After 6 months I'm still waiting for a car that was estimated as 2-3 months delivery. In total my experience with Octopus EV has covers 9 months. There are some positives such as their willingness to send me the actual recordings of the telephone conversations and the providing over 7 weeks of free rental car cover. Over that time I have ordered 3 cars and cancelled 2 of them. The support during the ordering process is excellent, however you are very much forgotten about during the delivery time which for me has slipped month by month on 2 of the orders I have placed. The excuses seem a bit random, one month my car was on a ship, the next it had been reversed back to the factory.
I cancelled my first order quite quickly after deciding that I preferred the Renault Megane E-tech over the MG EV4. However, after waiting nearly 3 months for a delivery date to actually firm up on the 2nd order I did some research and discovered that the Megane model being offered (Equilibre) was actually an old one from the previous year and no longer being offered by Renault so my three months back then were wasted. I then ordered a Megane E-tech Iconic. Hopefully my 6 month wait for that will end soon. At least the saga has generated months of cheerful banta in the office. We have been imagining the car was actually being hand built in a dusty French garage by two retired gentleman, Pierre and Jean-Claude arguing over the complex instructions.
