Dell Replaces With REFURBISHED Parts Which Have a Reduced Warranty (And Won't Tell You)

Please note that if your Dell computer runs into technical difficulties such that it needs to be sent to the Dell Repair Depot, they will fix it with REFURBISHED parts, not advertising they are doing so and this will significantly reduce the warranty to 90 days.  My computer was recently overheating, crashing, and the battery was not lasting long. I sent the computer to be fixed and paid for what I thought was a new battery. It cost the same amount as their advertised new batteries, the information that I consented to for the replacement had no indication that it was refurbished, and I thought all is well. NOPE! 100 days later, my computer is experiencing the same issues and to my absolute surprise was informed I need a new battery. "How? I just replaced it..." I thought. I then looked online and said, "Okay, your batteries are advertising a 1-year warranty, so you will fix this free of charge". NOPE! Because they (unknowingly to me) replaced it with a REFURBISHED battery it is thus only covered for 90 days and I will have to pay again out of pocket.  After going back and fourth over several days spending hours running the same diagnostics and speaking to all levels of Dell support workers and management in what I can only describe as a "milk run/ string along" situation, no one has been able to justify to me why my battery was replaced with a refurbished part instead of a new one which I thought I was paying for. No one will replace the battery free of cost or reimburse me for the misinformation either.  I also feel I should mention that after sending my computer in for repairs, it came back worse than before (the trackpad was not working), so I had already had to send it in once before. The scrolling is still not 100%.  Not happy with their system. Feel completely manipulated and want to ensure people are made aware and don't spend their hard earned money on this slimy trap.  Thanks for reading.

Wrost technical support that I have ever seen.

Worst Tech Support Experience Ever, Dell Should Be Ashamed If I could give zero stars, I would. I've had nothing but a nightmare dealing with Dell’s technical and customer support. After one remote session and TWO mail-in repairs, my laptop STILL runs like it's stuck in 2005, slow, unresponsive, and nowhere near the performance I paid for. What’s even more maddening? Every time I contact support, they just have me repeat the same useless tests over and over. It's like talking to a brick wall. They clearly don’t read the case history or care about resolving the issue. It's a never-ending loop of “try this diagnostic tool” or “reinstall drivers”, things I've done a dozen times already. Dell, your support system is broken, and your customer care is nonexistent. I’ve wasted weeks of my time and still don’t have a working machine. Never buying Dell again.

HORRIFIC!!!!!!

HORRIFIC!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY A DELL COMPUTER!!!!!!! I purchased a Dell computer 3 months ago for $1,300. Nothing but issues with it and Dell tech support is as useless as their customer service. They have sent their satellite repair company to my business several times, I have spent numerous hours on a screenshare with Dell tech service doing the same exact diagnostic sequences each time, total of 12 times. 2 weeks ago they sent me a shipping label and box to send the computer back to them so they could repair it at their corporate location. Just got it back and it still continues to have the same utterly slow issues.......... Xfinity and our IT company have both stated the issue is with this computer as well as we have 12 other computers in this office, all on an ethernet connection, yet no one else has these issues. They can’t fix the issue but won’t replace the unit either.... The amount of time I have lost due to this is ridiculous and Dell simply does not care. I have also emailed their corporate office with not 1 response back from them.... Dont walk away from a Dell product, RUN!!!

Cancelled Order and no refund yet

Cancelled Order and no refund yet They cancelled my laptop order and its going to be almost a month since I initiated the service request for my refund and I am yet to get my money back. Cannot call the dutch customer service line for some reason and the email support has left for much to be desired with their standard we will look into this and get back to you. and after that all they do is close the case hoping you forget that you ever paid them. Distressing and frustrated with my experience with Dell.

Ridiculous delivery

Ridiculous delivery. Ordered a £700 laptop, which they wouldn’t deliver. My mum is disabled and unable to get to the door and I am often out. You don’t get a delivery time at all. They just show up and hope you’re in. If you’re not they just leave. No slip or anything to say they’ve been. No way to contact any one. Really really annoyed. Nipped out to walk the dog and missed the delivery guy on the second attempt by literal seconds. Had they sent updates to give a timeslot I could have made sure to be in. I could have waited. But I waited all morning and the ten minutes I was out the house he turned up. I am left disappointed for yet another day and god knows how long till they attempt again. Do they just expect you to not leave the house from point of ordering till they eventually deliver?? Pathetic. People need to work. Simply not good enough. Infuriating. Will NEVER order again simply due to the pathetic delivery service.

Βought a Dell Latitude 9Dell: Ridiculous Quality-Awful Customer Service430 end 2023…

Βought a Dell Latitude 9430 end 2023 about 2,500 euros, with 3 year NBD service. From day one the laptop showed malfunctions (blue screens, losing bluetooth, audio and microphone issues). Dell insisted on formatting the system, which I did (to my own expense and burden). However, problems remained. Within 18 months I had to: -replace the motherboard -replace the keyboard which started to peel of (like it is some sort of water painting) -replace the screen when the camera didn’t work -replace the screen 3 more times within 30 days, as all of them failed after first screen replacement. Dell’s customer service was just awful, as they: -refused to replace the laptop after all these issues and 4 screen replacements -refused to provide me temporarily with an external monitor until they fix the laptop (had to buy it on my own) -delayed the replacement of the 4th screen for 12 days (I use the laptop for work purposes and I had to carry both laptop and external monitor all these days) -admitted that they use refurbished items not only new ones (but when I asked, they stated they did not know if parts used for me were refurbished or new…) -didn’t give an explanation why 4 screens failed (even though they as stated ‘do all thorough checks’) in 40 days. Bottom line: Dell used to be state-of-the-art service and quality, now their product quality is ridiculous and their customer service is awful.

Dell computers is a complete scam

Dell computers is a complete scam. Dell charges for tech support after one year and you'll have to buy it because they have made their laptops to have problems. I bought an expensive Dell laptop and now just to access my gmail account I need tech support because Dell and co conspirator Google have built in username and password problems. I am never buying a Dell product again because of this. Microsoft is also on the pos Dell laptop and has their own scam where they automatically charge you for subscriptions you never authorize. And because they illegally use debit and credit card information in the laptop after illegally searching the device banks can not contest the charge. And because the US Department of Justice has been bribed to not prosecute them for anti trust and monopoly power and racketeering all the consumer can do is boycott Dell and Microsoft. America is so corrupt now it is sad.

Story goes on (I thin this is not my first review for the same laptop). After crappy battery dying basically in a couple of months, broken touchpad, 3 replacements of charger, display broke and now (parts of display are getting darker) the laptop finally started to chirp. I had different laptops - HP, Lenovo, Apple, but by far this was the worst one (Dell wasn't my choice).

Zero customer service, worse sales team

Zero customer service, worse sales team Approached Dell sales team for advice on purchasing an identical computer one bought the year before. Informed this one was no longer available (although it later turned out it was) Was then sent a link to a computer to purchase which was identified as the same performance as the previous one. I was not advised of any changes which should be considered, but was told I could if I wanted to. I took the link at face value, as it could be personalised and assumed it would be as they profess to be "Excellent" and I'd provided such specific requirements. The computers were nothing like the one previously purchased, totally underpowered. When I approached the sales team and customer service, was told it was my problem and tough, despite offering to pay for any upgrade or changes to be made to the machine to make it perform as required. A different sales team then had the audacity to call me to sell me more computers. I will never purchase from Dell again.

"Servicio de atención al cliente nulo"

En mayo de 2024 compré un teclado y ya presenta problemas con la iluminación, además de esto he intentado 1000 veces actualizar la aplicación que gestiona dicho teclado y es totalmente imposible. Resumiendo, te venden el producto y si te he visto no me acuerdo. Confiaba en DELL, pero no dejan de ser otra empresa del montón.

DO NOT buy software subscriptions through Dell

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT buy software subscriptions through Dell when you purchase your laptop. I purchased 3 (McAfee, Adobe Pro 2024 and Office 365.) The McAfee and Adobe subscriptions I was unable to access after tech support did a remote assist session for 3+ hours, and I finally just had to ask for a refund so I could purchase it myself. The Office 365 required technical support to get it installed. As of right now, I'm awaiting a response on the refund request and the remote assist is still trying to get Office 365 to load. This is all after I spent an entire day trying to figure these subscriptions out myself, unsuccessfully.
