    Customer Service NON EXISTENT - UPDATED REVIEW 17/06/25

    ***UPDATE: I am updating my review because after I posted, Dani at Octopus has been nothing short of amazing. She kept me updated every step of the way and made my order a priority. Dani stayed true to her word, and even when there was another slight delay, she was open and honest with me. I received a lovely bunch of flowers from Dani and the team, who went the extra mile to apologise for the handling of my order. They also covered half the cost of a rental car. I now have my new EV and couldn't be happier! I am over the moon with it. Thank you again, Dani, for looking after me.*** I ordered a car though Salary Sacrifice with Octopus on 11/03/25, the order was confirmed by the dealership on 13/03/25 - everything up to this point ran smoothly. The original delivery date was 31st March to 5th May, since then the delivery date has changed 3 times with no prior warning and no communication from Octopus. I have only found this out myself through tracking the vehicle. I have contacted Octopus on numerous occasions and their response is always the same ... "the order is progressing as it should and the dealership will be in touch soon to arrange delivery" - bear in mind that this is what I have been told for the last 4 weeks and that the delivery will be mid to end of May, then I found out yesterday that the date had changed to June to July!! On April 15th, I was informed that the car was in the UK. Yesterday I was told by someone else that the car is not in the UK?! No explanation given! I have questions - where is the car that was in the UK? Was it given to someone else? Was it sent back? Was it stolen? Or was it never in the UK in the first place? I do not have a car and Octopus know this, I have been paying for rental cars. Octopus originally said I could have an interim car, but at a cost of £700 per month! They said I would have to wait approximately 2/4 weeks for this and due to the fact that my car was due in around 4 weeks, I decided to stick it out and wait and then the car was delayed again! I have been told different information regarding delivery dates, lead-times for interim cars, location of my car and Octopus do not seem to care or offer any real explanation as to what has happened with this!! I was originally getting a new car elsewhere before I went ahead with this scheme, but when my manager spoke to me about it, I cancelled the car I was getting and went with Octopus, and I now wish I hadn’t bothered. I feel extremely let down and I would not recommend this company at all!

    Customer Service at its Best

    I had alot of questions prior and post receiving my vehicle and Francis (from Octopus EV) was at hand to provide detailed responses and ensure any further queries I had were also answered. I thank him for his attitude and application, by provoding me with the information I needed, he made me feel comfortable. Overall the responsiveness to responding, the follow ups with the car manufacturer and insurance company as well as answering all my questions, was just the perfect example of GREAT customer service. Thank You Francis and also other Octopus EV staff who made the whole process of owning an EV absolutely smooth

    Initial Disappointment Offset by Honest Customer Service Response

    Update: Following my original review, I did proceed with the 200-mile round trip, uncertain if the funds had been transferred and fully aware I might be turned away. Fortunately, upon arrival, the vehicle was ready and the funds had been received. Dani, a Customer Care Executive at Octopus, reached out to acknowledge that the situation was far from ideal. She has been transparent about the shortcomings, confirmed that learnings have been taken from this incident, and has genuinely tried to make things right retrospectively. While the experience was undeniably frustrating, Dani’s response has prompted me to update my overall score to reflect the effort made post-incident. Original Review: Less than 12 hours before the scheduled collection of my new vehicle, I was informed that Octopus had still not paid the dealer—despite the delivery date being confirmed over two weeks ago. I’m now faced with the prospect of making a 200-mile round trip to potentially be turned away. This is for a vehicle worth over £100,000, with a substantial monthly lease payment attached. To make matters worse, I was cleared to sell my existing vehicle in anticipation of the new one, and I am now left without any transport at all. The entire process has been riddled with poor communication. My leasing handler, Hargun, has regularly failed to respond to emails—only engaging after I’ve had to call the helpline and escalate my concerns. This experience has completely taken the joy out of what should have been an exciting and memorable milestone. What I expected was a smooth, premium-level service. What I received was disorganised, stressful, and frustrating. Given the size of the financial commitment, the lack of professionalism and coordination has been nothing short of unacceptable. I cannot recommend Octopus based on this experience.

    Disappointing Experience

    Disappointing Experience – Serious GDPR Breach and Unexpected Price Hike I ordered a car through a salary sacrifice scheme and signed a contract, only to later discover that my personal information had been shared with the wrong employer — a clear violation of GDPR regulations. This serious data breach is deeply concerning, especially as my details were in their possession the entire time. To make matters worse, after signing the contract, I was informed that the monthly cost of the vehicle had increased by £40, without any prior notice or explanation. This experience has been both frustrating and disappointing.

    My experience with Jack

    My experience with Jack, senior EV expert, was absolutely outstanding! He made everything from the vehicle search to the sign off process so simple and pleasant - couldn't be more grateful!     Reassuring and helpful

    Reassuring and helpful. All the Octopus agents were really keen to help, confident and friendly. All the agents I've had dealings with have delivered and do what they say. There seems to be some communication issues with the ev lease company but nothing major.
