Several problems. Still awaiting Riviera travel about my concerns. Promised a return in 48 hours. Now 5 days. Wrong price, high non returnable deposit, not told. Different catalogue used by telephoning to mine. Even sent me a different catalogue. Confusion over which holiday we booked. Slow response times and more. Please contact urgently.

Thoroughly enjoyed my recent river cruise, all excursions were very interesting with informative guides. Each and every one of the crew (not direct employees of Riviera, but responsible for MS Oscar Wilde) was efficient, eager to please and be helpful. Cabin was lovely. Food delicious. My reason for giving only three stars was that the Riviera Cruise Director was less than helpful when there was an issue with our return flight to the UK - basically left people to sort it out themselves rather than take responsibility and assist with the arrangements. She also displayed a lack of empathy with some guests when they got separated from a group during one of the city walking tours. We had expected better from Riviera.

Booking was very easy and efficient; the members of the booking team were friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough to help. They were able to answer a few queries I had with ease. All in all an excellent experience and confirmed very quickly with an e mail.

Straight forward booking system with a trusted company we have used several times before. Looking forward to our holiday with Riviera Travel.

A great tour, with a superb guides. We got to see a lot and the tour was well organised. Big shout out to Panka, who was amazing. She was very approachable, well organised and unflappable. Nothing was too much for her and she kept everyone up-to-date and on-time (which with 37 people in our group could not have been an easy task). Our local guides Yuri & Meg were knowledgeable, friendly and had good senses of humour. There were some differences between the published itinerary and what we actually did. For example, you visit the Tsukiji Fish Market area as the very first trip. This is not even mentioned in the itinerary. The itinerary suggests that you actually visit Akihabara and Harajuku - you don’t… you just drive through them. We’re these issues for us personally? No… but they may have been for others. We feel that we had enough time to do our own things as well. This was mostly in the late afternoons and evenings, although you do get a full day to do your own things in Kyoto, plus until 2 PM on the final day (which was plenty of time to do the full Philiospher’s Walk). There were 37 of us in our group. We were the youngest in the group (44 and 52), with most of the group being in their 60s. this didn’t bother us in the slightest. Almost all were friendly and nice people who we chatted with often, both during the day tours and later on in the evenings during meals. Inevitably there was a small minority who seemed negative and not happy with the tour, but this seemed to be more a reflection of their personality. We would recommend the Best of Japan tour. 10/10.

The excellent, informed, efficient, friendly and helpful people at Riviera just continue to be one of the main reasons we keep choosing to holiday with this company. Well done to all concerned and thank you!

Excellent service. A super company to deal with. Straight forward booking from a most helpful operative. Will recommend them to others.

The booking form is in pdf format and easier to fill in word format. Payment not possible on the internet and have to wait for the phone call. Digital signature is not liked by everyone.

We have just booked another holiday with Riviera Travel and the lady I spoke to was so helpful & knowledgeable regarding the details of the holiday. It was lovely to speak to somebody so nice. We have booked previous tours with Riviera which have been brilliant so had no problem with booking with them again. A great company to deal with.

I made a telephone booking via Laurie M. He was both knowledgeable and helpful throughout the conversation . The process was explained clearly and the next steps were clearly outlined . The only thing I found surprising is that certain details are not provided at time of booking - due to Riviera , at time of writing , not having agreed a contract with a supplier of such services . This delays me booking pre holiday details . I find this strange as if I book now with say Jet 2 for 2026 all their hotel and flight details have been agreed with their suppliers . This is not a complaint but an observation.
