KIA has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
Kia Bolton absolute rubbish. Went in in March 2024 to buy a car but the system was down so promised a call back, and 16 months later it still never happened so I bought it somewhere else, now trying to BUY a service plan and promised a call from the service team, 7 days later still no call. Speak to Kia customer service and they send you to the dealer who never call back. If this is the service they offer when I am trying to buy something imagine how bad it would be if I had an issue. I have had 4 Kia's now and this will be my last one
DM Kieth Kia Leeds.
Absolute pleasure from ordering to picking up my new car.
Tony was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and explained fully how the Motability Scheme works and how it would help me to purchase my new car.
He was instrumental in me choosing this route , as it had always worried me in the past.
Tony kept me informed regularly regarding when the car would arrive and when the adaptation work would be carried out.
The whole experience has been stress free and very straightforward .
I love the new Kia Sportage and would highly recommend the Leeds Kia dealership to anyone who wants an excellent buying experience.
I would have given them a 5 star review except for the fact that one person at the desk let them down .
I had a front camera replaced and when the work was don , the bumper was not put on straight . Had words with a certain individual that worked on the desk .
After trying to sort out the mess , I finally had a call from the service manager Bobbie !
He sorted it out with flying colours, excellent service ,polite to the point and extremely professional.
Hopefully the of his staff will take note of how it should be done .
Well done Bobbie. And thank you !
Today Monday 7th I walked into kia bristol to look at the price of a brand new picanto .I wandered around the showroom giving the salesmen plenty of time to acknowledge me AND NOTHING. I WONT BE BUYING A NEW CAR AT THIS DEALER.( shocking service) GO ELSEWHERE.
Bought a new Kia Soul EV in the summer. Fantastic car! Unfortunately a horse scratched the side and it had to go in for a 3 day repair. That was three weeks ago. It needs a part which is on 'back order'. The dealer can't tell me when it will arrive nor can Kia, who tell me they can't talk to their spares department. Great car it might be but not much point if you can't use it.
The Kia 'Care' team are the most uncaring people on earth.
I was on holiday in Cornwall when I had total engine failure on my 8m old Kia Sportage. I have just had the car returned to me after 5/6 weeks with a new engine having been repaired by Hawkins at St Stephen, Cornwall. Vanessa at Hawkins was pleasant and helpful but seemed long-suffering of Kia HQ. Kia UK customer 'care' should be renamed Kia 'don't care' they have treated me with disdain and contempt throughout this whole saga instead of offering empathy and support to a customer who has experienced a traumatic event and had to leave his car in Cornwall to have a new engine. They expected me to collect the car and I said I could not due to Govt.lockdown guidelines, banning all but essential journeys, and also all B&Bs ,hotels, restaurants were shut so I could not make a long weekend of it and I was not prepared to drive a 10 hour round trip in a day. As I refused to collect the car immediately, Someone at Kia then decided to off-hire my rental car so a driver arrived on my doorstep to collect the rental car. When I refused to hand over the keys as my Kia had not been returned, they said they would start charging me a daily rate and that the insurance would no longer be valid. After writing to Paul Philpott the MD of Kia UK and emailing an official complaint, Kia agreed to deliver my car back to me. The next day someone at Kia decided to off-hire my rental car again so someone arrived at my house to collect the car. Again I refused to hand the keys over until my Kia had been returned- this time I was informed they would report the car stolen and that I would be stopped by the Police if I attempted to drive the car. The day after this, my Kia was delivered back to me. Having emailed again complaining about the way I had been treated , Victoria Watson, a senior Kia'care' person fobbed me off completely, was completely in denial and tried to claim they had treated me well and had done several things as' gestures of goodwill'. This is the most appalling way I have ever been dealt with by a company- also why did the engine fail on an 8m old car? I will never buy a Kia ever again and would not recommend their 'care' team to my worst enemy.
Kia Stourbridge, too much has happened to put it all here. But in a nut shell I've forked out nearly 300 pounds for a service that l believe hasn't been done. Air filter filthy, oil black, antifreeze low etc etc, my neighbour a retired mechanic having looked around the vehicle also believes it hasn't been serviced. I'm contacting trading standards, an independent garage and the motor ombudsmen tomorrow . They shouldnt be allowed to get away with ripping people off
Contacted kia parks to ask for pricing on replacing my gear knob on my recently purchased kia sportage..before purchasing I had noticed the gear knob head had perished and the leather had been picked leaving it an eyesore..I contacted parks kia east kilbride who priced me £52..for the knob alone without fitting..ordered and went to collect..they ordered wrong part..so said would order again for me..I was contacted today and told price difference is over £100!!..£108.00 for the knob alone!!!!..£180 to fit it!!!!..contacted kia direct and asked to confirm part price!!!are kia having a laugh on the customer!!!..that is a ludicrous price for a small part of a car!!!..I wound expect such mad pricing from bmw or audi or merc but from kia!!!!????..I obviously refused and said forget it!!..daylight robbery from kia after I have just purchased for the first time, one of there cars!!!..and last one! after such disgusting pricing!!!..hate to think if I have a repair bill for a broken part in the time I own the vehicle what the pricing will be!!!!..not impressed at all kia!!!..very disappointed first time customer!!..and last!
Update!!..no reply at all from kia..says it all!!
KIA Acorn Motors Burntwood
The sales man who sold us the car was Greg Chance, professional and approachable
He worked hard to get us the best deal and his communication was good prior to buying the car
We travelled 120 miles and he made us a drink and had the car just outside so we could sit and see it while we did the paperwork
He even told us where we could get a cooked breakfast!
The overall experience was positive and I would have no hesitation in recommending Greg and Acorn Motors; Many Thanks!
It is a bit unusual buying a high end BMW from a Kia dealer but believe me the experience was worth it. I traded an XJL for a BMW 7LD supercharged. Yes, the company sells new and used KIAs however they have an excellent selection of other makes, from Rolls Royce to BMWs. I dealt with Alex who was very professional, amiable and had an excellent knowledge of cars. The showroom was spotless and the effort the company put in to maintain a COVID free zone was much appreciated. Overall the experience left me feeling pampered and at a reasonable cost. Certainly worth a visit!
Oh it's my fault! - Alloy Corrosion Beware/Dodgy Battery!
2year old Kia Soul (8K miles only).
At the 2 year service we noticed the alloy wheels were starting to bubble and corrode. Apparently if you drive your car on the road it will get stone chips which allow condensation under the protective layer which causes the corrosion to happen. This is not covered by warranty so those nice looking expensive wheels start looking shabby. There are no visible perforations on the wheel but apparently even the smallest microscopic or invisible pinprick can start the chain of events, therefore the warranty is effectively invalid before you drive the car!
I also own a Saab 95 Aero which I bough new 18 years ago, 140K harsh European weather miles at high speed on Germany Autobahns, yes scratched and very stone-chipped but still no sign of corrosion on any of the alloy wheels. Clearly Kia Diamond Cut Alloys are not fit for any purpose, ranking alongside the chocolate teapot- other than they look nice, if you're stupid enough to drive your Kia on a road (who would do such a stupid thing)! the warranty if worthless.
In fairness, the problem seems to be with the Diamond Cut process as other brands also suffer the same problem, but other brands have acknowledged the problem and acted in good faith.
Like the Niro 2.2 owner below, we also had a battery issue within the first few months. RAC diagnosed a faulty battery, but again Kia insisted it was my fault for leaving the interior light switch on (it auto switches off after 30 seconds). Apparently its not for lighting up the interior of the car so you can see to get in when its dark, its so you can see after you've fallen in and sat on your muffin! Oh, my fault again!
Fortunately it failed again within days and when the RAC diagnosed it was a faulty battery they were not happy as it should have been replaced first time around.
They're cheap for a reason but just as expensive in the long run. The bells and whistles are nice until they break, then you have to live with the fact it will be your fault for some inexplicable reason like the wind changed direction! Lost all my future business, I was looking at a Stinger to replace my tired Saab, but think I will keep it another 10 years or spend a little more to get an honest warranty where I won't be blamed for driving normally. Better than spending my time and money repairing, replacing and being fobbed off with loophole excuses and feeling the need to write extensive reviews because Kia can't honour their promise.
kia approved cars .liars
kia sold us a approved car and it was a disaster front end damage drove like crap and was unsafe on roads all over the place , demanded my money back but in the end cost me money and time never buy kia again .
Kia Niro 2 2 weeks old flat battery and other glitches.
Hello,
My Kia Niro 2 is just gone 2 weeks old from collection, I have the battery going flat, no central locking. Lane assist taking me off the motorway.
In a reply from Kia, they told me have you tried pressing your stop start button. I do not have a stop start button.
Below is what I told them, and now a few days ;ater still no reply=
Hello Ronnie,
Thanks for the reply, my wife has watched me drive the car up the street on setting 2 out of 3 regeneration.
When I am off the throttle completely, there were no brake lights turned on automatically.
We have now had 2 near misses on the motorway as wagons pull in front close, the car then brakes severely to keep the distance. The cars behind have flashed their lights and horns at us. Also going down the A1m Motorway 5am, wife the lane assist and cruise on.
The car turned off the Motorway and started going up the slip road. So I had to commit to this, then rejoin.
As you mentioned, I do not have a start stop button in the car. reg nu70fyn.
We had just done the evening before, a motorway journey to Newcastle, 30 miles or so. Mainly Motorway and back again.
Next morning, the key fob did not work, so I had to use the key. Then the reset Battery button. Which has wiped my setting on the car.
The car has only done 500 miles and 2 weeks from collection. Is this going to keep happening during my ownership.
Hope you can clarify my issues, as do not really want to contact the dealer, as not very helpful.
Giving me the car with number plates not on DVLA system yet, telling me not to worry. thank you.
They only told me on collection that I have to set the regen every journey and press the lane assist off before setting off etc. Very bad, this car has glitches, buy other make. No help from Kia.
Regards
