If I could give zero stars, trust me, I would this car company is probably one of the worst companies in America comes to service. They have no etiquette when it comes to business and taking care of customers they lie and try to blame customers for their deficiency, I rented the car to show up at the place just for the card not to be available in the associate. Try to blame me because I was late even though I was at the location before closed I called customer service to come to find out that she had lied to 24 hours to pick up your car not supposed to find a car and I’ll just tell you sorry you’re on a clock. That’s what this associate did then proceeded to call customer service And get an explanation why I did not have a car come to find out they did not have cars at that location for the entire day and the associate lied to me at the station they escalated my case to supposedly a regional manager to help me out and I never received a single call from any manager or any person Place companies like this eventually go out of business because they forget the customers are really what they fix their competency in terms of dealing with the public. I’ve only had one other customer service interaction that was worse than this, and that was with American Airlines where they lie to their customers to cover their ass like national car rental buyer beware looking through your history. It looks like they do not give a shit about their customers.

I placed an online booking through our corporate account on Thursday, 10th July. To my disappointment, I didn’t receive any communication until Saturday morning—only to be told that the vehicle I booked wasn’t available. This last-minute notice was frustrating enough, but what followed was completely unacceptable. The staff member who contacted me, claiming to be the manager, was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout the call. She spoke over me repeatedly, wouldn’t allow me to explain my situation, and her tone was downright abusive. As a regular customer who has rented from various Enterprise branches for years, I was shocked by this behaviour. If this is the standard of customer service from someone in a managerial position, it raises serious questions about the training and leadership at this branch. A manager should be setting the tone for professionalism—not contributing to a toxic experience. Needless to say, I will be avoiding this branch in future. I highly recommend others do the same until clear improvements are made in customer service and communication.

Arnaque véhicule loué à Édimbourg pour…

Arnaque ,véhicule loué à Édimbourg pour 5 jours. Aucun souci pendant le séjour ni restitution (clés déposée dans une boîte aux lettres). Et , 15 jours après notre retour, on nous réclame 500£ pour une 1/2 coque de clé manquante. Clé qui nous a été remise en main propre dans cet état, 1/2 coque manquante et scotchée, mais que nous n’avions pas malheureusement pas signalé. Cela ne gênait pas le fonctionnement du véhicule et le loueur ne pouvait pas l’ignorer car la clé avait était “temporairement” réparée par ses soins avant nous l’être confiée. Désormais, ils nous signalent que le véhicule a été immobilisé pendant 5 jours à cause de cette 1/2 coque manquante et appliquent des frais de dossier et de réparation exorbitants. C’est notre bonne foi contre celle du loueur. Nous sommes loin, difficile de s’expliquer et la restitution s’est faite dans une boîte aux lettres. Nous sommes piégés par un système qui défend le loueur mais pas le locataire, avec des mises en demeure inadmissible pour une 1/2 coque de clé en plastique comme si nous étions des délinquants. Aucune possibilité de discuter sauf peut être maintenant en portant plainte pour abus avec notre assistance juridique. Donc il est indispensable de noter tout défaut même minime lors de la réception d’un véhicule. Les assurances des CB ne prennent pas en charge les dommages aux clés. Donc aucun recours possible. Encore un exemple des arnaques rencontrées avec des agences de location de véhicules.

Beware National Roadside Assistance. Pay for the roadside when you rent

The branch employees themselves, outstanding. National's Roadside assistance is awful. The big slogan is your safety is our priority yet they made me put a donut on the rental jacking up my back and having me drive through East Saint Louis on Hwy 70 going 40 mph with the hazard lights on. No one in E St Louis cares if you have an issue. Better get out of the way. Probably the most harrowing experience of my life. One of the 5 people I spoke to in Roadside even hung up on me because I told him I was not pulling over on that hwy and calling the police.

Poor breakdown response time and excessive charges for a flat tire

Hired a car for 2 weeks. It developed a slow puncture on a country road in the dark in the middle of nowhere. I call breakdown service and the response time is 4-5 hours. I fix it myself using the kit in the back of the car. When I had the car back they immediately charge me 200 pounds for "damage", send me a threatening letter asking me to make an insurance claim through my credit card and then call me 21 times because I didn't response quickly enough. This kind of customer service tells you everything you need to know about why I'll be using a different car hire company next time

Das war wirklich das letzte Mal

Es ist ja nicht das erste Mal, das hier bei meiner Anmietung in Berlin etwas richtig schlecht gelaufen ist, aber es war für mich jetzt definitiv das letzte Mal bei dieser Firma. Gestern, nach 11 Stunden Reise, war das reservierte Auto nicht verfügbar. Auf Nachfrage wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass ich jetzt Nummer 20 (!!!) auf der Warteliste für ein Auto sei. So lange konnte ich leider nicht warten: -> Taxi. Dann Abholung am Folgetag: Der mir dann per Email zugeschickte Mietvertrag war fehlerhaft. Weder der Abgabetag noch der Abgabeort waren korrekt. Auf zweimalige telefonische Mängelanzeige (Callcenter) wurde mir dann mitgeteilt, dass die Reaktion der Autovermietung durchaus bis zu 5 Tagen dauern könnte. Geben Sie lieber ein paar Euro mehr bei einer anderen Autovermietung aus, das ist im Endeffekt billiger!

How they get your deposit.

Taking out a car in Edinburg Airport, zero tolerance policy in the tires. Returning the car there is a slight bulge not to be noticed if you do not know where you look for. So taking it out you do not see (except on the picture we took before you do see, looking back, a small damage. Then returning all off a sudden this is discovered and of course will costs only the 200£ deposit. They never charge more… but is feels though they do this every time. Even though we showed the picture of the damage before. And no, i don’t think many people when renting a car will go with their hands along the tire to feel if it is in perfect shape. So good scam going here… When returning the car, they are looking for something to claim. It’s all set up. If you want your deposit back, then DO NOT rent with National Car rentals. EVER.

Mietet hier kein Auto

Mietet hier kein Auto! Wir haben uns betrogen gefühlt. Für unseren letzten Berlinaufenthalt hatten wir online ein Auto bei National gebucht und bezahlt. Als wir das Auto abholen wollten, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass das gebuchte Auto nicht mehr zur Verfügung stehe, wir aber zu einem Aufpreis von ca. 60 € (die Miete des gebuchten Autos belief sich auf 90€) ein Fahrzeug einer höheren Kategorie mieten könnten. Ein anderes Fahrzeug der von uns gebuchten Klasse stand nicht zur Verfügung. Als Begründung dafür, dass das gebuchte Fahrzeug nicht zur Verfügung stand, sagte man uns, dass wir 20 Minuten verspätet zum Abholen gekommen seien. Von diesen 20 Minuten hatten wir unter anderem etwa 15 Minuten in der Schlange gestanden. Auf unser Nachfragen hin sagte uns die äußerst unfreundliche Leiterin der Filiale Schönefeld, bereits eine Minute Verspätung bei der Abholung des Fahrzeugs ermächtige National dazu, das Fahrzeug anderweitig zu vergeben. Daraufhin haben wir mit Expedia gesprochen, über deren Plattform wir das Auto gemietet hatten. Expedia erläuterte uns, dass National erst ab einer Verspätung von 2 Stunden das gebuchte Fahrzeug anderweitig vergeben kann und sagte auch, dass Autovermietungen üblicherweise diese Möglichkeit nie in Anspruch nehmen! Expedia hat dann für uns die Buchung storniert und uns unser Geld zurücküberwiesen. Glücklicherweise waren wir nicht in Eile und waren nicht gezwungen auf die halsabschneiderischen Konditionen von National einzugehen. Wir haben dann zum Preis von 80€ einen Car-Sharing-Wagen genommen.

Awful experience

Disgusting and dishonest practices. I was told very clearly “because you are a business customer you can return the car and we will refill it for you at 1.5E per L” I returned the car after having used about only 10L of fuel and of course….. I was charged for a full tank. I have been exchanging emails to protest this however the replies from “customer service” are rude, unhelpful and dismissive. I will never use National again if I can help it. Horrible experience

Impossible de s'inscrire à leur…

Impossible de s'inscrire à leur programme de fidélité "Emerald club" : 1/ le site demande obligatoirement une date d'expiration du permis, ce qui n'existe pas sur les ancien permis : premier appel à l'assistance, on met n'importe quoi dans le futur et ça passe (autant dire que c'est utile de demander cette date...) 2/ le site demande d'enregistrer une carte de crédit, mais ne l'enregistre pas (même après validation de la vérification bancaire), ce qui vous interdit de continuer. deuxième appel à l'assistance, qui me dit que "quelqu'un me rappellera" Il faut VRAIMENT avoir envie d'être leur client pour devenir client... à ce rythme, autant qu'il ferme boutique de suite.

So impressed by National Rental Car out…

So impressed by National Rental Car out of Dublin. Gerald assisted us with securing our rental with efficiency and great care. When we located our car in the parking garage, he even came to visit us as we settled in before taking off! Gerald asked us if the car met our expectations, and without hesitation, I assured him the car he selected for us was excellent. The gentleman in the garage also checked to ensure everything was good before we headed out to the west coast. Excellent experience! And a special thank you to Gerald! He’s a keeper:-)

Bonne expérience malgré quelques couacs

Suite à un problème de notre véhicule à Pau, un véhicule de remplacement pour 48 heures nous est fourni. Départ aéroport de Pau pour une restitution à Metz. L'un comme l'autre, nous avons à faire des professionnels qui nous prennent en charge. Malgré quelques couacs (pas le bon véhicule réservé, mauvaise adresse de restitution) une solution est trouvée à chaque fois. Je recommande pour ces deux villes.
