Looking for a holiday is simple on the website. If you search early enough there is usually lots of choice of dates, hotels, cabins etc. Confirmation of booking comes immediately by return email but you can always check any details by telephone and the staff are very helpful. I recommend Riviera every time I am asked about holidays.

Excellent service

This was a very dispiriting experience. We wanted to use the 'land only' option to avoid using a distant airport in the UK or a ridiculously early start. Information was very slow in forthcoming, a key phone call was not followed up, and when we needed confirmation where the last night of the tour would be, for onward train travel, it was like getting blood out of a stone. The actual booking process also seemed very tedious and repetitive

Very helpful staff who helped me get what I wanted room wise. It took some time, as predicted, for the hotel to confirm, but they were able to help to my complete satisfaction.

Trying to book, by talking to Riviera staff by telephone, a river cruise in 2026 for myself, my wife and two friends was a most frustrating and annoying experience. Staff allocated my booking to my friends who had paid a deposit for their booking. When I subsequently tried to confirm my booking and pay my deposit the Riviera person I was speaking to could not recognise the discount voucher I had previously received by email from Riviera! Eventually the bookings were sorted out by a Manager but I lost a lot of one Sunday tried to get something that should have been so simple put right. We have previously taken four River Cruses with Riviera and my wife has done city breaks with them. In the past I would have highly recommended the company but not now.They need to get their act together.

The call is always answered quickly by very pleasant and helpful staff. They also rang back promptly after an email query I had. I was given a provisional booking, held for a few days, so that I could check further with the friend I’m going on holiday with, who was currently away.

We booked our trip over the phone with a very knowledgeable and helpful sales rep (Jane), with no pushy "hard sell"attitude. The ability to pre-reserve the trip for a couple of days prior to paying the deposit was also useful as we did not feel rushed or pressurised to make an immediate decision. Overall a simple and professional booking experience.
