I think this company is a SCAM! I am currently looking for a place for my parents who are Senior citizens. I found a property that interest us and under this company. I reviewed the criteria which states: must make 3x's the rent, credit check, etc. Well first off- We put in an application which was $55/adult so we pd over $150 in app fees. They declined the application the next day! I asked why- they tell me do to my parents credit score! My parents don't use their credit because they really have not needed to! They are great tenants- pay their rent early every month, no evictions, never had a bankruptcy, any thing like that. They havent had to apply for a rental place in over 10 years. I asked 'Why wouldn't you all consider these factors?' Or at least give them the option to pay a higher deposit? Only then, they start throwing out credit score numbers! This is what they said 'My parents didn't meet the Resident score-the Standard Score should be 630 and for the score to be considered with additional deposit, it must be 610. Now, why wouldn't this be displayed in their criteria so people wouldn't be out of application fees! My parents don't have bad credit, they have thin credit. I feel like these companies collect application fees on these properties for an X-amount of time before they approve someone. Straight RIP-OFF!
I called Darwin Homes looking for a home and had one of the best Customer Service experiences I have ever had. I spoke with a wonderful rep named Sam. Now I can say that Sam was good. Or that he was helpful..... But Nope... He was Absolutely amazing!!!!! I call in a panic asking a million question non stop in one breath. And just as Calm and Professional as he can be he answered EVERY single question above and beyond. I have been searching for a home for my children for a while now and i think I have found my home. Thank you for the knowledge, understanding and patience Sam when I rushed with all the questions rolling around in my head about the BEAUTIFUL home you answered and helped me so much. I appreciate the wonderful customer service.

The process was very quick and efficient. There was a little technicality with gaining access to view the home at first, but that was quickly handled. The application was clear and concise, and the response was fast! Finding a home during this time is extremely difficult, but Darwin made it easier for me.. Thank you!

From the begining we did not speak to some or meet someone in person. After identifying issues, it took days for communication between us. Understandable you are moving to leverage technology, which I applaud, you miss the personal touch and things get missed. I am not sure I would ever go through Darwin homes again, but I am stuck in a contract I cannot get out of. I will see what happens over the next couple of days. Ramon Herrera, Jr. 860+853-0007
I was initially denied on a rental application due to “my income not meeting standards”, though that’s not the case as I make well above the 3x standard, the “underwriting admin” just failed to do basic math. After several days of trying to explain to her that she was doing the very basic math incorrectly, she finally realized it and my application was accepted. That wasn’t, of course, until another applicant was accepted. If the employee wasn’t incompetent, I would’ve been moved in already. Thanks for wasting a week of my time and $55. Don’t even try with these people, they notoriously screw up like this. I feel like a Karen for even posting this but I’ve never dealt with such levels of confident incompetence.

It was a bit of a hassle getting our documents sent in, however after we got approved-the rest of the move in process was a breeze. Based on other rental companies in Phoenix AZ, Darwin Homes has stood out above the rest in both cost, property options, cleanliness, and communication. I would highly recommend them. Spring 2022.
