Delivered to the wrong house and left outside their back door on the hottest and wettest day. No one attempted to deliver at our house. Resulting in some of the chocolates being stuck to the inner wrapping. Had to refrigerate immediately, which we don’t like doing with chocolate.

Excellent as always, delivered on time informed of delivery times & by Royal Mail, even better.! Neatly packed and all together with recyclable packaging.. My favourite chocolate delivered right to my door, perfect 👌 thank you Hotel Chocolat

Woking once again has an ice cream machine that does not work.... not because of the heat ! it regularly breaks down ! Come on MARS get a grip! Surely you can fix the machine!!! 32 degrees today, you lost a lot of business !!! Not good enough!

my 27 year old granson who lives away from me and loves chocolate received his birthday present from me today about 4-30 ,not fit for eating they had all melted in the amazon delivery van,i have always been pleased with your chocolates but this was a complete waste of time and money

I’ve been ordering Hotel Chocolat since the early 2000’s. I have introduced all my family and friends to the delicious chocolates ever birthday, Xmas, Easter and Mother’s Day. I won’t order chocolate from anyone else- EVER!

A lovely product that I wish was available all year long, not just for the summer. They are quite resistant to the heat, though... That said, why so much packaging?! This could have easily fit through the letterbox if not for the needlessly huge parcel it came in!

I buy these little gemstones fairly often and they are scrumptious. The packaging was very good and they were delivered when promised.

My sister's chocolates 🍫 turned up on time and she is delighted with them. A very efficient service.

Delivery by Amazon is a mistake in my view. Amazon’s tracker didn’t give a time slot, so I stayed in, but the driver didn’t wait for me to answer the door and left the chocolates by the front door on a very hot day. Royal Mail used to deliver for Hotel Chocolat. Their tracker gave an expected delivery time, the driver always waited for me to answer the door, although the chocolate box would fit in the letterbox if I was out.

Parcel was 'delivered' by Amazon courier and left on the step by the front door. My sister received a text message to say it has been delivered. She went downstairs within a few minutes and it was gone. This seems to be the norm these days - couriers leaving packages unattended rather than handing them over in person. So my sister didn't receive her birthday gift and I have lost money on overpriced chocolates and the "delivery" charge. I expect Hotel Chocolat to reimburse me and stop using these feckless couriers. Never had a problem with Royal Mail (touch wood). Lazy couriers/drivers are a big problem. I have raised such an issue just the other day with Parcelforce who driver left a parcel containing dangerous goods near the roadside when they could have easily come to the door and hand it over. UPDATE: My sister has seen a photo taken of delivered package by the courier. However, the photo is not of the front door of my sister's flat. The package was delivered to the wrong bloody building!! God knows where it is. Can't couriers read address labels?

The chocolate sachets are fabulous but the choice of delivery courier is poor. The parcel was left on the doorstep, in direct sunlight, in a heatwave, without ringing the doorbell or trying a neighbour! Very disappointing!

Bought the dapper dogs as a small thankyou from pet dog for my son for all the walks he gets. Arrived at time stated and look absolutely gorgeous. Hotel Chocolat have never let me down on taste and quality and I know he will love these as a fun gift.

The parcel was left in the log pile of the recipient's garden and she didn't find it until 24 hours later. It would be helpful in future if the courier could leave a photo of the parcel's location or leave a message in writing and post it through the letterbox.

I had a really poor experience with Hotel Chocolat and will be thinking twice before ordering again/ advise against anyone else ordering from them. I had ordered a gift well in advance for a close friend’s engagement, a meaningful moment I wanted to mark with something special. Despite ordering early, the gift hadn’t even been dispatched almost a week later, and I had to chase them to find out what was going on. I was reassured it would still arrive on time, but it never did. I followed up several times and was repeatedly told it was on its way, until they finally admitted it was likely lost. I had to push just to receive a refund, and was told as a “gesture of goodwill” they would still send the item, which of course never arrived. When I followed up again, I was told there was nothing more they could do and that if I wanted the item, I’d need to place and pay for a brand new order - which would arrive nearly three weeks later than originally planned. What made it worse was the condescending and dismissive tone from one of their staff members. This wasn’t just a late delivery, it was a complete failure to deliver on a promise for a meaningful occasion. I’d chosen Hotel Chocolat because of their reputation for thoughtful gifting and their so-called “100% Happiness Guarantee.” What I got instead was empty reassurances, a lot of back and forth, and an insulting offer of free shipping (which I already had), followed by a £5 voucher - a gesture that felt like a slap in the face. I wouldn’t trust Hotel Chocolat again for anything tied to a special occasion. They completely missed the mark, both in service and in empathy.
