Review summary
P&O Cruises is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
It was just a lovely cruise. There was everything we wanted and being very much older, plenty of time to relax if needed. The staff are amazing, respectful and welcoming. The Baltic cities are wonderful sights and the talks by Dave Wright were inspirational and riveting. We went to every one. Loved every minute
What a beautiful ship, staff, food, drink, rooms the whole experience was memorable, my first cruise and a fantastic experience with great and beautiful locations visited in Norway.
Have recently returned from PO Britannia 10 anniversary cruise of the British Isles which we had been really looking forward to as it was visiting places we haven't been to before, although disappointed they cancelled our trip to Edinburgh. The cruise got off to a bad start for us it took nearly two hours from dropping our luggage off to actually get on to the ship (usually takes 20-30 mins) so was not happy it was exhausting and would have put of off if it was our first cruise. Luckily it all improved from then on and we had a fantastic and relaxing cruise. Food excellent and staff very friendly in particular Akrita and Stanley from the Meridan restaurant and Jenson our cabin steward. Britannia certainly pulled the stops out with the entertainment this cruise it was spectacular on deck and in theatre, you had to queue early to get a seat in theatre even though they did 3 shows a night it was full half an hour before show started. We did three shore excursions with PO and all where very good with knowledgeable guides on the coaches and the shuttle bus in other places was well organised. Sort the boarding out and back too 5 stars next time.
We had a super time on our P&O cruise to Norway! The entire experience was smooth, enjoyable, and well organised. The ship (Iona) was comfortable and well-maintained, the crew were friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Norway’s stunning scenery, especially places like Olden, took our breath away. Each day brought something new to enjoy, both on board and ashore. A truly memorable holiday that we’d happily do again!
We travelled to the Norwegian Ffords for a week on the Iona. The ship is brilliant. The staff are exceptional. Work very hard and always willing to help. Plenty of choice of things to do each day if you wanted to. Food was exceptional especially on speciality nights which you have to pay for. Worth every penny. Food available all day if you wanted it.
Travelled to Norway on the stunning iona. The holiday was a delight from start to finish. I don't have 1 negative thing to say.
I travelled as a single parent with mobility issues. But I had no problems. It was a dream holiday that exceeded all expectations.
The staff are truly wonderful. I don't have enough words to describe how amazing the trip was.
It was the most amazing holiday from start to finish. So easy to embark and disembark the ship. Food wonderful, entertainment great, crew so helpful and polite. Will definitely go with them again.
Beware how P&O sells this Cruise
I am so angry and disappointed with P&Os Complaints Process as previous emails if this is not misrepresentation
please let me know what is ???????????????? I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING DECEIVED
My booking shows Toulon then like everyone else you send a email its changed now going to Lav Seyne Sur Mer
then you have the audacity to advise if you want to go to Toulon there is a boat that for £20 each will
take you to Toulon which we was due to go to when booking
I have discovered Toulon cannot accommodate large ships like the arvia which P&O must have known before putting it
on the itinerary this goes back a while according to the reviews P&O have used tenders for the last few years Please

Just had an email for the cruise in less than two weeks that we have changed port on p&o Arvia - but it’s ok cos we can pay £20 per adult and £10 per child to still get to Toulon.
im miffed if im honest. This was one of the only new ports for us to try.
might have to look for alternatives to do that day and glad I haven’t booked anything independent

Wow that's a bit naughty. Same happened to us in October, we were with Marella and there was no charge for the tender. Toulon is a Naval dock so it looks as though all sailings will be going to La Seyne. It's quite a nice ride across the bay and it's on a French boat not ship tenders.
A nice easy day is to go to the tourist info in Toulon (by the market) and ask them for tickets to Mont Faron. Can't remember the price but it wasn't much. They sell you a bus/cable car ticket and point you in the direction of the bus stop. Ask the driver to put you off at the cable car. The bus journey is only about 15 minutes. There are beautiful views of the bay and there are walks at the top as well as a cafe and small WW11 museum.

I think it’s a bit wrong really. It’s not like we can cancel the cruise even if we wanted to, we’ve paid select fare not saver also but I suppose they will just say it’s their right to change ports. I just don’t think they should be charging people for it. Had it have been before full balance then I wouldn’t have had as much of a gripe.

Is it the size of Arvia? I don't mean in terms of passenger numbers, but the actual size of her, and whether Toulon has become one of those Mediterranean ports that are limiting cruise ships.
Looking at Toulon's schedule in 2025, she's the largest that was due to dock there by some considerable margin.

Had the email too for our cruise in under 3 weeks time. I’ve already checked in online.
I’ve never heard of the replacement port and the ‘nominal’ fee to take the boat transfer is £20 each. I don’t call that nominal if a family want to go.
