I would have written a good review this time last week as I'd never had an issue and the speeds are good for the cost.. However, I think it's important to judge how a company reacts when something goes wrong.
When moving my router from where it had been for 6 months (tucked under a large sofa), I tried to put the wire back in and the place it sits in the router pushed in and was broken. I reached out to squirrel and they were far from professional, they asked for photos and determined from a small mark on the router (which I wiped off and sent photos of it back) that we had not taken care of it and must have tugged it when moving the sofa which wasn't the case at all. They told me I would have to pay £85 for a new router. I questioned this as I've never had one break and it wasn't mistreated, I reached under the sofa to take it out and removed all the wires to put it away whilst we got new flooring laid. I asked if there was an option or having it repaired or buy a refurbished one or asked about the manufacturer warranty, they very rudely told me I was to blame and should buy a new one from them. I decided to see if I could buy one online for cheaper, and found that Squirrel sell the same routers on eBay for £19.99, and were described as working but used. The emails were totally unprofessional and rude, it's clear this is not a company which takes care of its customers, they wouldn't entertain any ideas of warranty on the broken box, despite telling me they purchase them from the supplier, and they didn't let me know I could purchase used even after id asked.
I was also able to discuss my account with them via email (not the email they have for me on their system) without ever answering any security questions which is a breech of confidentiality. Very unprofessional, very dismissive and very rude.
No doubt they'll write an argumentative response but that says all you need to know about a company in my eyes. I'm stuck in a contract with them now unfortunately, and the moment I'm able to leave I will.
Response speaks for itself. Able to diagnose customer fault from one single photo. Confidentiality isn't something you can bypass to make it easier for everyone, It is not negotiable.
