Review summary
P&O Cruises is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
It was just a lovely cruise. There was everything we wanted and being very much older, plenty of time to relax if needed. The staff are amazing, respectful and welcoming. The Baltic cities are wonderful sights and the talks by Dave Wright were inspirational and riveting. We went to every one. Loved every minute
What a beautiful ship, staff, food, drink, rooms the whole experience was memorable, my first cruise and a fantastic experience with great and beautiful locations visited in Norway.
Have recently returned from PO Britannia 10 anniversary cruise of the British Isles which we had been really looking forward to as it was visiting places we haven't been to before, although disappointed they cancelled our trip to Edinburgh. The cruise got off to a bad start for us it took nearly two hours from dropping our luggage off to actually get on to the ship (usually takes 20-30 mins) so was not happy it was exhausting and would have put of off if it was our first cruise. Luckily it all improved from then on and we had a fantastic and relaxing cruise. Food excellent and staff very friendly in particular Akrita and Stanley from the Meridan restaurant and Jenson our cabin steward. Britannia certainly pulled the stops out with the entertainment this cruise it was spectacular on deck and in theatre, you had to queue early to get a seat in theatre even though they did 3 shows a night it was full half an hour before show started. We did three shore excursions with PO and all where very good with knowledgeable guides on the coaches and the shuttle bus in other places was well organised. Sort the boarding out and back too 5 stars next time.
This was my first time on a P&O ship and I really hope it won’t be my last! We had a brilliant 7 night cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. Unfortunately the weather stopped us getting to Olden, which I was really disappointed by (but obviously can’t be helped). But the captain managed to adjust timings so we could sail in early to Flam, meaning we still had a great experience of sailing through some beautiful Fjords.
Iona is a beautiful ship - clean, classy and really accessible in my wheelchair. Staff were professional and accommodating, always offering help, especially in places like the buffet. Not having to stress about accessibility meant I could truly relax and enjoy my holiday. I’d love to have known how to get a hoist to use the pools on board, as this wasn’t made clear and I wasn’t sure who to ask. But apart from that I was well looked after.
I hope I’ll be able to sail on other P&O ships and on different itineraries in the near future!
Great value holidays, staff on board were fantastic and there are plenty of options to fill your time on board. Good choice of food, restaurants and bars.
1st time on a P & O cruise. Very well organised. The ship Azure was in my words 'Hugh', but well maintained and clean. Very conscious of health problems (ie washing of hands etc). Staff very pleasant and happy to help. Lots to do on board. The ship is slightly confusing to navigate, but that becomes part of the holiday vibe, as long as you know where your cabin is. We were sorry to come home
Just got back from a short cruise on Aurora and had the most amazing time, special thanks to Troy in Sindu who was the most friendly attentive waiter ever, and our butler Raj who went the extra 200 miles at every opportunity. Thanks to all staff on a wonderful ship who made a short break so amazingly special.
We have just returned from a mini cruise to Guernsey on Aurora,it is our favourite ship to cruise on, the entertainment was excellent especially the Headliners one of the best shows we have seen on a cruise. Good food options, staff friendly and very helpful. P&O are the cruise company that we would always choose cruise with.
Just back from 7 nights to the Greek Isles from Malta onboard Azura.
Lovely cruise and stops in very hot weather.
Restaurant food was generally good, but could do with a couple more vegetarian options to be on offer.
Cabin was clean and had enough room. Balcony was probably the biggest ever experienced (aft facing), despite being partly obstructed by a steel column.
Ship was a little noisy and a lot of vibration when docking using side thrusters, but that might have been due to being in aft facing cabin.
Headliners Theatre Company was very good. Some of the other entertainment was good, just not my style.
P&O do need to improve their communications from their help centre. I submitted a query 3 or 4 weeks prior to departure about times in port. Still not had an answer - not good enough. Also not good enough that they don't publish port arrival and departure times, unlike other cruise lines.
Embarkation and disembarkation process very well organised. Staff onboard the ship and during embarkation & disembarkation very pleasant, helpful and always smiling.
Overall, 4 out of 5 for me.
Cruised on the Arvia 22nd June to 6th July 2025. What an amazing ship, could not fault anything with it. From boarding at our allocated time to getting to our room was quick and easy. Beautiful clean cabin and our cabin steward was a lovely person and kept our room spotless, the tea tray stocked up and supplied the biscuits every day along with some towel sculptures. Staff throughout the ship were professional and friendly even though they worked long hours and miss their families back home. Food was plentiful and a good selection of choices wherever you go and in the Horizon the food was always hot. The Olive Grove was lovely. The food in the snack bar by the pool was delicious with a great choice. Entertainment was good and only a couple of times did we have to book, other times we went straight in. I would advice booking the 10/7 club as soon as you can if you want an earlier show. Rylan and his band are absolutely amazing and not to be missed. The entertainment team were brilliant with their quizzes and the Battle of Brodies was good fun. The gym is massive and has every bit of equipment you could think of. Weather was perfect and although there are plenty of sun beds around I must say that some people have no consideration for others and P&O need to enforce the rules a bit more. I don’t like to sunbathe and could always find a nice chair or lounger in the shade. Although there were quite a few children on board, they all seemed to be quite well behaved and were having a good time. All in all we had a fabulous time, met some lovely people and will be doing it all again In the near future. Well done P&O Arvia and all your lovely and conscientious staff.
Had an awesome experience on board the Norwegian Fiords cruise. The ship was always very clean (which must be quite a challenge) given how huge it is. The choices in terms of food, activities and entertainment were great. Staff super friendly and helpful.
Really nothing to complain about, except their website which says the ship has sailed on the day of the sailing before the embarkation time. That gave us quite the fright! So get everything downloaded beforehand because you CANNOT access your account on the day of sailing (which is super weird).
I've been trying to change my drinks package for my cruise which is later this year. I have emailed (no response), phoned numerous times (no response and they just disconnect you) and spoke to them via their social media (which they've said I have to phone them). The live chat on the website doesn't work either. Really poor customer services.
