Hot water issues
I’ve very happy with my skuma the only thing I have a issue with is the hot water just not hot enough for tea and coffee with milk
Sküma Water is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

Not fit for purpose depending on your water type. Three years extended product and customer service warranty and completely ignored for 6 months when dealing diedtly with the CEO. £600 out of pocket with a product that worked for a total of 2 months of a 8 month period.
This is the third review I have written for Skuma. I had various difficulties with my machine. On my previous trust pilot review, I stated that the company and I were working together to find an outcome that worked for us both. This has now happened and we have agreed a solution we are both satisfied with, which is why I have given a 5 star rating.
I do like my machine but there are some things I don’t like. It can be a lot of work at times. I dread doing the cleaning bit, the worst of it being getting the filter out of the machine. I’m 76 and I haven’t got the strength to do this. In order to get enough strength I have to put the machine on the floor and put 100% of my strength into it. It’s probably ok if you’re a young fit male. The water isn’t really hot enough for tea but saying that it does make a decent cup. I’m not sure the filter lasts a year, especially if you are a family. I changed mine after about eight months and I live on my own. The infusions can work out expensive but since using the machine I hardly ever have cramp issues. It’s nice to get rid of my kettle. Filling the machine is a bit of a nuisance every day and because I’m in a very hard water area I waste an awful lot of water down the sink (I don’t have a garden). I paid extra for a tube to take the extra water straight into the sink (very overpriced). The downside of this is that the water removed from the machine is so bad that it stains the sink! Thanks Thames Water. When I’ve had problems Skuma have done their best to help me, I just don’t want the problems. I’m wondering if a new machine will be coming onto the market with some of these things ironed out. So, although these are a lot of negatives I do like my machine and wouldn’t be without it. It just needs improvements.

I had an issue with my skuma device not producing any waste water, I contacted the customer service department and was put in contact with Ashwin, this was probably the best customer service I’ve received with quick reply’s over a weekend and clear instructions on what to do, Ashwin organised a location for my device to get collected for fixing. Very professional and helpful service 10/10

I bought my Skuma unit in October 2024 and genuinely wanted to love it. But what followed has been repeated technical issues, broken promises, and a lack of proper aftercare. In January 2025, the unit began randomly dispensing water by itself, causing multiple mini floods in my kitchen. It also changed temperature settings on its own. Skuma advised I return the unit for repair — but oddly the issues stopped for a while, so I held off. Then in June 2025, things went downhill again: On the 27th, it over-dispensed water, flooding my kitchen again. It started dripping water long after dispensing. The mineral setting switched off by itself as soon as I pressed the button. When I requested 500ml, it only gave 400ml — likely due to a leak, which I recorded and sent to Skuma. My infusion kits were being consumed way too fast — one ran out after just a few days, indicating yet another malfunction. In addition, I was promised free pre-shots in December 2024. I chased this in January 2025 via email, only for the same Skuma agent who made the promise to ask me, “Who told you that?” — I had to remind them that they did. They claimed they’d include the pre-shots in my next subscription order — but they never arrived. I chased them up again, but nothing came. Now, after all these months, I’m told Skuma no longer manufactures pre-shots. Eventually — and only after I reminded them again recently — they offered three infusion kits as a gesture. But that doesn't reflect the actual loss and inconvenience I’ve faced: They already owed me the pre-shots. I lost two infusion kits due to machine faults. I’ve had months of inconvenience, including now, in the middle of a heatwave, where I’m without the unit as it’s away for repair — I’m reluctant to drink bottled water, so staying hydrated has become unnecessarily difficult. To make things worse, Skuma gives out free branded water bottles in exchange for positive Trustpilot reviews — I received one. While clever, this feels like review manipulation, and doesn’t reflect the experience many real customers go through. What I believe is fair compensation: 2 infusion kits for the ones lost due to machine faults 2 infusion kits to replace the undelivered pre-shots 2 more kits + a large glass bottle for the disruption and delays ➡️ Total: 6 kits + 1 bottle Considering the stress, wasted time, inconsistent product performance, and disappointing support, I think this is a reasonable and fair request. Until Skuma properly repairs my unit in a timely manner and offers meaningful compensation, I cannot recommend this product — even with the tempting £55 referral reward.

I bought a Sküma to filter out a PFAS pollution in my local tap water. The filtering function works well and made me confident to have safe drinking water. Unfortunately, my tap water is also very hard and the limescale clogged the filter, but the Sküma team was responsive and resolved the issue.

Product support is terrific. The main problem with the filter is that they have magnets that get rusty over time as they are constantly exposed to water. Eventually the machine is unable to detect the magnets so it stops working. Reaching out to support will tell you either extend warranty for £70 or purchase maintenance pack for £9. Whilst in reality you can order the same magnets for £4 on Amazon. They do not care about their customers.
