    Avoid like the plague - incompetents and liars

    Took my BMW in for service to Group 1 BMW Servicing in Kentish Town in January and asked for a number of items to be dealt with under warranty. One was a vibration, which I advised could have been connected with a fault in the transfer box. When I picked the car up Chris Elderfield advised that they could not detect any vibration. A week later the car ground to a halt in central London smelling of diesel fuel and had to be recovered back to Group 1 Kentish Town. Chris E was (putting it politely) economical with the truth in saying that there had been a 'faulty clip' on the fuel filter that they had replaced during the service. More like a faulty mechanic..... Re-booked the car in a month later, when the vibration was so obvious that my dog could feel it, only to be advised that one mechanic thought it was a worn engine mount whereas another thought it was a worn propshaft coupling (yes, in a car that was less than 3 years old with 25,000 miles on the clock). They eventually agreed with my diagnosis that it was the transfer box and said, after a lot of debate with BMW warranty people, that they would replace the oil in the transfer box. They also admitted that if I had been paying for the work myself they would have just replaced the whole box! They kept the car in for a week and when I came to pick it up as agreed Chris E admitted that they had not actually done the work! So had to go in again.... How their average review score is 4 stars when there are clearly many 1 star reviews defeats me. This outfit is staffed by incompetent mechanics, is not utilising their resources properly (why aren't the mechanics doing overtime to work off the backlog of work?) and their 'Customer Service Manager' Mr Elderfield dispenses broken promises and lies. As others have said, this would be disappointing in any garage, but is just unacceptable in an outfit that services premium brands like BMW. The problem is that in my experience most London factory-approved BMW service outlets are equally incompetent and hold one to ransom during the warranty period. Thank goodness my warranty has now expired and I can take it to a proper garage that knows what it is doing.

    Car Service

    VW Bury were very accommodating as the service was scheduled for a convenient time, and, at short notice, as we were due to go on a long trip. Only downside is there is limited parking at the garage/dealership meaning my car has to be parked up on the forecourt,blocking other cars, while I checked my car in.

    i went here last week to look at a car…

    i went here last week to look at a car and ended up buying it. The only whole process was so smooth sailing and efficient.They aren’t pushy for you to get the cars like some other dealerships. I had Will Dodd as my salesman and he was brilliant. Can’t thank him enough.

    I was Excellently looked after

    I was Excellently looked after. Thomas did a great job handing the car over to me. It was immaculately clean and there was a large notice in the windscreen with my name on it congratulating me on my purchase. This really made me smile. Thomas went through the dash controls and gadgets and supplied me with a lot of freebies - which was a big surprise. I’ve never been treated like that before EVER when buying a car from a dealer. Very impressive indeed. It means I will probably never go anywhere else for a car again. Gold Stars 🌟 (I need to give a mention to Ryan who originally sold me the car but was poorly so couldn’t hand over. Ryan was very accommodating and helped me choose the right car without ‘pushing me’ one way or the other). The whole Warrington dealership is extremely customer focused and a credit to Group1.

    Avoid Group 1 Auto, False Promises & Lack of Transparency

    I would exercise extreme caution before buying anything from Group 1 Auto. Their Manufacturer Approved and Approved Used claims are misleading marketing tactics used to sell defective vehicles, with undisclosed resprays and questionable quality control.As was in our case. Anyone considering purchasing from any of their outfits should hire an independent specialist to thoroughly inspect the vehicle before committing. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing—this dealership operates more like a "cowboy car sales outfit" than a reputable seller. It’s shocking that people still trust them with servicing after experiences like this. Buyer beware. And always check their claims.

    I booked a security update online

    I booked a security update online, receiving email confirmation and a confirmatory phone call prior to my attending. Upon arrival, I was greeted at vehicle drop off and after leaving my car with them, I was taken to a large open plan showroom/customer waiting area. I was immediately offered a complimentary cappuccino. I used the customer wifi whilst waiting 1 hour for my car, being taken back to my car once finished. The young lady who took me from vehicle drop off and back to my car was extremely pleasant and polite. Overall it was an excellent experience.

    The interior motion sensor was faulty

    The interior motion sensor was faulty. The alarm was going off randomly. Mercedes replaced it at huge cost but it didn’t repair the issue. The alarm still goes off randomly You asked for my details so that you can look into this. Please send me your email address so that I can do this.

    Organised Service Department.

    Very easy to organise and arrange. Meet & Greet Lady was very polite & helpful. Jenna Longdon in the Service Dept kept me updated of what was planned and felt comfortable to let Toyota to do what they had to do with no worries. Very patient, friendly, professional and thorough.

    Car taken in for a full service

    Car taken in for a full service on 30th April. As usual all staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful when I dropped the car off. When I went to collect it time was taken to fully explain how the Google Maps worked via the car's system and what to do if it stopped working again. I was also shown the completed health check and coding of the completed service carried out. Thank you

    A pleasant relationship - no pressure to buy, knowledgable staff

    Everybody was super helpful, especially the salesman, Kyle, who was very knowledgeable. I always trusted his opinion (unlike many used car salespeople I have come across in 60 years of motoring. He always took time to explain everything in detail to a slow learner and was on time with all the paperwork I needed to sign when required. He reacted with good humour when I tried to get a better PX, but I think we both arrived at a satisfactory deal.

    Awful

    Another shocking experience with Mercedes. I decided to use Warrington after having a number of awful experiences with Liverpool. Talk about jumping out of the frying pan and into the oven!! If you are planning on using this dealership and you’re expecting progress updates, I’d suggest that you pitch a tent in their car park. I made 19 calls over 3 days, and physically spoke to my ‘service’ representative, twice.
