Rania was a pleasure to work with, everything was so effortless.. amazing service.. so attentive and polite.
Great service, price and team. I'm very lucky to do business with Globe.
It takes very long to get out with the keys in the hand, there was a lot of unexpected charges etc.
Personne ne me rappellera.
J'y renviendrai certainement!
I recently booked a minivan from Enterprise, but they cancelled on me F! I had no choice but to try this Globe company. I've noticed that there are some negative reviews online from others who have had a bad experience with the same company, but since I was renting for 2 weeks I didn't want to get a bad deal - the savings was over $380! A big deal for me... When I picked up the car, I took pictures of all the panels to protect myself. Strange enough, they encouraged me to do that which gave me a sense of relief. I was given an upgrade to an 8 passenger minivan even though I booked a 7 passenger, it had low miles and smelled new and clean. Again, I did a thorough inspection before taking the car and made sure to document any pre-existing damage (photos!!). This ensured that there were no surprises when it came time to return the vehicle. I filled up with gas and returned... I took pictures again when I parked the car... nothing went wrong and frankly the French girl who served me was pleasant. This got me thinking, people writing reviews on here out of frustration for whatever which kind of explains the low rating. I saved lots $$$ and will check them out next time I need a car.
There is no accountability or customer service whatsoever. I do not recommend this company at all as they will be rude to you and completely abandon you if any issues arise, which seems very likely based on my experience and their other reviews.
The low star reviews are accurate! Despite the comments I took a chance to rent here. I rented online a 7-seater from the St-Constant location. Again, having read the poor reviews, I took the liberty to mention in my reservation to kindly ensure the vehicle was ready upon arrival as I was tight for time. The reservation passed and was approved To help chances further, I did the preregistration of my reservation in the morning. The reservation passed and was approved And then, just to be safe, I called the office 1 hour before pick up to see if it would be ready ..... only to be told that they do not have any vehicles of that size available!!!! 1 hour before my pick up and they NEVER even attempted to call me Horrible service and if I could give a negative star, I would!
I took a car from them a geep wrangler and the car was simple as “broken” a weird word for a rented car but unfortunately that was the situation never take from them a car even for free you’ll never know what’s coming up
1. Employees charge hidden fees. 2. Employees make extra charge by mistake (it is their intention Believe me) 3. Employees never wear facial masks. 4. Do not clean the car inside because they SAID too many reservations so no time to do. 5. Waiting time 1-2hours although you reserved online. 6. No car at the last moment, but not sorry to the customers Do not expect Ethic/responsibility/education from the employees
Once we got past the astoundingly bad customer service and hit the road, it was much better. Read on. I've rented from them before without a problem. The cars are totally fine, in my experience. The customer service isn't fine - read and see. I booked a car online for pickup at 7:00pm last Friday. This was to attend my late father's memorial service the following day, 450 km away. I arrived a bit late at 7:15, and the place was locked up and lights off. I took to my phone to discover that my next option would be 8am the next morning. Since "Plan A" didn't work out, then I turned to "Plan B": we'd be there at 8am sharp the next morning, and hit the road immediately. Arriving at Globe at 8:00am the next morning with kids and luggage in hand, there were two people ahead of us, and very soon came three people behind us. We all waited in the pouring rain and exchanged our misery at the situation, some saying this isn't the first time they've had a bad experience like this. We're all trying to keep ourselves and our luggage dry, without much success. At 8:20, a car pulls up and they scramble past us and open the place up, and start processing people. When I finally get out of the rain and to the counter at 8:45, I tell the staff member that I am annoyed that they're opening 20 minutes late. I am clearly frustrated but I am not yelling or anything. He bites back immediately: "do you want the car?!", and I say "yeah of course, but what's up with showing up 20 minutes late!?" He bites back again: "do you want the car?!". Basically, he's threatening me that he'll withhold the car from me because I am relatively calmly showing my frustration that he is 20 minutes late, while we've been waiting in the rain. And that's not even to mention not being able to get my car the night before. He explains that he wasn't even supposed to be there that day, and they were late because one of his colleagues was in an accident. Not sure if I believe him at all, and why are 4 staff showing up late all in one car at once, anyway? I finally get the car, plus a $20 'inconvenience discount' applied by the manager that overheard the transaction, and he specifically states that this is for the inconvenience relating to the 7:00pm closure the night before. Problem #2: he gives me the keys and sends me out to inspect the car on my own, as he moves on to the next customer. He explains to me that if I see any damage that isn't already on the visual damage report, I need to take a picture with my phone and immediately email it to the email address on the form. So the renter (me) can't just point the pre-existing damage out to the guy you've just been dealing with and have him add it to the damage report. Nope. Instead, you as the client need to take the time to email a photo of the pre-existing damage to an email address, before you leave the parking lot. If you don't do this, then when you return the car, the damage could later be attributed to you, since they otherwise had no record of it before. This is either the way Globe does it, or, the way they were doing it that morning because they were overwhelmed because they had (at that point) about 10 clients waiting outside in the rain. Finally, we hit the road at 9:10am, and I make it to my father's memorial service, pretty stressed out, and with minutes to spare. I went 120km/hr the whole way, because I had no choice. If I'd hit any kind of traffic at all on the 450km trip, I would have been late for the memorial service. Won't rent from them again. This place is run by a bunch of bro's in their 20's that clearly don't get it. Also- Globe - you can't offer a car pickup at 7:00pm on your online booking if the place will be closed shut 5 minutes later. Never again... Update: 10/22/21: Re: The company's response below. I agree it's not cool for me to mention "bro's in their 20's" but I was really annoyed by the service, and I apologize if I seemed ageist. I am sure there are many times when your guys work hard. However, I stand behind everything else. You think it's "overdramatic" to be annoyed because I had to stand in the rain with many other people while they were 20 minutes late opening, and I didn't get served until another 25 mintues later? There was plenty of staff, once they arrived and started processing the backlog. As for taking pics of damage and emailing them - in my experience with other places, you have an opportunity to walk around the car with someone and annotate it on a piece of paper. I was instead told that if I see any damage I have to email photos to an email address. There's a difference. You are downloading the reponsibility onto the client and making them do the work. It delayed my already super late departure by another 10 minutes. I am not the only client that was annoyed that morning, beleive me.
The worst customer service! Rented a car online with confirmation. The next day, got a call at 8am from an agent saying that the car will only be available not at the reserved hour but later on. Cancelled my appointment and on my way to pick up the car, called in and was told by a rude customer service person that in fact, the car was not available and they had no clue when it will be there then he hang up on me. Called back and fell on manager and was told that there no car and to go back home. Spent thousands of dollars last year on rental at this place. Never again! They are the rudest most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. Shameful! Avoid at all cost.
Globe car rental, a very bad, unpleasant and unreliable service, the cars are always misinspected they hand it to you with a sloppy wash half dirty but claims to be sanitized, they will exploit your credit card and your money and if you lump a tire of 60$ or even if you didn’t they make u pay 350$ for it after blocking a 1000$ on your card for 20 days and had already collected insurance fees on top of it. and sometimes they like to forget closing your contract then after 4 days they will freely deduct the amount from your credit card and when u call they tell you that you still have the car and they don’t know where it is!!!!! Whilst you had given it back, and you start asking yourself what’s next you’re gonna say I stole the car!!! and then it takes a week to reimburse the 300$ definitely a fishy and crooked business not to mention bad policies and bad management for 20 years and more and customers fall victims #cars #automotive #locationautoglobe #sales #customerserviceproblems #montreal #crookedcompanies #insurance
-I am appalled by my experience at the Villeray-Little Italy branch while trying to pick up my car in the morning. This was undeniably the worst customer service I have ever come across: -While our reservation was originally set for 9 am, I received a call informing me to come through at 10, because the car hadn't arrived at the branch yet (and washed). -After arriving at 10, the sales rep, Amir, "guaranteed" us that the car would arrive at 10:30 at the very latest. -This proved to be absolute nonsense, since at 11:30, nothing had changed. -I then justifiably suggested that we receive any sort of discount, which he counter-offered by compassionately paying us a cup of coffee at the McDonald's next door (I can't make this up). -At 11:45, the car that I had reserved never came, and the sales reps assigned us to another car that was parked in the lot. -I decided to go along with the transaction, but was unaware that a Visa credit was necessary to pay, thus we couldn't go through with the rental. -However, my Visa debit that wasn't supposed to work was still charged $300 dollars. -Amir assisted insisted that we come back with a valid credit card in the next 30 minutes, otherwise he would give the car to another customer, which is an astonishing demand because I had waited for over 2 hours in person for the car to arrive. -Even though I didn't get the car, since I didn't pay for the car rental, Amir didn't give me any guarantee that I would be able to see my deposit back on my account. -At least 6 clients were in similar situations as we were, also dealing with very delayed reservations. -All the while, Amir was very inconsiderate and disparaging with them as well, taking personal calls and belittling the fact that people had made plans, even yelling at a customer who mocked his proposal to cover a coffee expense as some sort of compromise. -I advise potential customers to avoid this branch at all costs... absolutely laughable
Bad experience not unlike others. Had rented the car for a week's drive out from Toronto to Ottawa 1. Informed on the morning of the day of the pick up that no car was available because the person before me didn't return the car. 2. They scrambled to find me a vehicle that had the ENGINE ERROR LIGHT persistently on. And told us it was perfectly safe to drive it 5 hours on the highway. And that if anything happened, there was complimentary highway assistance. Gee thanks for the free tow truck in the middle of nowhere! Would I take that chance, no way. Pros: Cheap, agents that do try hard Cons: Unreliable availability with last minute cancellations, cars with problems?
