From far THE worse customer service ever @ Porter Fredericton.

From far worse customer service ever! The girl at the front desk has no professionalism. She left the front desk 50 mins before the flight departure and refused to come back to print a boarding pass. we asked the security person to let her know that there was 6 ppl at the desk and she refused to come print it . We had to wait 40 mins there to get tell that we missed our flight when she was told 30 mins ago by the security person that we were there and that she was calling our names but we could not pass security because of it. We could literally see her on the other side of the window. Never again! She told us that if she would rebook us she would loose her job and lost it telling us that she hated that job and would quite.... Wow no words to explain this. Customer svc zero nada , she handed us a card smilling and said please call and complaint so we did. Here it is.

Do not use this company zero stars

Do not use this company zero stars. If anything goes wrong flight delayed or cancelled you will get no help from Porter. The staff say you were a no show when that was absolutely not true told you are not flying anywhere today come back tomorrow 3 days running then told 48 hours have passed we don't have to help you now. Dreadful way to treat customers

Porter Airlines is by far the worst…

Porter Airlines is by far the worst airline I have ever flown with. Everything about them is terrible, from their customer service to the employees who work for this garbage airline. I was supposed to fly from Las Vegas to Toronto with a one-hour layover in Ottawa. At midnight, eight hours before my flight while I was still in Vegas, I received an email informing me that my flight home to Toronto had been canceled. Instead of rebooking me on another airline for the date I needed, they rescheduled me for a flight a full day later with a three-hour layover in Montreal—simply because it was cheaper for them. This meant I had to pay for my own accommodation and food, all because Porter found it more cost-effective to leave me stranded. Calling them was a complete waste of time—the wait times were sometimes as long as five hours. Later, I found information on their website stating that I would not receive any compensation for hotel or food expenses. When I finally arrived in Montreal, my flight to Toronto was canceled yet again because the pilot had fallen ill. Instead of rebooking me properly, they issued me a standby boarding pass for an earlier flight, meaning I could only board if someone else didn’t show up. Worse yet, I wasn't even first in line—there were seven other passengers ahead of me in the same situation. I approached a Porter employee, explaining that I was exhausted from all the cancellations and that I at least wanted to be first on the standby list. She refused to listen, was extremely rude, and even threatened to call security if I continued to complain. Then she simply walked away and ignored me. Other Porter employees I asked for help only responded with "I do not know" or "Call Porter." When I requested to speak with a manager, they told me I had to leave the boarding area entirely and go to a Porter desk located near the airport entrance—meaning I would have had to exit security completely. Luckily, three people did not show up for their flight, so I was finally able to board and return home. But had they all arrived, I would have been stuck overnight again at my own expense. Porter Airlines is anything but professional. Their staff is completely incompetent and seems to know nothing beyond the phrase "Call Porter." They do not care about their passengers, they will never refund you for anything, and good luck trying to reach them by phone. If you actually want to get where you're going on time, never book with this 0-star airline.

flight canceled for ?

The flight was canceled, and we did not receive any notification, either by phone or email. On top of that, we attempted to contact customer service for eight hours, but received no response— not even regarding a refund as per their policies. This is completely unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company. It has been a truly terrible experience. It will be the first and last time with them.

Flight was cancelled for Sunday and an email was sent saying it was rebooked for the following Thursday. I guess my employer won't mind me being off for an extra 4 days and my bank balance won't mind the hotel and food bill. There was also literally no way to speak with anyone in customer service. I will never fly on Porter and will tell everyone I know what happened.

They cancelled our flight and rebooked…

They cancelled our flight and rebooked us 4 days later. They do not care about customers, they only care about money. Avoid at all costs. Use an EU airline or just use the train if you’re traveling within Canada. It would probably be faster anyways because Porter doesn’t plan at all for anything going wrong and will just let you get screwed over and offer nothing in return as long as they save 50 cents. This has happened multiple times in a row now and I can’t stay quiet anymore. Anyone who works for Porter should be ashamed to work for such an immoral and greedy company. You greedy immoral bastards.

All 4 flights in my itinerary left late…

All 4 flights in my itinerary left late and I missed one connection which meant I had to stay overnight in Toronto and get less than 4 hours of sleep. Then the flight to Montreal also left later than planned, and we had to board outside, in the snow, and then we sat for like 20 minutes in a cold plane with open doors while the crew loaded stuff into the back of the plane, in the middle of winter. Had I known that so much of my time would be wasted and I would be so uncomfortable, I would have paid the extra couple hundred buck and flown with Air Canada. Never again...

Good cheap option

Pretty cheap and good option if you're flying to canada, they dont really have any screens or anything but the unlimited free wifi makes up for it. they give snacks and drinks 2 times on 5-6 hour long flights. Overall service was pretty good.

NEVER Flying Porter again!

late departure, no grounds crew at connecting city, missed connection. No communication at airport, shuffled everyone back through customs before we had a chance to look at other airline options to keep on track for timeline. Had to battle to get them to admit the issue was their fault. They finally provided hotel and meal voucher but said I had to pay for transportation and submit online to get paid back. Its a struggle to get reimbursed for expenses after they tell you to submit. Their website runs you in circles, their live agent chat was useless. Wish I had seen this review site before booking, now not surprised they have 75% one star. Spend the extra on another airline, these guys aren't worth your aggravation!

Stay away

I booked my first vacation with me children to Newark to see the family and friends and spend the holidays, all of this never happened because of Porter, they cancelled my flight after everyone had already boarded and their excuse was " We exceeded Duty" when they should've know and never had that flight as a possibility. I lost all my Airbnb money, reservations, and bookings that were planned for the best Christmas/New years vacation, and the refund process is a joke, they have you calling everyone but will not help you get your money back. Stay far away from them if you want a good vacation.

Catherine and the Porter staff were great…

My Air Canada Flight around December 11 from Ottawa to Halifax was delayed, so I ended up on a Porter flight. I was very impressed with the service. Catherine (forgive me if the spelling is wrong) was an amazing flight attendant and did a great job keeping a drunk couple under control. I would choose Porter again, for sure.

Porter stranded us in Toronto!

This is the worst airline experience that I've ever had. Horrible company! Their connecting flight was late, forcing us to miss our next flight. Their customer service were rude and offered no solutions. I presented proof, screen grabs of their late flight, and then they stopped responding to my claim request. My wife and I had to spend a lot of money we didn't have buying new tickets on another airline to not be left stranded in Toronto in the middle of winter.

Another promising air company turning into scam show

Another promising air company turning into a scam show... :( Booked normal ECONOMY flight from SFA to Toronto around Christmas time. Not cheap as you may imagine. Upon booking was surprised to find that NO laggage whatsoever was included, had to pay additional 60CAD for check-in I didnt even need. Further - more. No mobile boarding pass issued... Called support and to more surprise discovered that my booking is "basic", which means both no laggage and NO guaranteed sit. And of course - ALL their flights around holiday time are overbooked. Now the best part - although being very sorry for inconvenience them overbooking they readily offered me to, naturally as a one-time special offer, to promote my booking to *economy* class, which would guarantee boarding, for just extra 500 CAD on top of already paid price... Classic scam schema at work! Experience summary: 1. They deliberately overbook (and try to convince that's a normal every day practice now) and openly say that "chances to board for you are VERY low") 2. Immediately offer to pay a good chunk extra to upgrade to what you in fact *already paid* for 3. No cancel option - can't be seated on your flight, but can't cancel either (they want your money regardless whether you actually fly or not) 4. Never mention own compensation policy for overbooked flights (they must compensate up to 400% based on own rules published online). Moreover - manager tried to play it "you misunderstand the policy, it doesn't apply" way. 5. Conversation with customer service, regardless of evidence of booking or reasoning provided, stumble at "you have 2 options - pay extra to upgrade to get on the *same* flight or move to another flight (multiple stops, next 2 days etc ). DESPITE seats factually available on the same flight. They keep pressing with "trust us - it's the best deal you can have! it will cost more of you shop elsewhere". They know they got you hooked! 6. Finally - customer service: both support operator and later her manager, after unsuccessfully trying to sell same upgrade bullshit, simply hung off. Is outrageous such scam tactics are officially a standard business among air companies now. They simply exploit most sensitive time for travel, I did get seated immediately after arriving to airport (100% sure is result of fighting back with support), but can only imagine how many people gave up and "upgraded" to make sure they board.

How good it is

So my family took me on a vacation to florida and i was expecting like: are the staff members nice? good food? free wifi? it was my first time on an airplane so yeah, the staff was really nice, the cloud view was nice, pretty much everything was nice about it, thank your porter, you have served good. I wonder why there is so many one star reviews.

Not the usual budget airline experience

It’s really weird to leave a good review to a budget airline, but today I really have to. Today, I MADE a mistake, and when I called the customer service, Tom answered the phone and went the extra mile, literally above and beyond what I expected. This really made my day and it was the best surprise ever. Thank you thank you so much. I wish there were more people like this at the customer services.

Terrible communication and experience

Terrible communication. Plane diverted. Plane lands in another airport. Plane has technical issues. Told to wait 1 hour. Told to wait 2 hours. Told to wait for another hour and another air craft coming from Toronto. One thing after another. Would never ever ever fly or recommend.

More delay than flight duration.

Waited 45 minutes to debark in Halifax and were 2 hours late on way back to Montreal (1.5 hour flight) and another hour for our luggage to come out. Just a confirmation of many a frustrated experiences.

DON'T FLY WITH THEM

1st: Online check-in requires you to still get a ticket at the airport. Ridiculous. 2nd: They said on their website there would be a full refund to the original payment method if requested within 24 hours of purchasing a ticket, however, when I requested it, they gave me a voucher instead. When I sent them an email about it, I hadn't heard back from them even after 4 months. This forced me to purchase an overpriced ticket with them so I could use the credits(they expire in 1 year). They are the worst airline in Canada, and I would NEVER fly with them again.
