Review summary
Postoffice has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Parcel returned from Royal mail. Post office staff did not know why although they had completed the CN22 and I signed it. The parcel came back after 7 weeks with a CN15(b) form on the returned parcel. After 15 minutes, they sent me off with a contact number that could not help. Poor service. Visit an alternative post office if you want your post to be delivered.
My local Postman is great BUT when it comes to parcels they do not come any where near the time that they are due such as 9:30 11:45. It it ALWAYS well into the afternoon.
This makes it impossible to plan. I have commitments which I am willing to work around but NOT the WHOLE DAY.
If you say you will deliver between these time THEN YOU SHOULD.
On top of that it's the same guy - who's not too friendly - it's like you have disturbed him by having a parcel delivered.
Possibly the worst delivery company in the UK.
The regular guys are great who deliver your letters, however, when you have a parcel being delivered not letters, it never arrives on time, the time slots are too long as well, and when they stick a note via your door they don't tell you what neighbour they left it with and the item reference on the last two were incorrect. I have heard they use agencies workers to deliver parcels. They clearly need more training. Lastly trying to get hold of anyone to speak to is like trying to speak to Pope.
At my nearest Post Office there is only one assistant serving or it's position closed when no staff.Three times in December and January I have walked a distance only to find it's closed.Walked there this morning, closed AGAIN.Staff in shop part said Post Office staff not turned up!Very frustrating when we no longer have a reliable Post Office.
Where do I begin. In this instance when I click on the genuine text message or email they send me saying you can track this item, it reports that it cannot find it when you click it. I always check it's the genuine URL because I'm an IT engineer I know what I'm doing.
On top of that in the text below that it then says sorry about that these things can take up to three days two populate, or something like that.
The next answer that comes into your head is exactly the same as what you would do"why the f would anybody make such an application do such a thing" ??
Why make this application send a text to the customer when the system would know this fact ?(assuming they know what they're doing back there)
If this occurs then they need to not send you a text saying click here to track your item. I'm no genius at tracking but I think that would be the sensible answer.
I wonder if they bother even reading this stuff. Do they even care. Wasting my time everyone's time and not even utilizing the feedback because you can clearly see they get one star. How is it possible that the most expensive parcel courier company in the UK can be so appalling??
I have never known anyone so arrogant and rude as the man with the beard as the person I had serving me today at Amesbury post office.never going in again
Absolutely unnacceptable. People be aware that they will steal from you. I decided to send a parcel at Post Office branch, paid nearly £50. They used Evri, my parcel never got delivered (it has been returned back to my address several weeks after I sent it with no explanation at all). They told me to contact Evri. So I did. Evri pushed it back to Post Office, went back to them. After long time waiting they "determined" that they are not responsible for the packages that people are sending through them, they advised me to try contacting Royal Mail. I just got robbed. Well done Post Office, I will never use your poor services again.
Feel very sad about my recent experience of the Post Office Delivery Service. In November I had a delivery of a £70 mirror. Delivery person said delivered to my safe place. I live in a gated house, parcel not delivered to a safe place but thrown over a high wall. Message sent, said it was delivered, I was home, went out and searched and found parcel thrown over wall. Polystyrene packaging broken, luckily not mirror. This week delivery person tried to put a large book through my letter box. Book left propped up against door and letter box broken. That was on Monday 27thJanuary, customer reference 59136094-PK
Item been at the sorting office since December 31st arrived two days ago. This was a tracked item. My monthly wash tabs from 6th December and the 6th January both arrived two days ago. I also received a postcard saying a letter cannot be delivered as there wasn't the correct stamping on it. I could have paid the £1.50 online but I thought I would call at the Sorting Office to see what was going on. I got there at 10.02 a.m. and it was closed. Opening times are 8.00 to 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 until 6.00 p.m. This letter may be an envelope of rubbish for all I know. Had to go for a blood test Monday but the green sheet I needed hadn't arrived. Fortunately I found one from 6 months ago and that was acceptable as no details had changed. Forget any offers you may receive through the post. These will be past the date by the time they get to you.
Post Office letter tracking: Given Tracking Number.
On entering it on website
"Sorry - we don't recognise that number."
When I tried phoning support, the automated voice recognition could not correctly identify letters and cut off after a few tries.
Using output of a text to speech converter still mis-identified the letters.
Meopham, Kent post office is based inside the Morrisons shop and recently I’ve had problems. I went there in the afternoon and it was closed for cashing up. I went there in the evening and it was closed for staff training. It is open until 10 pm so I went back again and no one was available to do any post office work - but you can buy anything from the shop at the counter. It is not the friendliest place I’ve ever been to in my life! This is a local post office, but I really do not want to go there anymore and have to drive to Istead Rise 3 miles away to get proper service from a post office. Very upsetting and disappointing.
Also recently I sent a parcel and had pre-bought the stamps for it. They weighed the parcel and told me how much it was going to be. I had enough stamps and gave her 3 and asked how much extra I had to pay. She didn’t want me to pay any extra cash because she didn’t want to do this transaction. So I had to give her another stamp for the parcel so now I paid too much instead of the exact amount with cash.

The Post Office - as operated here - shows just how hopeless a service it has become. Putting the dreadful Post Office scandal aside - the staff here have a strange regard of what a retail service is - and how important a speedy and efficient service is, to compete with all the options of delivery that there now are.
With six customers in the queue a teller blatantly puts up her 'position closed' sign and keeps it closed while she faffs with a pile of envelopes. She defends her decision only when challenged - after it being obvious that she should have been dealing with her pile during a lull. Had she been sensitive to 'customer service' she would have apologised - and promised to "be with you shortly".
It was the time of day when the queue fluctuates to enable queuing customers to be served quickly. Hopeless. Her colleague in the next window was dealing with a customer with a protracted query - and hadn't a clue as to what a sense of urgency and efficiency are.
Some customers have to queue unnecessarily because the PO has agreed to print return labels for some online traders, like Music Magpie. You can't print them at home and just drop it in a post box - you have to queue at this hopeless PO. Why did they agree to this?
It's decisions like this - and the poor time management of the staff - oblivious to being a 'service' (they're doing you a favour!) - that is enabling a Czech millionaire to pick up the organisation for a song.
Have no fear - the new owner will have to make the PO more streamlined and with AI the jobs at Upper Norwood will disappear.
Time stands still - stationary - in Upper Norwood PO - it's written on their frontage sign! For years the spelling has been wrong - they mean 'stationery' - as in 'stationers' who sell office requirements! They can't even spell what their main retail proposition is!
However 'stationary' as in a non-moving queue is a more appropriate description of the service you'll get! They will only get further business from me as an absolute last final desperate resort. The printer of their signage must have been perspicacious!
I am certain others have resolved to make this their last resort post office.
Ordered an item it was shipped by Parcelforce!
They left a card! No tracking number and no information about where it was left!
Incompetence at its finest!
No wonder the post office gets slated!
I now have to try and find which house it was left at!
