Review summary
P&O Cruises is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
It was just a lovely cruise. There was everything we wanted and being very much older, plenty of time to relax if needed. The staff are amazing, respectful and welcoming. The Baltic cities are wonderful sights and the talks by Dave Wright were inspirational and riveting. We went to every one. Loved every minute
What a beautiful ship, staff, food, drink, rooms the whole experience was memorable, my first cruise and a fantastic experience with great and beautiful locations visited in Norway.
Have recently returned from PO Britannia 10 anniversary cruise of the British Isles which we had been really looking forward to as it was visiting places we haven't been to before, although disappointed they cancelled our trip to Edinburgh. The cruise got off to a bad start for us it took nearly two hours from dropping our luggage off to actually get on to the ship (usually takes 20-30 mins) so was not happy it was exhausting and would have put of off if it was our first cruise. Luckily it all improved from then on and we had a fantastic and relaxing cruise. Food excellent and staff very friendly in particular Akrita and Stanley from the Meridan restaurant and Jenson our cabin steward. Britannia certainly pulled the stops out with the entertainment this cruise it was spectacular on deck and in theatre, you had to queue early to get a seat in theatre even though they did 3 shows a night it was full half an hour before show started. We did three shore excursions with PO and all where very good with knowledgeable guides on the coaches and the shuttle bus in other places was well organised. Sort the boarding out and back too 5 stars next time.
Dear P&O Cruises Customer Services,
My wife, Nicky, and I are currently halfway through our incredible cruise on the Arvia, and we can’t wait to share our enthusiasm for the 710 Club and its extraordinary band. This intimate venue has already become the standout experience of our trip, and we want to make sure you know just how exceptional this group is and the value they bring to your ship.
Walking into the 710 Club feels like stepping into a hidden gem—its vintage charm, soft lighting, and perfectly crafted cocktails create an atmosphere that’s both sophisticated and welcoming. But the real magic happens when the band takes the stage. Pianist Ryan, drummer Louis, bassist Sasha, and guitarist Chris are nothing short of phenomenal. We were astonished to learn they’ve only been together for four weeks, as their performances are so tight and polished, they could easily headline a professional gig anywhere.
Their musical range is incredible, covering everything from timeless classics to modern hits, ensuring every guest finds something to love. What sets them apart is their ability to connect with the crowd. Every session is filled with energy, laughter, and moments that draw everyone in—Nicky and I have been singing along, swept up in the joy they create. Their talent and charisma make each night feel like a special event, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit to the club before the cruise ends.
The 710 Club, with this remarkable band, is a highlight of the Arvia experience, and we can see how much it delights fellow passengers. Ryan, Louis, Sasha, and Chris are a treasure, elevating the ship’s entertainment to an unforgettable level. We urge you to recognize their immense contribution to passenger enjoyment and ensure this talented group remains a cornerstone of the Arvia’s offerings.
Thank you for making our cruise so memorable already. The 710 Club is a shining example of what makes P&O Cruises special, and we can’t wait to enjoy more of it!
Best regards,
James and Nicky
Just back from our first ever cruise - one week to Norway on Iona. My wife and I for sure went into this new experience open minded, inquisitive, naive, inexperienced, somewhat reticent and perhaps with just a little nervous skepticism.
What a fabulous time we had - we loved every second of our holiday, from embarkation to disembarkation. Efficient and regular communication with P&O prior to the tour really provided us with the knowledge to proactively plan head (along with copious numbers of YouTube reviews etc). Everything ran smoothly, slickly and we were able to experience a great majority of the key 'experiences' Iona and the cruise had to offer. Staff were faultlessly helpful and couldn't do enough for us - all with a can do attitude and smiling face.
Food was great, - diverse and of high quality - we were able to eat across all levels of dining, which mostly didn't disappoint.
Despite a near to capacity boat, our fears of endless humanity, queues, frustrating waits, limited choice of restaurants, over-busy bars/restaurants etc. were not realised at all, and we were able to find a seat, get a drink, have a meal wherever we wanted, find a quiet spot and escape with relative ease.
Off-ship trips and excursions, whilst rather expensive if booked via P&O, were of high quality and had excellent local guides; these were real highlights for us........particularly biking, both standard and e bikes. This allowed us to experience our Norwegian Fjord ports, slightly further afield in some stunning locations.
For sure we will go again........and we are just a little concerned that might just turn into serial cruisers!!
Thank you P & O.
We've just returned from our Norwegian happy cruisers!
We've just returned from our Norwegian cruise on Iona. First time cruisers.
We enjoyed every single moment.
Excellent food, entertainment, service & comfort.
We had an inside cabin (did fret a bit that we had made the wrong choice) couldn't have been happier with our choice.
We booked a second cruise to The Caribbean on Arvia in Jan, also inside cabin.
Can't wait.
Just returned from a seven night Cruise on Azura we opted as usual for a Balcony cabin and was in room 735R on deck 14
we are avid cruisers and have reached carribean class in our golden years and will certainly NOT be spending any more holidays aboard the Azura
We have been on numerous cruises on Iona Arvia and Azura but on this ship the standards have deteriorated
Our shower tray was in need of renovation and we decided to wear flip flops to avoid any issues this was a talking point with other passengers along with the lack of food choice in the main Buffett which centres around
Indian /oriental cuisine unlike Iona and Arvia where you have other alternatives
It certainly appears customers are being expected to pay top prices which are the same on other newer ships in the fleet and competitive operators
We accept this ship is not the newest in the fleet but needs an urgent renovation customers have a choice and our choice has already been made regarding Azura
Which was a wow class ship of yesteryear
We are now looking other operators in our retirement as we feel P&O are not meeting our requirements
An official complaint has been submitted along with photographic evidence of other issues to P&O
Just returned from a week on the Iona ( Norwegian Fjords) - first timers!!
You know it’s something special when the husband says after our package holidays next year, he will only ever book cruise holidays. Currently on the hunt for our 2027 cruise holiday:)
Big shout out goes to Christian, Frankie in the Coral restaurant who became like surrogate sons for my mum - and Stanley our cabin steward who went above and beyond everyday .
Just come back from our first cruise, loved every minute. Staff were amazing, cleaners, bar staff, restaurant staff, everyone so wonderful.
Such a variety of food and drinks available. Entertainment was very good, something every day for different age groups. Cleanliness was 2nd to none 👍
My only gripe was rude people but that's nothing to do with P&O.
All I would say was to monitor the system regarding putting towels on beds, leaving them there and going ashore, naughty really if people stay on the ship. Selfish but again, nothing to do with P&O.
Excellent cruise, will definitely do another 👍
Pregnancy Policy Hidden – Denied Boarding Without Warning
We were denied boarding because I would reach 24 weeks pregnant during the cruise — something we were never clearly told at the time of booking. This “rule” was buried in the small print of their terms and conditions, not flagged or made obvious.
Staff at the port were rude and dismissive, and we were offered no help, no refund, and no understanding. We were left stranded and devastated.
P&O Cruises take your money, hide behind the fine print, and show zero compassion. If you're pregnant or want basic human treatment, avoid them.
______________________________________________
Thank you for your response, but I find it unacceptable that you're placing full responsibility on the travel agent when this is your policy. If a rule is important enough to deny someone boarding, it should be made clear and prominent — not buried in your booking conditions.
Regardless of who took the booking, it is your cruise, your policy, and your responsibility to ensure that passengers are aware of such critical restrictions. At no point did anyone from P&O make this known before travel, and your staff at the port treated us with no compassion or care.
Deflecting blame does not excuse the fact that we lost a holiday through no fault of our own. We were simply following the advice given, and your refusal to offer any resolution or goodwill speaks volumes about how little you value your customers once you've been paid.
Just returned from a trip to the fjords on IONA, it was our first cruise and I would say I was very impressed.
The ship was full and they still managed to make you feel special. The only thing I would say is the seating in the venues at night is very limited so you do tend to miss out on a lot of the shows.
Overall I would recommend this trip during this time of year and to this destination as a first toe in the water cruise.
