Hot water issues
I’ve very happy with my skuma the only thing I have a issue with is the hot water just not hot enough for tea and coffee with milk

Not fit for purpose depending on your water type. Three years extended product and customer service warranty and completely ignored for 6 months when dealing diedtly with the CEO. £600 out of pocket with a product that worked for a total of 2 months of a 8 month period.

This is the third review I have written for Skuma. I had various difficulties with my machine. On my previous trust pilot review, I stated that the company and I were working together to find an outcome that worked for us both. This has now happened and we have agreed a solution we are both satisfied with, which is why I have given a 5 star rating.
It’s mostly great but ……
I do like my machine but there are some things I don’t like. It can be a lot of work at times. I dread doing the cleaning bit, the worst of it being getting the filter out of the machine. I’m 76 and I haven’t got the strength to do this. In order to get enough strength I have to put the machine on the floor and put 100% of my strength into it. It’s probably ok if you’re a young fit male. The water isn’t really hot enough for tea but saying that it does make a decent cup. I’m not sure the filter lasts a year, especially if you are a family. I changed mine after about eight months and I live on my own. The infusions can work out expensive but since using the machine I hardly ever have cramp issues. It’s nice to get rid of my kettle. Filling the machine is a bit of a nuisance every day and because I’m in a very hard water area I waste an awful lot of water down the sink (I don’t have a garden). I paid extra for a tube to take the extra water straight into the sink (very overpriced). The downside of this is that the water removed from the machine is so bad that it stains the sink! Thanks Thames Water. When I’ve had problems Skuma have done their best to help me, I just don’t want the problems. I’m wondering if a new machine will be coming onto the market with some of these things ironed out. So, although these are a lot of negatives I do like my machine and wouldn’t be without it. It just needs improvements.

A nice product (when it is working) but need to improve its customer service
Update from my previous review. After sharing the review on trustpilot about poor customer service, skuma reached out to me and offered a much better customer service. I am happy with the 2nd machine after testing it for a month. No more bottle water and water taste fine comparing to other bottle water ! A bit downside is that there is ~800 ml of waste water for every ~2000 ml of drinking water. Also, the skuma hot water is not as hot as the hot water from adjustable temperature kettle (e.g. 85 deg from skuma is between 60-70 deg from kettle and max. temperature of skuma is between 70-80 deg from kettle). But with skuma there is no waiting time for hot water. Overall, 3 stars for me (taking out 1 star due to poor customer service & defect 1st machine, and 1 start due to waste water and hot water downsides). I had to return the 1st machine because it could not provide more than 300 ml of water at once. I got the 2nd machine in a week after reporting the problem and had a little problem again with the machine. No water from the refill tank could enter the filter as its valve stuck. This time skuma helped me immediately after reporting the issue. I was told that it could happen if the package was not handle properly but I could easily move the valve back. It seems to be quite a well-known issue to skuma. ########################################### Apart from delay delivery (5 days instead of 1-2 day delivery), I also got a problem with missing a boost cap. Tried to contact their customer service via email and whatsApp and finally got a response after chasing them for a week. It has been 2 weeks since I ordered, and I still couldn't use the filter. ###########################################

Unfortunately my Skuma product was…
Unfortunately my Skuma product was having problems and after troubleshooting with a team member, I had to send it for repair on 16 October 2023. Since then, I’ve received no updates unless I chase. The last time I asked about where this is at with the repair and was told I would receive the product this week which I haven’t and again with no updates!

Excellent and smart initiative
Excellent and smart initiative. We have it in our kitchen and use it on daily basis. It change our life !! We use it also for our coffee machine and can feel a different taste ! I recommend it.

Water tastes fantastic
Water tastes fantastic even after a month - I decided to purchase after my plastic Brita water filter jug wasn't strong enough to filter the hard water in my area for more than 2 weeks. Love the temperature setting, which gives me warm to hot water instantly without having to fiddle with the kettle - would love if it had a temperature setting that was even closer to boiling as I find I still need the kettle to make a solid tea Would give 1 more star if they find a way to reduce or insulate the noise the machine makes when it filters - something I'm still getting used to! Also the machine creates waste water which prompts me to empty out twice a day - I feel guilty as if I'm wasting water, so if they could find an innovative way to reduce or remove the need for waste water, even better!

Great Water filter. Well built. Looks great. Thanks to Alex @ Skuma for delivering it and setting it up for me. Love the ability to make my own customised water recipe with the infusion bottle for both optimum drinking and to keep my expresso machine healthy.

Best Water you will ever have.
Great service from this company, they answer any questions you may have very quickly. In regards the product the pricing is good in comparison to others in the market and when you factor in the in built addition of the added minerals Skuma can't be beat. The machine itself is well made and a pleasure to use, it really is the best water you will try either hot or cool. Overall well worth the money and am glad I made the investment.
