I cannot recommend PCS Legal highly enough for their outstanding support and guidance throughout the process of purchasing our first property. From start to finish, they made what could have been an overwhelming experience incredibly smooth and stress-free. If you’re looking for a solicitor who genuinely cares and goes above and beyond, look no further. I am so grateful for their expertise and support in helping me achieve such an important milestone!
We had a lengthy sales process with a couple of buyers not completing, through no fault of us or the legal team. PCS Legal were always professional and ploughed on regardless. Finally completed today and really happy with everything they did. Great service. Will be using again.
Charlotte was incredibly understanding and professional. She outlined all the steps we had to take to get the deeds of our properties transferred into both our names. She was remarkably efficient, completing the process in just a couple of weeks.
So again I found myself with PCS on the other side. Again found them Incompetent slow and pathetic. When buying property from now on if PCS are involved in the chain I will withdraw
PCS Legal eventually completed on 31/01/2025 on a conveyance that should have completed in November 2024, as a result of their repeated errors and omissions, loss of documentation, repeated delay, failing to engage with my (selling) solicitors, re-issuing of Enquiries that had already been answered, lack of understanding of ground rentals, failure to obtain searches on time (claiming they had not received local searches when they had). Whilst the fee earner who did the work, Luke Neale, uses the designation ACILEX, CILEX have confirmed that he is not subject to any professional accountability to them. Whilst PCS Legal have objected to the earlier version of this review and I have provide further clarification and an update in this review, there remains nothing stated in this or the original version of the review that is not borne out by the facts and evidenced in writing.
A big thank you to Paige O'Brien for her tenacity to finish the sale of my late parents house. It felt like we sold the property three times the first two failing late in the process but thankfully we completed the third. Thank you PCS LEGAL.
They are a very good organisation that keep you up-to-date with progress and answer any queries you may have.... Very polite to deal with ..
Paige and her assistant, Henna, were patient and professional in dealing with our difficult sale. Always courteous and friendly throughout.
Really, I can't imagine how this company could give worse service. We tried to use them to sell a house. It was a very simple transaction - there's no chain and we're not buying anywhere. PCS don't answer the phone, even when you hang on for hours. They rarely answer emails. It's just impossible to get them to do anything. We've wasted hours and even days pointlessly phoning and emailing, trying to speak to someone. On one occasion we had a form to sign but it wasn't clear where on the form we should sign. We emailed to ask and got no reply so we had to guess where to sign. Sent the form back and heard nothing so we assumed all was good. Several weeks went by and they suddenly said they can't exchange because we signed the form in the wrong place. Right now, it looks like they haven't asked the buyers for the money for furnishings that we asked for and we've already exchanged, so they may have also lost us £2,000 which we can't get back.
PCS Legal must surely be the worst conveyancing law firm in the UK. I get that solicitors may be difficult to get hold of at times, and routinely ignore emails and phone messages, but PCS takes incompetence to a whole new level. PCS Failed to advise upon the existence of a legal charge against my property, and failed to offer advice upon how I should go about having the charge lifted. This is the sort of things which you pay solicitors for, right? In fact, PCS seemed not to care whether this omission derailed the entire sale and purchase chain, or not. Complained to PCS client service team, who rejected my concerns without having properly investigated the issues highlighted, despite having taken more than twice their promised response time to carry out said review. Following eventual completion, PCS withheld my balance payment due (Some tens of thousands of pounds!) without reason or explanation, failed to provide a completion statement, and then failed to make a payment to my estate agent from remaining balance, again with no justification or explanation. There are other complaints, such as double charging for identity checks and money laundering checks which, at the time, infuriated me, but now I've just become a little numb to it all. Again, it seems that the client care team really doesn't. Still they have not replied to my closing complaint submitted in early December. I just cannot believe that a self - proclaimed "professional" law company can operate in such a slovenly, unprofessional manner, and care so little about its reputation? First edit: Thank you for your reply. I actually complained during October, so your reply to my complaint took two months, waaaay beyond your promised reply time of 28 days. In the event, I rejected your reply, as it was very evident that no effort had gone into generating the report, containing, as it did material inaccuracies and falsehoods. I complained again in December, which your team has not as yet replied to, a further 2 months down the line. I'm astonished that your conveyancing team are as poor as they are, but I'm even more astonished that your client care team are useless also. If you feel that you would like to spend a little time, effort and money to improve the professionalism of your organisation, I would be more than happy to help with this through a short consultancy project with yourselves. At the moment, your company is just wide open to criticism and even litigation, as no one appears to know what is going on, and worse than that, no one seems to care. Best regards Dr G W Sutton
Daman took excellent care of me throughout my home purchase process. He was incredibly attentive, and his consistent communication made the experience much less stressful. I would highly recommend Daman and his team
Charlotte Cullingworth from the Basildon branch dealt with my conveyancing. Despite being off initially on annual leave, she dealt with completion swiftly and communication was excellent. I would recommend and use again. Thank you!
We had two different solicitors, one for the sale of our property and one for the purchase of our new build. About 2 months into the process it became very confusing dealing with both so with our permission Liam Ridyard of PCS Legal (our purchasing solicitor) took over both aspects of the process. At that point the whole sale/purchase transaction became much more straightforward. Liam worked tirelessly to ensure everything went smoothly. In the end a very professional service.
Daisy did my conveyancing and everything was brilliant. Highly recommended
We used these to complete the sale that was already started on my late brothers property. Solicitor was changed halfway through to Max and full information not passed over, communication poor, emails not replied to, incorrect info given, phone messages not returned. Was completed but stressful experience with them. They increased their fees from the price they had told me 2 months previous without any discussion just took the payment from funds received. They have also held onto additional funds from the proceeds to pay a debt but once settled was meant to send us the remaining amount (over 2.5k) which at the point of writing this over 1 month post sale still hasn't been returned! Also emailed their customer complaints email but still no response. Horrendous client service. Wouldn't recommend at all!
If you have the choice please avoid this company at all costs. I have just been reading previous reviews and noticed that our situation is not a one off. The communication is extremely slow. We were assigned Team Quebec for the transfer of a property. Paige O Brien was the case handler. Communication is extremely slow. If you call, they do not answer or on the occasions that they did Paige was always busy in a meeting. She has never called me back either. Our case is still dragging on - PCS Legal confirmed they had completed all the work for the transfer of the deeds in July '24. We went onto purchase a new property and through the diligence of our new legal team it transpired that PCS Legal / Team Quebec had not completed the paperwork correctly and had not submitted all the paperwork to the relevant parties - which has jeopardised our new transaction. It's been 3 months since this has unraveled and PCS Legal / Team Quebec have not corrected/submitted the paperwork , are very slow at responding and never pick up calls. The Directors do not respond either, it's a total shambles. Our seller is getting really frustrated and we are the brink of a deal collapsing due to the incompetence of PCS Legal. They have caused us a huge amount of personal stress and their actions are also having financial implications! Really would not wish this open anyone. The only option we have is to deal with this through the Legal ombudsman.
We used PCS Legal when selling and purchasing a domestic property. This was not our first experience purchasing a property and so we know from prior experience that we received horrendous customer service this time round. Leanne Sallis and her team caused a huge amount of heightened stress in what is naturally already a stressful process. We found ourselves having to repeatedly call/email before we had a response to a very basic question or a just simple update. When calling the extension number to speak directly to Leanne and/or her team it was rare that they would answer and any messages left with reception were either not passed on or not responded to. There were multiple occasions that Leanne/ the team incorrectly stated that they were still awaiting responses to enquiries and/or documentation from other solicitors as an excuse for delayed responses. We would then have to forward emails that we had been cc'ed into that clearly had attachments and responses to their enquires weeks ago. Around a month away from our completion date, we had emailed Leanne/ the team in relation to outstanding enquires. We did not receive a response for over a week (even though we had chased). We were then told that Leanne had been on annual leave and that it would be dealt with upon her return. We understand that everyone is entitled to time off work and have no issue with her taking it, but it would have been appreciated if we had been told as we wouldn't then have wasted our time chasing. Two weeks away from our proposed completion date, Leanne had not responded for days to multiple emails sent from us, the estate agent of our onward purchase, the estate agents from our sale, our buyers solicitors and the solicitors from our onward purchase. She literally went AWOL and was uncontactable. Then (I am actually still in disbelief that this happened) we received an email with everyone in the chain cc'ed from Leanne that said "There is no requirement currently for us to respond (...) As the level of communication on your cases has become a hindrance to general proceedings, due to large volume of calls and emails, a response will be provided only where necessary". Even the estate agents that were cc'ed into that response were gobsmacked and said that in their entire career they had never seen such a rude and unwarranted response. Overall, whilst we did finally manage to complete, I would NOT recommend using PCS Legal unless you have an incredibly low blood pressure and are willing to lose sleep.
Don't bother using these, they never return a call. Wasted 4 months of my time so far.
Amazing service, always to hand to answer questions, always obtains clarity, and has been great to work with! Thank you Stuart and the team at PCS Legal.
