SCAMMERS AND FRAUDSTERS 31/05/19 Chris WILLLIAMSON who is the manager and head of the South East Queensland Division of Red Spot and Dan Mekler who is the CEO have refused to provide me with a tax invoice, Reciept and a way to pay settle my account. WARNING DO NOT RENT FROM THESE FRAUDSTERS!!! I hired a vehicle from Red Spot and had been hiring long term from them. My wife and I were on our way to my doctor because I have chronic Crohn's and have a 10cm stricture in my bowel and am waiting to have surgery. We were unaware the hire company had been trying to get in contact as they usually took a payment for the period of a week which we had done and did not think there was anything owing and were unaware they had been trying to get in contact, which had not been an issue in the past. All of their listed email addresses bounce back and all of my attempts to contact them by phone had been ignored. I had to call in excess of 15-20 times on occasion because their one listed phone number for Brisbane airport would ring out and there was no where to leaven a message. After trying that day and the previous day without success to contact them we were pulled over by the police and arrested at gun point. No apologies or explanation, they even lied to the police and said they had report the vehicle stolen on the 25th of April because of non payment yet we have proof that a payment was taken on this date. They also told the police that we paid for the entire period up front which was also a blatant lie and as a consequence we were both arrested and held for several hours where I was denied my medication and proper decent human treatment. There was some minor damage to the vehicle and since this has occurred I have tried every day for 3 weeks to get in contact with Red Spot to find out how much is owed and how I can pay the balance of what is owing. I spoke to a very friendly Manager by the name of Brenton who could not believe our story and said in these circumstances the charges are usually dropped once contact is made and the vehicle is returned and could not understand why Chris Williamson had locked my file and would not return emails of phone calls. I have tried phoning multiple times per day since the incident and followed up with emails. I have only had one call back and no information has been sent to me, I do not have a way to make payment and until today had no idea what was outstanding until I received the brief of evident from the prosecution. They claim there is $4,400 owing and no payment has been made yet they have deducted $1,000 which has not been reflected and they will not return emails, phone calls or any kind of communication to get this matter sorted and finalised. I have also tried contacting the CEO Dan Mekler without success who responded by phone to an employee and said I would need to speak with Chris Williamson who is handeling the matter but ignores all phone calls and emails. I have left countless voicemails and emails which have gone unanswered and fail to understand why they don’t want a speedy resolution or payment for what is owing. The only conclusion that I can come too is that they are trying to stitch me up which I think is disgraceful. I have made every attempt to get this matter resolved and think it’s disgraceful they would treat a customer this way. They don’t care about customers, they treat people like dirt and even when they try and do the right thing they seem more interested in seeing people punished. It’s not a company I will ever do business with again, I was a good paying customer and have never been treated like this by any other company in my entire life. They don’t deserve your business and they simply don’t care, it’s all about the dollars and cents to these people. BEWARE AND HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK
We received really poor customer service in the Sydney airport location (the one outside not in the terminal). Yes I had made a small time collection error when booking online however their option was to charge me an additional $250 for it. So I said don't worry, I cancelled the booking online, then rebooked the same car with the correct pick-up times and it was even cheaper than my original booking. They then forgot to give me my drivers licence back, didn't offer any apologies or upgrade, didn't ask if I wanted additional drivers so had to redo the paperwork once I asked as I'd had paid for Top Dog cover and the total attitude of the attendant was that I was annoying, this entire situation cost me an additional 1.5hrs of my time. Don't think I'll hire through them again.
Great customer service over the phone and at Hobart and Launceston airports. Very easy return process which eased stress of making flight check in. Pricing and insurance coverage options were quite good also. Will use and recommend Redspot again.
First of all, it’s not clear anywhere on your website the Redspot “doesn’t exist anymore”. Took me precious time, on a Sunday night, after a 13hrs trip that I should actually be looking for this unknown company booth called Enterprise. How am I suppose to know it??? After realising where I should go, the real problem started. The attendant knew nothing about my booking price. He in fact would have charged me double for those 11 days if I haven’t asked for the final price. It took me 1 full hour of back and forward discussions where I have to simulate a similar booking online using my phone for the gentleman to accept the quoting written down on my booking confirmation. I’ve used Redspot in the past mainly due to the “no surprises “ experience. Guess what...surprise, you’ll pay double now!! Not 1 phone call or correspondence follow that experience. No acknowledgement of this serious issue by the company whatsoever. I wouldn’t even think of using your services in the future for the lack of transparency and serious technical glitches.
Awesome service! After a long flight from canada it was awesome to get such amazing service to get the car quickly
Awesome staff in Sydney so easy to deal with
The car we had ordered was unavailable and it took 60min of waiting time to inform us about this. Subsequently emailed them afterwards but never received any reply (two emails unanswered).
The rental went great. No issues and wonderful customer service at the rental desk with both check out and return. My only problem was finding the rental area, very difficult to locate when we arrived. Needs better signage.
I booked through the Redspot website as I had done quite a number of times in the past albeit not for a while. All went smoothly for a vehicle at the all-inclusive rate pick-up at SYD. Well, we get to the airport and there's no Redspot to be seen. Walking from terminal 2 to 3 and back again, including going through the carparks, proved fruitless. We finally ask someone who tells us that they've been bought out and changed their name! (news to their website apparently). We only found this out by chance asking at a desk marked 'Enterprise' and were told by a nice person who was on their lunch break. Enterprise however just so happened to be the new name. We finally found the right office. When at the desk we were asked if we would like to add a driver (over 25 years) so we said yes. The car was brought to us but the price was significantly higher. When queried they said it was because of the extra driver but no mention of more money was made when we were asked. The extra driver was removed and still the price didn't match the booked fee. I was told they'd 'manually' adjust it afterwards but they didn't. Roadside assistance was also included on the website but not in the rental agreement when picking up. No one seemed to know what the website offered, what the email booking advice looked like, or that it might be confusing to call yourself one thing online and something else at the airport. Oh, and their computer systems keeping freezing them out and were slow when not. Throughout this I was given a well-meant but unesscesqary history of the company and how head office don't understand etc etc (no offence but I really don't care, i just want a vehicle not corporate history). Then I was taken outside to inspect the body when it didn't matter in practice as I had the top damage waiver deal. Pushing an hour before being able to drive out of the terminal! The half tank petrol price offer was the one convenient thing. Never had an issue before and most likely won't again as will stick with Thrifty next time.
Good Service & Good Rates
Great product and service...... so simple
I was on a early flight. No one was at the desk. Directions left on the desk would have been nice. Then I crossed the road to next offic e no one there. Then I came back again after ringing redspot and found the office. I was with another couple. Very frustrating I'm afraid. Then they tried to charge me for an added driver which was part of my deal. And then the GPS was in another language.
BOOKED A CAR AT AIRPORT FOR 1 DAY AS HAD BUSINESS FOR DAY. PICK UP TME WAS 10-30AM I ARIIVED JUST B4. LEFT AIPORT WITH THE CAR I REQUIRED AT 12-25PM I HAD MISED ALL MY APPTS. Terrible tried to charge more than web confirmed print out once at airport ridiculous company wasn't redspot at airport was another brand which wasn't signposted and the agent was absent
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY The worst car hire firm I have ever used. Unprofessional, faked damage on the car after we left for $550 for a black mark (which we didn’t do). I hope you read this before booking with these cowboys!!
Really disappointing experience. My flight arrived 45 minutes late to Sydney however inexplicably Redspot did not have my car ready. I waited almost an hour (with many other frustrated customers) and then got given a small car (I had booked and paid for an Intermediate). So I missed my meetings, got a small car and Redspot offered me nothing - not even the refund between the tariffs. The next day I received an Invoice for toll usage. In future I will book with a more reliable operator.
