Not fit for purpose depending on your water type. Three years extended product and customer service warranty and completely ignored for 6 months when dealing diedtly with the CEO. £600 out of pocket with a product that worked for a total of 2 months of a 8 month period.
This is the third review I have written for Skuma. I had various difficulties with my machine. On my previous trust pilot review, I stated that the company and I were working together to find an outcome that worked for us both. This has now happened and we have agreed a solution we are both satisfied with, which is why I have given a 5 star rating.
I do like my machine but there are some things I don’t like. It can be a lot of work at times. I dread doing the cleaning bit, the worst of it being getting the filter out of the machine. I’m 76 and I haven’t got the strength to do this. In order to get enough strength I have to put the machine on the floor and put 100% of my strength into it. It’s probably ok if you’re a young fit male. The water isn’t really hot enough for tea but saying that it does make a decent cup. I’m not sure the filter lasts a year, especially if you are a family. I changed mine after about eight months and I live on my own. The infusions can work out expensive but since using the machine I hardly ever have cramp issues. It’s nice to get rid of my kettle. Filling the machine is a bit of a nuisance every day and because I’m in a very hard water area I waste an awful lot of water down the sink (I don’t have a garden). I paid extra for a tube to take the extra water straight into the sink (very overpriced). The downside of this is that the water removed from the machine is so bad that it stains the sink! Thanks Thames Water. When I’ve had problems Skuma have done their best to help me, I just don’t want the problems. I’m wondering if a new machine will be coming onto the market with some of these things ironed out. So, although these are a lot of negatives I do like my machine and wouldn’t be without it. It just needs improvements.

Really great machine, the water tastes much cleaner. I’ve been using this for a couple of months now. The waste tank does need emptying a lot, but that’s not a massive issue as I know I’m getting cleaner water for the trouble. If anything the hot water doesn’t come out piping, but ready to drink so to speak

Looks nice, water is clean and crisp. No chemical chlorine taste anymore. Once set up and flushed through it’s easy to use. You do have to empty the waste quite frequently and the instant hot water is not hot enough to make tea or coffee with. I bought this for the water filtration but also equally for the hot water so I didn’t need a kettle anymore (the kettle was leaking and didn’t want to replace it) but now I’ll need to buy another kettle too for hot drinks.

After suffering chronic stomach pains as a result of drinking highly chlorinated tap water I decided to invest in a water filter. Huge choice out there, so lots of research later, I came across Skuma (Instagram). After reading over 10 pages of reviews I concluded it appeared that when there was a problem it was addressed and rectified. That gave me the confidence to purchase my Skuma filter machine. So glad I did! Unbelievable difference in water quality. Tastes so smooth. Love the ability to add back minerals, vitamins etc with the infusions. The hot water feature is a boon, but be aware to get the water hot enough for tea you do need to do the hot water calibration. Two tiny criticisms: as a bit of an OCD design freak, the fact that the two water tank lids don't align when the main tank is full of water is irritating, especially when the design is so considered and good. I think the instructions could be a bit more elementary. I felt some really simple steps, both in set up and use, were assumed and could have been better explained. Customer support has been prompt and helpful. Overall delighted, and with no more stomach pain, worth 5 stars, despite the above

I had it for a few days now and love the taste with and without hydration infusion. My only comment is I wish the hot water feature temperature was higher for making tea directly from the machine with a tea bag otherwise no issues and all is great so far.

it would be really nice and helpful if they had calibrated their machine correctly to put out the correct measured amount of water, each time, you press the desired setting, instead of going way over the amount that should be programmed into the machine. For example, when I press the 500 mL button it goes way over and puts in 750ml and the first time this happened. The water went all over my worktop onto the floor onto the wall and onto my skirting board a massive inconvenience and very disappointed. And now this happens every time on any setting.

Unfortunately my product would not turn on but was able to arrange a return easily with Alex. Everything was sorted and dealt with for me promptly so very happy with that.

I feel like I was a bit unlucky with the skuma devices as I recieved 3 faulty machines that leaked but I can't give any less than 5 stars due to the fantastic customer service, I didn't give up as I love the idea of remineralised RO water and the Skuma is perfect for what I wanted! I was given a WhatsApp number for support and the lovely lady at Skuma always replies to all queries really quickly, even late on weekends and I have now had a replacement device for 3 months with no issues. So it was 4th time lucky for me but I'm glad I stuck with Skuma as I couldn't be happier with my device and also appreciate they are quite a small and young business. I really can't fault the customer service I've received.

Ok so here's my absolute honest review with it only arriving today. The box was damaged and taped up as if it had been previously opened which worried me slightly. However upon opening the machine everything was packaged and didn't look used or anything. Set up was totally easy but the instructions could have been a bit more in-depth. It does not tell you to do 2 cycles of the machine before drinking the water, i found this out by watching a youtube video. The overall look of the machine and the touch screen i really like. It looks smart. I tried the hot water and it spits out/steams when it's finished which could be dangerous. I also found it difficult to stop the water flow on the hot setting. On the cold setting it is easy. I love that the machine holds 5L, so you don't have to constantly fill it, but do have to empty the waste water quite regularly. I have the alkaline infusion and can definitely taste the "cleaner" water. It gave my TDS meter a reading of 31 and my tap is 240. The part itself you put water into has a slightly cheap feel to it and could be better, as if it doesn't line up perfectly with the other elements. Adding the master filter and the infusion was easy and i like the design. I really think if this company wants to grow they need to get better customer service and invest in a 1-1 phone number so customers can call. Even if it only be 2 days a week to start with. So many reviews say that it takes days for a Sküma team member to reply. I would love for them to improve the overall finish of the product and then those who have brought it be upgraded for free when they do. Overall i am happy with the product and really hope everything keeps working as it should. I'm enjoying knowing i'm drinking clean water. I also think 3 year warranty should be standard as 1 year is not a great deal of time for the amount of money you're spending. For me it was a choice between this and Osmiowater.
