I’ve been reading other reviews and I’m glad that my treatment has been wonderful. I’ve paid at the office and I have paid through the portal with no issues. I am so glad that my counselor has been able to help me through the process of dealing with my depression, anxiety and mental health. I feel comfortable with him and we are a good fit. Thanks to Neil Weathers I’m getting better.

Chad Chang- LifeStance on Howell Ave. Milwaukee

I have been working with Chad Chang, started as couples therapy and transitioned into trauma therapy. I believe it’s important to make sure the therapist is right for you before really getting into the healing, having a therapist that treats each client with respect and humility makes a world of difference. Trust is important. A therapist that sees a person’s needs, has patience to meet the client where they are, and try different methods with a person in their journey to healing, being honest and transparent though the process is rare for people to find. Dr. Chang has these qualities he has great values. It shows through his work and his treatment of anyone who steps into his office.

If you want to get hounded by billing…

If you want to get hounded by billing all the time and have them never fix anything you tell them to, don’t use this company!! My therapist, Sabra Walters is incredible I’ve been with her since COVID began and it has really helped me through some hard times. Dr. Carrisimi has been a huge help too getting me on medication that has helped a lot and helps me adjust anytime I need to. I wish I could leave this company and go somewhere else but I have started over with therapists more times than I can count and I can’t do it again. They might kick me out though because they threaten me every time a bill is overdue that I can’t use the services anymore which is horrible to threaten your patients they can’t have access to mental health care anymore because of money. I don’t make a ton of money and they expect all of their patients to be rich to pay their prices. I am on a payment plan for past due balances and when I wasn’t they wouldn’t stop hounding me about getting on a plan. I live paycheck to paycheck I need money for other essential things and it seems like billing has no sympathy. I have a current balance and I don’t know why I have one when I was told they would charge my card automatically for each appointment and they never have. They keep changing systems and lying about billing processes and don’t keep their patients up to date on any changes. I have tried paying through their new portal but it doesn’t work. I just tried again today and it finally works but their idea of payment plans for current balances is a joke. Paying $1,000 a month to pay it off is not something any normal person can afford. Life is expensive and people don’t make that much money. My therapist also contacted them to change my insurance information and I never heard from them that it was updated. So since september my claims haven’t been going through because they won’t contact me to help change info. You would think if the doctor reached out they would get back to me but nope! How are you gonna beg for money but don’t get back to someone when info needs to be changed? They are so money hungry! There billing hours are also ridiculous as someone with a 9-5 job I cannot call during work hours and they always wanna call me at the wrong time then they close at 3 so I can’t even call after work so how am I ever supposed to get ahold of anyone? I hate this company so so much just how they handle billing alone. The providers are great.

Horrible Billing Department Policies

Contacted Lifestance Health about an overpayment. The Billing Representative indicated that she could not discuss anything related to the refund process with me as I was not the patient and she did not want to lose her job over it. When I indicated that other medical billing departments have no problem providing that information to the individual who is the primary insured she implied they were breaking the law. This despite the fact that they did not reveal to me any PII nor any protected medical information. When I asked if I would be contacted about whether there would be a refund, she stated she would call my wife if she hears anything about it. My wife later went online to fill out the form to share information with me. It turns out that the section for sharing medical information specifically excludes sharing billing information. Not being a native English speaker, she would have missed this disclaimer without my assistance. One has to scroll through and read each section to figure out which one shares billing information. Definitely the WORST form of it's kind I have ever seen, and I've seen well over a dozen of them. It certainly seems like LifeStance intentionally made it difficult for the primary insured to access billing information.
