Review summary
Postoffice has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Parcel returned from Royal mail. Post office staff did not know why although they had completed the CN22 and I signed it. The parcel came back after 7 weeks with a CN15(b) form on the returned parcel. After 15 minutes, they sent me off with a contact number that could not help. Poor service. Visit an alternative post office if you want your post to be delivered.
My local Postman is great BUT when it comes to parcels they do not come any where near the time that they are due such as 9:30 11:45. It it ALWAYS well into the afternoon.
This makes it impossible to plan. I have commitments which I am willing to work around but NOT the WHOLE DAY.
If you say you will deliver between these time THEN YOU SHOULD.
On top of that it's the same guy - who's not too friendly - it's like you have disturbed him by having a parcel delivered.
Possibly the worst delivery company in the UK.
The regular guys are great who deliver your letters, however, when you have a parcel being delivered not letters, it never arrives on time, the time slots are too long as well, and when they stick a note via your door they don't tell you what neighbour they left it with and the item reference on the last two were incorrect. I have heard they use agencies workers to deliver parcels. They clearly need more training. Lastly trying to get hold of anyone to speak to is like trying to speak to Pope.
I am really annoyed with our Post Office here in Hexham. I'm a bit under the weather so my hubby offered to take a small package down to the post office today. I had written the service I wanted which was first class recorded delivery. I also included its low value and what was inside as I know these are all the questions they ask, from past experience. All that was required was that there was a signature at the receiving end, so I knew they had received it. The last thing I said to the hubby was, be careful as they will try and sell you something totally different which would be more expensive and, something I didn't need. I knew that from past experience also. He came home with the receipt and guess what, they sold and charged him for 'SPECIAL DELIVERY' I asked him did you tell her that you wanted plain and simple 'RECORDED DELIVERY ' he said yes, of course however, after their card machine (which was playing up at the time) failed to take the payment 4 times and eventually took the payment of £7.35 he realised what she had done. My question is are they able to totally disregard your wishes, sell you something you DONT NEED OR WANT in a bid to bolster their takings for the day.
Why they put an option of delivery different day if they keep delivering whenever the f*k they want…. Too tired to argue with them anymore…. I have lost a lots of parcels bc of them, they just drop off the parcel on the floor, take a picture and run away…. How can all you sleep at night honestly…..
Totally dishonest. I received a destroyed theatre vouchers from my niece in December. The Royal Mail admitted to their mistake and I have photos evidence. They passed me on to a number of departments. The last department offered me £10 worth of 1st class stamps which I refused and returned yesterday.
My family and I have been using the Royal Mail for years and we have never had any problems.
I am hugely disappointed and I will continue to press my case until I get a fair resolution.
woking, sheerwater PO, rudely refused to accept a cheque for paying into my HSBC account, these are the postmasters that should be punished, avoid at all cost go elswhere
I opened a Bond account with Post Office Savings on December 29. Admittedly this was during the holiday season but why did it take until January 19 for the Bond to transfer from HSBC? It is now January 22 and I still haven't been able to access the account. I was sent a six digit code on January 18, which failed and I was told it was my error when I called on the morning of January 22 to ask for help. Another letter, dated January 19 with another code arrived on January 22 and again it failed and when I called on the afternoon of January 22 was told no letter had been sent out on January 19 'according to the system'. No supervisor was available to take calls, there is no email complaint address for the Post Office, and sadly they haven't learnt anything regarding customer service. I have the letters. They don't believe me!
I went to the Wanstead post office during the half term holidays in October 2023, and the manager categorically REFUSED to take photographs of my child for passport renewal. No reasons were provided, he was just extremely rude and unpleasant. I begged him to take the photograph, but he did not want to. He said 'I do not want to help you'. Also the lady working there was rude and unfriendly. Actually, I was meant to write a review on Google when this happened, but I forgot. That's why I am doing it now.
I then used the service for passport renewal at the South Woodford new post office. The staff was friendly and helpful. They took the photograph of my child with no issues. :-)
