Used Enact to remortgage. Pretty smooth process, kept informed throughout. Got a response via the messaging option when needed and got through on the phone every time I called. Would use Enact again.
Enact assisted in making my re-mortgage an efficient and stress-free process.
Key plus points:
Slick on-line process
Continual progress updates
Named Case handler
Prompt responses to on-line queries posted
Great conveyancing experience overall. The only point of feedback I'd have is that all tasks for the client should appear on the tasks section of the online client portal. I needed to make a payment and this was only conveyed in the "messages" section of the online portal which I didn't look at until the deadline was almost up. Had I missed this deadline my whole remortgage would have needed to be rescheduled.
If I could have given 0 stars I would have. Transfer of equity process started in November 24 has taken until the middle of March 25 to complete. Should have taken 6-8 weeks, it took 19 weeks.
When you call (one good thing is they answer the phones immediately) you speak to someone who puts notes on your file which the solicitor team just ignore. 9 times out of 10, when they try and put you through to someone they aren't available. On breaks or away from their desk. I honestly think over the last 2 months they were just avoiding speaking to me (I have been perfectly polite and civil up until this week). Blamed every one else for the delays rather than just admitting their faults. I am fairly sure they were lying about some of the things they said they had done because as soon as I did it for them, we got results.
Communication was abysmal. If I wasn't calling them every single day, I would have had no communication from them whatsoever from January to March. Before that I think I only had one call and one email that was useless. Every time someone said they would get the team to update me by email or phone, nothing was ever received. They hid behind rubbish policies like not being able to copy me into any emails they send to the bank?? What kind of policy is that?! Its my information!
Be aware that they have a 4 day turnaround for EVERYTHING so if you don't get information to them on a Monday, you wont hear anything until the following week. They seem to think 4 day turnaround means they've got 4 days until they need to do anything.
The only positive thing to say is the people who answer the phones are very nice and as I said, they answer very quickly. However they obviously have no power at all to get anything done and their efforts to help go to waste most of the time. The transfer team were quite ready to throw them under the bus as soon as something went wrong.
It was just like no one seemed to care how long it had taken and were quite happy to just sit on my case and let it run on and on and on...
The whole process has caused me extreme stress and financial hardship. I will NEVER use them again.
My experience with enact conveyancing was 1st class ‘
Helpful , clear & concise throat the whole process , especially impressed how they always promptly returned my phone calls ~ Well oiled machine . . .
Possibly the most appalling and inept service I’ve ever received!
I was lead to believe that taking out a small mortgage on a property that I already own outright would be a very straightforward and swift process.
Alas Enact’s case handling has come to a grinding halt due to the total ineptitude of Callum my case owner.
I have supplied all documents as required by recorded delivery and the portal. Despite various phone calls direct to the team who can all confirm everything has been recieved Callum persists to claim otherwise. He takes days to respond and in fact has only graced me with two responses both at 1800hrs on a Saturday which seems very unusual indeed. His last correspondence was please type “Stop My ReMortgage” to close my application. The whole situation is entirely baffling as you’d think they’d want the business. I’m incredibly frustrated as I absolutely do want to remortgage my home but I do wonder at this rate if it will ever happen….
Brilliant service. Very quick response to all of our queries by well-informed, knowledgable and courteous staff.
The app was useful although the ‘progress wheel’ was slow to show movement until completion day.
