I’ve been a Lycamobile customer for over three years, but this recent experience has completely destroyed my trust in them.
In May, my bank account was charged multiple times for unauthorised £5 top-ups, totalling £55 during 2 days, despite my plan being set to a £5 monthly auto-renewal. This issue actually started in April, when I was charged £15 instead of £7.50. I switched to £5 per month plan. And about in 20 days this started to happen.
I emailed Lycamobile customer support on 28th May with all the details and bank screenshots showing the overcharging, but I have received no reply to date.
When I called customer service, the first agent said the auto top-up was in place and cancelled it for me. This clearly hadn’t worked, as more charges followed, and the second agent told me I wouldn’t be refunded — blaming something called “e-shop” and accusing me of using the data, which I never agreed to or initiated.
Even after they said the auto top-up was disabled the money still was taken from the account, and they refuse to acknowledge the issue or take responsibility.
This is unacceptable. At best, it’s a serious technical error they are ignoring. At worst, it's negligence.
Either way, the way I’ve been treated — with no resolution, no refund, and no apology — is appalling.
I will be switching providers and warning others.
Avoid Lycamobile unless you’re willing to risk unauthorised charges and complete lack of customer support.

Comment after Lycamobile reply. This is another excuse as I called customer service on 28th May, and was informed the auto top-up had been cancelled. Despite this, Lycamobile attempted to deduct funds from my account again on 31st May, 1st, 2nd and 3rd June, I have screen-prints to prove this.
