    Problem fixed but it caused another issue

    My car was taken in for repair. The issue was resolved but they have caused another problem. They replaced the passenger wing mirror but now the passenger window only goes down intermittently when the button is pressed!

    Commission driven; ask and you 'might' recieve.

    Mercedes Benz Derby. Great call with the sales advisor and arranged to test drive. Sent a follow up email requesting all the warranty full policy wordings (Mercedes, extended Group 1 warranties, tyre, alloy and paint protection etc) but only recieved top sheets. Also asked for service history and if advisories (nail in rear near side) had been solved but that was omitted in the email response. Turn up for the test drive, PSI indicator goes off during the drive, pointing at the nearside rear. Either monitoring system failure or not took the nail out? Easy fix... the car is nice... so I give benefit of the doubt. Sit down to discuss warranties and finance, assured unequivocally by the sales advisor that warranties will cover me, "they're better than the approved used Mercedes warranty", etc etc. Skeptical but... Merc showroom... so benefit of the doubt. Then after reading the full policy wording the extended warranty excludes vehicles over 8 years old. I'm there to buy a 9 year old car, so why the hard finance sales pitch to get the extended warranty, and get me to buy £300 additional year on top? Maybe the £XXXX in commission they get. Order sheet also drafted wrong twice at incorrect sales price - I had to spot it. God help a vulnerable person if they turn up. Similar to my requests for the policy wordings, I have had to ask 4 times for my £199 refundable reservation fee back. Still haven’t recieved it. £2101 deposit was returned swifty, granted... but why am I following up 4 times to ask for £199 back and attaching reciepts yet still not recieving it? Will be avoiding all Group 1s. Can I have my money back please.

    Appalling Service Experience

    Appalling Service Experience – Twice Let Down by Mercedes-Benz Nottingham I booked my 150 K service with Mercedes-Benz Nottingham after years of reliable care at Mercedes Stratford. It was a mistake. First visit: I approved and paid for urgent front-brake work they said they could do that day—only to be told at collection time that the parts “weren’t in stock” and I’d need to rebook. They also claimed they’d cleared the tyre-pressure warning light, but it was still on when I started the car. Four days later I returned, having taken more time off work, and waited in the lounge for almost three hours. The advisor finally appeared to say—again—that the brake parts weren’t in the workshop. Two wasted trips, two days off work, and the TPMS light is still glowing. Repeated apologies don’t cover the cost, inconvenience, or the clear lack of professionalism and basic communication. Mercedes-Benz Nottingham has shown zero respect for my time or trust. If you value either, choose another dealership.

    Tilly was my Service Representative at…

    Tilly was my Service Representative at Audi Chelmsford and she is always absolutely fantastic at keeping me informed along the way, ensuring that the car is safe and in great condition after the service to avoid me having to come back again. I also appreciate the continuity of service which is not always easy to do, Everytime I have had to come into Audi Chelmsford- Tilly has been allocated to me and I am super happy with this.

    I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mercedes-Benz of Nottingham, and I must say it was one of the most exceptional customer service experiences of my life. From start to finish, the entire team demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and genuine care. A special mention must go to Jarrell Kirkland and Hasan, whose support and guidance made the entire journey of securing finance and purchasing the vehicle incredibly smooth. Their commitment went above and beyond — notably, Jarrell came in on his day off just to personally hand over the vehicle to us, which we deeply appreciated. I would also like to recognise Rohaan Asif, the receptionist at Group 1 Mercedes-Benz Nottingham. He was extremely courteous and helpful throughout our visit, assisting us during our vehicle search and making sure we were comfortable by offering refreshments and providing clear, timely information. I cannot thank the team at Mercedes-Benz of Nottingham enough for making this a seamless and memorable experience. Their professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction are truly commendable.

    Great service from Chelmsford Audi

    Great service from Chelmsford Audi, from easy drop off of keys to collection. I was kept informed by Karis and the car was nice and clean when I collected. I was told the fault might come back and unfortunately it has after about 60 miles, but im confident that it will be sorted with a replacement part.

    1 star because I couldn’t give 0. Absolutely terrible experience with group 1 VW Chester. They told me they were interested in buying my car, gave me the runaround and now the sales manager is flat-out ignoring me. I’ve called repeatedly—no response. I showed up in person, and he refused to come out and speak to me. Hiding in the back and sent the receptionist out instead of coming out and telling me the truth. If he wanted to back track on his offer then that’s fine but come and tell me that. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Don’t waste your time like I did. They clearly have no integrity and zero respect for people’s time. If this is how they treat someone trying to do business with them, I can only imagine how they treat their customers after a sale. This place is a joke. Avoid at all costs

    Booked my Range Rover Velar into JLR…

    Booked my Range Rover Vlar into JLR Chester for an oil seevice and MOT. Took the option stating would be waiting for the car The lady in service dept quoted 2.5hrs. and they would do a complimentary valet on the car inside and out. Turned up 2.5 hrs later to be told it would be another 45mins, without the valet, or another 1.5 hrs if I still wanted the car cleaned. I waited the additional 45mins and left with my dity car. Does it really take 4hrs to do that work. No. Work done okay but a little disappointed in the service. Also whilst waiting I took the opportunity to look/sit in most of the vehicles in the showroom. 45mins and no-one offered any assistance or help, very por sales staff, of which there were plenty, drinking coffee.

    There are plenty of other dealers to choose from…..

    Absolutely appalling service! I have driven Mercs for 20 years and have had numerous vehicles from numerous dealers but this is without doubt the worst I have had to deal with! When I change my car I would like to stay with the brand but I will not be buying one from a site within this group again. Communications are diabolical, telephones are never answered or are bounced round their various locations until somebody answers who has no idea what you were talking about. If after several attempts you are able to get through to the correct site, you are not giving direct answers just scripted “brush offs”. When booking my car in for a simple technical query I was asked to confirm my details (phone number and email) in order to confirm that they were up-to-date on the system - or at least that is what I was told. Over the following 36 hours, I received numerous emails which were nothing more than marketing new vehicles and special offer events in which I had absolutely no interest and I very quickly blocked their email account. At no time was I asked whether I wanted to go onto the marketing list and the ruse of confirming my contact details seems to have been bordering on outright deceit….. Further, after dropping my vehicle off, as I was waiting for my taxi I saw a technician drive my vehicle into the workshop. Around five hours later I called the service team and selected the appropriate menu option for an update. All I was told was that it could be anytime until 5 pm before it was ready. I do not regard this as a progress update and when I asked for more information, I was told it hadn’t even gone into the workshop yet. I found this very odd, as I had seen it being driven in at 9:15!! Make of that what you will

    Eye-wateringly expensive

    Privately, I had bought a Mini 2013 Cabriolet 2nd hand and put it in for their free healthcheck (2/4/25). There were a couple of issues highlighted which I did myself: wipers and number plates etc, but I thought fair is fair, I would ask them to do the lights. They hadn't quoted for this so it went in for an investigation and they quoted £240 to investigate and fix whatever they could. My jaw hit the floor when they quoted £810.52 to do this (21/05/25) - and this was in addition to the £240 which was already spent - over £1000!!! Obviously I got the car back having spent £240 with no work done!! I was so gobsmacked, I decided to sort it myself. I ordered the reversing/fog lights assembly from the mini spares website for £75, and three new bulbs from Halfords. This sorted everything except the high level brake light LEDs issue (the unit works, but a few of the LEDs are out. Luckily, not an MoT issue). Still absolutely staggered by the eye-watering price and lack of value for money!! Luckily, there are far better garages in Ipswich...

    Phenomenal service from Mercedes-Benz @ Stratford-Upon-Avon

    After arranging the test drive and collection of my car, on a specific date, I made the 2hr+ trip from London. I arrived and immediately had a warm welcome from the staff, offers of drinks, a seat, to look around the car, check for anything I wasnt happy with, etc. I was able to look in and around the car and then off I went for a test drive. I was sold! Mo, Semir, and the team were just brilliant, a credit to the dealership. They couldn't have done anything more to make me happy. Thank you ALL!! They ensured I was happy with everything, sorted the relevant paperwork, gave a few keyrings to go with the keys, ensured the car had all the extras that their advert said it came with, tyre compressor, sealant kit, warning triangle, Mercedes Benz First Aid kit, I was SO IMPRESSED!! They even helped my daughter out with her Mercedes GLA that she'd bought just 6days earlier from another dealer - They absolutely went over and above their call of duty that day!

    ⭐ 1 star GROUP 1 BURY

    ⭐ 1 star – Avoid at all costs! The most stressful and unprofessional experience I’ve ever had. I paid a deposit on a car at VW Group 1 Bury on 17th May 2025, and as I write this review on 2nd June, I still don’t have the car — yet I’m paying finance on it! At first, the salesman Aaron came across friendly and helpful. He showed us the car, let us sit inside, and promised it would be ready the following day. But after I signed the finance paperwork (which I was pressured to do early as a “favour” so they could hit their monthly commission target), everything changed. Communication stopped. I had to chase every update, and every time I did, I was met with excuses, delays, and complete disinterest. Aaron’s attitude deteriorated fast — from polite to rude, dismissive, and downright disrespectful. The manager Paul was no better — cold, unhelpful, and clearly more interested in defending his colleague than helping a paying customer. No one took any responsibility. I had to take two days off work to collect a car that was never ready. Eventually, I was left with no choice but to hand over my old car (which I still had active finance on), just to get the settlement figure paid and protect my credit score — something I had made clear from day one. After that, Aaron rang to say the old car had an immobiliser issue and had to be pushed into the workshop, promising an update “first thing” the next day. That update never came. I showed up at the dealership again in person, only to find my old car — which I was told was in the workshop — parked out on the forecourt with no wheels on it. Turns out they were refurbishing the wheels? So why were they doing cosmetic work when the vehicle supposedly couldn’t start? None of it made sense. The dishonesty and chaos was ridiculous. To top it all off, Paul completely ignored us in the showroom while smiling and serving other customers — no greeting, no apology, just blanked us like we didn’t exist. Aaron finally appeared with a face like thunder, acted like we were a nuisance, and when I explained I now had no access to either car that I was paying finance on, his response was: “Well, why did you bring it here then?” That says it all. Rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely careless. It’s now been over two weeks, I’ve had nothing but stress, anxiety, and broken promises, and still no car. I’ve received email after email asking me to review a vehicle I don’t even have. The lack of communication and customer care has been an absolute disgrace. Please think twice before giving this dealership your business. They don’t care once you’ve signed. They will leave you out of pocket, ignored, and angry. This is not how customers should be treated — especially not after committing to a £30,000 finance agreement. I finally collected the car on 5th June after weeks of delays and broken promises. Aaron claimed the damaged offside front tyre had been replaced as previously agreed—but this was a blatant lie. When I got home and inspected the vehicle properly, I discovered the damaged tyre had simply been moved to the nearside rear. As a qualified HGV mechanic, I knew this was a serious and dangerous defect. I have photographic proof, and the fact it passed an MOT at the same dealership is deeply concerning.
