Would rate zero if it was an option! A deposit was paid on 21/06 to which I was told the car would be held for 48 hours, since this was paid there was zero communication from the sales staff. I have had to call to find out next steps. On a return call I was told due to their sale targets I had to take delivery of the car before 30th June, number of logistics I had to sort out including a low figure to what I have been offered for my part ex therefore selling it to local dealership, and taking a private plate off to be able to sell the car. I wanted to take delivery of the new car with my private plate on as I have with every other car I have purchased. I spoke to a “manager” Tom and I was appalled at the discussion which took place, he was not customer focused or led and all he kept saying is if I can’t take delivery of the car before end of June then he will refund my deposit! I made Abi aware that I could not take delivery before June due to going into hospital, and yet even though I am willing to pay for the car before this date (which would constitute a sale! ) There was no “service” offered for a deliver 1st week of July. Very poor from a customer perspective and I am every disappointed that this is my interaction that I have had with Group 1.
As always, great service from the team at Mercedes, particularly Mia. I pay monthly for a service plan, it includes annual service, MOT and courtesy car, which is always interesting. So when I hand my car over for work to be done, it’s seamless. People may think I’m nuts paying for a service plan on a 13 year old B Class, but I love putting my car in the hands of people who know the car well.
DO NOT TRUST THIS GARAGE, THEY LIE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS! My 18 year old daughter purchased a 2021 Kia Sportage 3 from Max at this dealership. She was torn between this one and one at a different garage but chose this one as the better option because the salesperson suggested they would throw in a brand new set of mats and a full tank of fuel. On collecting the car, no mats were available due to them ordering the wrong ones and the car had just over a quarter of a tank of fuel. He apologised saying that the company policy wouldn’t allow him to add any more fuel but the mats would be ordered and sent out in a couple of days when they arrived. She has been chasing them everyday now for two weeks and still no mats have arrived, he is now ghosting her calls so she only gets to leave a message with reception. The garage is over an hour from our home so going there is a mission and at 18 years old she isn’t comfortable with the confrontation she expects to receive from them.
I had a great experience at Group 1 Volkswagen in Bolton. Steven Moss gave me great product information and secured me a fantastic deal on a brand new ID3 GTX Performance. Steven dealt with my wife and I in a very professional and caring manner. I left with a brand new electric car, a converted and very happy former petrol head! Thanks Steven, the car is amazing!
Very professional, attentive and friendly staff. Service and update completed in advised time frame. only downside is the long wait to get appointment. Had free car wash as well whcih was great.
Booked my car in for some work needed. Everything went well on the day. Used the self check in machine on site which was a little slow on this particular day and the little door on the machine didn’t open for me to drop the key off but the receptionist kindly sorted it all out for me. A message appeared on my dashboard which required attention driving into Audi Whetstone so I added this on the notes and the additional work was also carried out at the same time. I was kept informed of progress and the car was ready on time. All really good.
Super easy transaction from start to finish, The Salesman Rob was very professional, knew his stuff on cars and did not rush us either in the showroom or out on the test drive, it was a big purchase and he wanted to ensure we were completely happy. Even made a nice sign that said Izzy's new car for the handover.
Car was in for a recall booked an appointment - available promptly with alternatives as there was no loan car requirement Phoned in a day before to see if I could drop it off the prior evening - not problem with that and the work was completed by mid morning allowing pick up around lunch time
Gary Seed has been outstanding I came in after an issue with a car that wasn’t even from this dealership. I was so impressed with the service I decided to buy a car from Gary Great service and went the extra mile to look after me Well done
This was my first experience buying a Land Rover and Shaun at Norwich was professional and catered for all my needs, he is a credit to Group 1 can’t wait to buy my second in a few years time.
The service I got from the check in and the reception staff was fine, however from the health video I got, it looks like my CV joints need changing as it is leaking grease. I’ve been quoted £1.5k for either side for it to be fixed? How is this right?
Group 1 vw Peterborough Absolutely shocking experience — avoid this dealership at all costs. Bought a used car here over 6 months ago, and within a few weeks, I started having serious issues with the front assist system. It would randomly slam the brakes without warning, even when there were no obstacles around — extremely dangerous. I contacted the dealership immediately, expecting some level of concern or support. Instead, after finally getting someone to acknowledge the problem, they admitted the issue was known, then turned around and said it was my problem to deal with. No recall, no help, no courtesy. Mark Thomass, the sales manager, was especially rude. Dismissive, unhelpful, and clearly irritated that I dared to ask for the car to be rejected knowing full well theres no fix for the issue on a life-threatening fault in a car they sold me. He actually raised his voice and told me to “take it up with the manufacturer.” Unbelievable. Terrible customer service, no accountability, and a toxic attitude from management. Do yourself a favor — buy your car anywhere else.
Fantastic customer service received from start to finish. Kayleigh was extremely friendly and helpful. Very happy with my lovely new Yaris.
I had an agreed offer on an approved used car, in writing, to include certain bodywork preparation and replacement of all tyres prior to sale. I was pressured to complete the walk around form before arriving, however I declined due to the work that was needed on my prior viewing, I did however transfer the full fee for the car as I was told this was the only way to collect at the agreed time. I was assured all work has been done as agreed. On arrival the car had not been prepared, no tyres had been replaced, and one which I had been told 4 days earlier was unsafe to drive on had been glued back together. Due to the amount of issues I rejected the car, this was met with a change in attitude and general hostility, including Akash wheel spinning the car out of the dealership collection room, past us, and flooring the car up the road. Rick (manager) spoke to me the next day and seemed genuinely apologetic, but no serious offer was ever actually made to myself in writing. After my experience so far I was not happy to take any verbal offers. It took the dealership 5 days to refund the money, only done so after persistent calling and emailing (without any response) from myself to both the dealership and Group1. I have come out of this a few hundred out of pocket (insurance cancellations, time off work for car collection, financial fees whilst the dealership held >£20,000). Make sure any communication with this dealership is confirmed in writing, and do not send any money to them or sign any documents until you have seen the car in person and confirmed that it is in the agreed condition.
Terrible bad service they sold me faulty car when informed them they we can’t take car back and they waste my money and my time I’m disabled person they say we don’t care about
I collected my new AMG GT63s E Performance on 11th June 2025, the handover experience was first class. Ordering the car was, as always, a pleasure. Aaran Ford, our sales representative, was excellent. He kept me informed with regular order updates as this was a factory built order. I will always use Cheshire Oaks Mercedes Benz for future car orders and I cant thank Aaran Ford enough for the service has has given me. Sean Hughes also get a special mention for always being on hand to help with the order process and his commitment to customer service is second to none. Well done MB of Cheshire Oaks, you have surpassed the level of excellence by a large margin. Thank you.
Very unhappy with Kia Coulsdon. Husband test drove a second hand Stinger on 9th May and put down a £500 holding deposit. Once he'd realised tax and insurance costs he decided not to proceed and requested the deposit back the following day. nearly six weeks later and still waiting for the deposit back. Kia won't refund it to the credit card, will only pay it into a bank and four phone calls and another showroom visit later it's still not been refunded.
