Review summary
Paisley Freight has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and reliable, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
Booked a collection. Was given a 2 hour expected collection time. Was in my garage getting it ready for collection. They rung my doorbell and 60 seconds later left. It takes me that to walk from my garage. After speaking to paisley freight the supervisor is rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend
I recently sent two bikes with them via their courier partner. I couldn't believe the damage that was inflicted to both bikes on separate occasions. I seen photos of the damage and I must admit it was shocking. The bikes where properly packed up in bike boxes with internal wrapping for more protection. I have sent bikes in the past with no problems until now. Both of these bikes where practically brand new as well. One of the pictures it looked like the box had been run over by a lorry? That was bad enough but what was really terrible was the lack of support and negative responses from them about trying to resolve this or indeed make a farcical claim through their so called insurance, it looked liked you had a form to fill in that asked everything from you which wasn't really all that relevant in my mind? My feeling is that this was to put you off claiming (maximum £100)? Anyway shocking service from them recently and would never use them again.
I have used Paisley Freight twice recently. I should not have used them again after the first instance.
The first time I used them they did not collect my parcel on the date specified. It was vital that the parcel got to the recipient the following day hence booking a next day delivery service. When I questioned why the parcel had not been collected I was merely told that they could not guarantee collection. Unusual premise for a company that specialises in parcels. I ended up having to request a refund and send the parcel on a same day service from elsewhere which cost a very large amount.
If that didn't put me off I decided to give them another chance and send a set of wheels with them. Now, I must firstly say that this is as much my fault. However, I am unhappy with the service. I packed the wheels in pairs instead of individually. I note that they specified they should be packed individually however I did not notice this at the time of booking. The parcels were collected by the courier who said nothing and then they were refused at the depot. I got this email from PF at 5:30pm despite them closing at 5pm. After emailing them they informed me that they will be dropped back off to me today and I will be refunded less £9.99 for the inconvenience. This is a ridiculous price, it is 33% of the original price of the booking.
I must say that on the second occasion the customer service was better. I phoned the office on the first instance and was dealt with by someone rude and unhelpful. On this occasion I did not manage to have any charges waived but Carol was generally polite and I direct no complaints towards her.
I would recommend anyone wishing to use a courier to use Interparcel instead or someone similar. Paisley Freight specialise in car parts such as wheels, etc but ultimately they are just parcels and can be handled by any courier.
Sent a bike using Paisley Freight. Good price, and I paid £10 extra for a bit more insurance. I guess you get what you pay for.
I wrapped the bike up in heavy 8mm corrugated card, plus lots of bubblewrap. However when it arrived at the buyer, the front forks had been badly mangled; shocking damage, which can only have been caused by severe abuse.
Paisley Freight just say 'it wasn't packed properly' and that is it; no compensation at all.
Well, I was really worried after reading all the reviews online but I had no problems with the Paisley Freight service.
I bought a mountain bike from ebay and the seller used PF to send it to me in the north from the south. He did package it really well, which I think is a must as I noticed nothing was fastened down in the van that the bike came in. The only gripe I suppose is that I couldn't get an ETA, so I had to wait around all day and it didn't come next day (took a day and a half) but I had it delivered to my work so no real problem.
Terrible service! Do not touch with a barge pole! I chose paisley as they seemed to specialise in bike collection and delivery next day. I needed to get my sons bike down to London for his birthday! Waited in all day, no noticd of arrival, pm or am, anyway it went to a contractor. When it finally arrived the frame was damaged on the rear stay. So my advice dont bother with Paisley! Worse delivery service in the UK
Bad,bad bad. Rip-off insurance not worth a bean, packaging bought from them, they then declared same packaging inadequate.
Late delivery and damaged bike, insurance claim rejected. BUT PayPal came good and I got a full refund for at least my payment to this bunch of no-hopers.
AVOID
Paid to get five brand new 17 inch alloys with tyres collected, they were on a pallet, wrapped and strapped down. The collection driver was not happy in the least as he expected them to be loose, on his own merit he started stripping the pallet and threw one wheel angrily into the back of his van, at this point the collection address store man stopped him taking any more for he scratched the first one. Thankfully the seller phoned me right away to tell me what had happened. They re packed the wheels onto the pallet and i arranged a palletline to go and collect. The collection was in England so Pailsey Freight had no control over the manner in which they are collected. Got an email after i cancelled Paisely Freight saying they would refund me, just checked my bank no refund as yet.
I certainly won't be using Paisley Freight for anything although in this occasion the circumstances may have been outhwith their control.
WARNING DO NOT USE PAISLEY FREIGHT IT WILL COST YOU
I booked and paid for a delivery online, but their driver or sub-contractor didn't show up on the day that I had booked the collection on. I rang the Paisley Freight Office but could not get a reply.
Our office was closed on the following day but on the day after that I checked our emails and saw that we had an email from Paisley Freight advising us that we had a missed collection (Their driver had arrived to collect on the day we were closed but not the day we had booked) The email stated that because we had missed the collection we had to pay a missed collection fee? (So we had to pay an additional fee on top of the initial booking fee because they did not arrive on the day we had booked!!!).
Unfortunately being the optimist that I am, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and put it down to circumstances and bad weather working against me, Foolishly I went and booked them again.
The driver collected on the date booked and took away my boxed item on the Thursday. The following Wednesday I received a call from my customer asking when I was going to send his goods, I explained that I had already sent them and that he should have received them before the weekend. I checked the tracking details and could see that it stated that I had recalled the item and prevented from being delivered. I rang Paisley Freight but again no answer. I went to email them and discovered an email from them demanding an additional payment because my box was over size! I checked the dimensions on their website and could see that my box was much (about 2/3rd) smaller than their stated max size. Therefore I could not see or understand why I was being asked to pay more? I tried to phone them but still no answer. I emailed but only received a reply stating I had to pay because my box was larger than their stated maximum, (It was NOT) so to get it delivered to my customer I paid an additional fee. However that was on the Wednesday so I hoped my goods would be delivered the next or following day, but no it was the Easter weekend and it sat in their delivery warehouse and was finally delivered on the following Tuesday. I have written to Paisley Freight explaining my dissatisfaction for their poor service but have not received any apology or explanation for their random charges so must assume that they are dishonest and are basically in my opinion Pirates who take your goods, charge a fee and for whatever reason they feel that they can get away with, they add more charges on and for this they provide a very inadequate non existent level of customer service. MY advice is DO NOT USE PAISLEY FREIGHT and I'm Not alone, just look at the bad reviews on just about every forum on the internet, read it and weep.
