2006 model on 484000km mileage,check engine from pick.up guaranteed that will be ok. Van was not worthy for long travel and uphill road,its like crawling to the top. Gas consumption is terrible. Lucky... See more

Pick up from airport & drop off on time. Most importantly very reliable motor home, important to check your own vehicle hook up cable, water how to drain on-site gas stove light up & check prior to drive away please don't rush check out all is working.
Quite expensive (like all rental companies in NZ) compared to the quality of the facilities on offer
Replaced van immediately after it was broken into
we arrived to collect our vehicle, it wasnt ready and we had to wait for well over 2 hours for it to be ready. early on during this time our daughter broke her arm while playing and was very distressed but we still had to wait, along with many other customers - such a long wait and the poor guy that was serving us was all alone was just slammed - please get more staff when you have busy days, and allow time to get vehicles properly cleaned before you re-book them! such bad time management!! (we where offered the staff members car to use to go to see a doctor but after finding out that the wait for a doctor would have taken upwards of 5 hours so we chose to wait for our car and find a doctor out of the auckland area where the wait times where less lengthy and we could get partway to our destination.) when we got the car it smelled like urine - it continued to smell like this for the first 2 days before finally fading off. drop off was a longer affair too - i was late for my flight because as i was waiting to drop off the car (i had allowed extra time to do this given the ordeal of car collection, but it made no difference at all. as i was in line in the que a couple arrived, where jumped through the que by staff and given preferential treatment and where on their way in their rental car while i waited to be served along with 2 other people. it was a pretty bad experience all around to be honest and i expected alot more. we will not be back, and we will not recommend your service. we leave next week for another trip involving a different rental car company and i am interested to see how that goes, it could hardly be worse than the experience we had with lucky car rentals...which was rather, unlucky and unfortunate! (couldnt recal exact date but it was sometime in november 2022)
Friendly, helpful staff, camper van was clean and had no issues throughout my 3 week trip. Would definitely recommend!

My wide and our 2 and 6 year old had an excellent experience. The vehicle was clean, mechanically sound, and perfect for our family. Lucky was very reasonably priced and very helpful with anything we needed.
Very friendly people, made it all very simple. Helped us out when we couldn’t get tickets to for the ferry, sorted it all out really quickly.
Considering I only travelled on the South Island and received a toll when I arrived home for the north island on a date after I had returned the vehicle
I booked the Lucky Rodeo from LuckyRentals. The condition of the car wasn’t very good. The original car that was assigned to me appeared very beaten and the car door had squeaky sound when opening and closing and it had moss on the exterior. I asked if I could change to another car but the staff insisted that the car was still okay to use. Thankfully, when I was trying the car out, a kind person pointed out to me that there was a liquid leaking out from the bottom of the car, which was believed to be the coolant liquid. I notified the staff and upon checking with another staff, it turns out that the car requires further inspection, and that’s when they changed to another car for me. The 2nd car that they assigned to me looked better and newer, though the side mirror has to be manually adjusted (the control button in the car wasn’t working), which was the advice I got when I highlighted to the staff. Despite the not-so-ideal car condition, the helpline response was prompt and helpful. The car tyre went flat on my 2nd last day of the trip and I called the rental company and they sent someone to come and help me change the tyre within 1-2hrs to where I was (I bought the Worry Free Cover).
It was shocking. They gave me wrong pickup time. Van leaked and I got absolutely saturated as did bed and all my belongings was disgusting. They didn’t even care when I told them when I dropped van back. Will never go there again.
I sincerely hope that the vehicle you gave me has now been taken out of service, it was old, many functions no longer functioned and it was below standards as far as cleanliness was concerned
Just dont do it
We arrived at our scheduled time and had to wait 1 1/2 hours to get the van. When we got the van it was really dirty and the grey water tank valve was broken. After driving it off the lot we decided we couldn’t spend three weeks in such a grimy van. We returned it and waited another 45 minutes (understandable) for them to find another van. It was still dirty but not as bad as the first one. After a couple of days of driving it started to smell and realized the grey water tank was never emptied. When paying as much as we did for the van, I would at least expect it to be clean and the grey water emptied. Also we had to ask for a coffee maker (we were finally given a French press) and we were only given one blanket. With no heat and the temperatures in the forties at night, it was a bit chilly. We made do with extra clothing. Customer service was not great and the product was not clean. Luckily it did not break down.
The condition of the vehicle was very disappointing. Mould on the headlining, broken pres studs on the curtains and all sorts of rubbish jammed under the seats and behind the glove box. Having said that it did get the job done without any serious problems.

Got a free upgrade, because the other obe did not work any more (before we arrived). Very nice campervan! Everything worked fine.
where do i start.van was not road worthy.only 1 head light worked and side door would not close and open.fridge only worked when van was running even thou it had solar panel and 2nd battery.i paid for chairs and table + bedding which were not supplied.plus more but cant be bothered .was said i would get a refund of some of my money but surprise no refund.the only good thing was i left $900.00 fly rod in the van which was was returned.i was going to give them another chance this year but changed my mind.I would never use them again x0x0
