Lying. Upping the price a couple days beforehand with no real evidence it needs to be raised. Told us 2-3 days, 4-5 days, now 7-21 days now that all our stuff is with them. My husband has residency to start. On calls and over email they've been rude, provided no solution, but instead getting irritated with us, because they've went back on everything they've said! I can't believe they're "top rated." Self claimed.

Avoid Coastal Moving Services – Dishonest, Unprofessional, and Misleading I don’t typically leave reviews, but my experience with Coastal Moving Services was so frustrating and unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others. This company operates dishonestly and with a total lack of professionalism. Despite providing a detailed inventory of my shipment, I was quoted one price over the phone, only to be hit with an unexpected $200 upcharge once they arrived. They repeatedly confirmed delivery would happen on a specific day—even assuring me they worked Sundays—only to later backtrack and say they don’t deliver on Sundays. I tried to be patient and understanding, but it’s now been over a week without a single update about my belongings. Every time I reach out, I receive vague responses like “it’ll be there by the end of the week,” which clearly means nothing. Their customer service is appalling. I especially want to caution anyone speaking with “Eric” — he will say anything to close a sale, regardless of the truth. He made multiple promises that were never followed through. If you're considering Coastal Moving Services, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. No one deserves the stress, dishonesty, and lack of communication I’ve experienced. We put down a $4225.66 deposit on May 9th, 2025 for a move from Michigan to Florida. Things did not work out for us to move for various reasons. Coastal is refusing to refund our deposit, saying it is non-refundable! What?! We are shocked, to say the least. I dont care who you are, this is a lot of money!! Be very weary of this Company! They are very sly and tricky!

ERIC is the man that i worked with within COASTAL MOVING and he blatantly ignored ALL QUESTIONS, TEXTS, AND CALLS even though he claims “they’re the best” THEY ARE ALL RACIST, SCAMMERS, AND DISCRIMINATORY AGAINST YOUNG WOMEN!!!!! no attention to details that were spoken with over the phone in important consultations conversations - see extra fees section - tried telling me i owe 1,800 when i only had $500 left bunch of hustlers trying to make more money off people dealing with immense amounts of moving expenses - neglected to inform us about fees for stairs. - clearly states that there are no fees for elevators yet i was told i owe $75 for having an elevator. late for schedule delivery - an entire day late and continued to show up after 5pm and said they would be here from 12:00 (noon) - 3:00 made the process of moving from South Florida to North New Jersey extremely more stressful than it already was - lied, scammed, extremely rude - Eric was horrible, absolutely no help at all. spoke highly about how if anything i can always call him but has yet to answer the phone and each time i text he sends me a phone number to call. takes advantage of young women - im a 22 year old Latina and once they realized that they started taking advantage of me and scamming me. it didn’t even help that my boyfriend was there. the second they saw my mother they started taking me seriously. this company is nothing but bad business and shitty people in the office.

Initially, the people we dealt with over the phone were courteous and excellent. Then moving day arrived... The movers missed their window and wanted to come at 10pm. We had specifically paid extra money to move on that day, and had planned to travel to a hotel that day after the move. Then the movers said they would switch to the next day and we should appoint a friend to oversee and they would have us on the phone the whole time. The driver went AWOL and refused to contact us. He insisted he had to come that day at 11:45pm, and all lines at coastal moving services were silent, we could not get in touch with anyone. The driver eventually showed up at 12:45am and proceeded with the move. We had to stay up from our hotel until 4am, and our friend had to be there all night. The driver repackaged things and increased our estimate by double. For example - we had pillows stuffed in a laundry bin which they insisted on pulling out of the laundry bin and repackaging, then charging us cubic feet for the bin and pillows. We were not included at all, and the movers completely took advantage of this fact. Next few days were a series of no one answering our calls or emails, until several days later we reached a lady named Kelly who was extremely rude and said she was going to call us to collect money. When we started to object to the price increase, she told us we should be happy with a 200$ discount, which was the amount of money we paid to specifically move on that day (the date they missed). Arguments went no where, and we are still at a standstill. We then called coastal customer service who informed us that unfortunately we had been mislead. When the movers told us that we should chose a first available delivery date to receive our goods at our new home, we should've chosen a date 12-17 days before we wanted our stuff. Essentially, "first available delivery date" did not mean the first day you are available for delivery as it implies (and as it was explained to us when we signed the contract), rather it is the time when they will begin shipping our belongings. Right now we genuinely don't know if we will ever see our belongings again, and not a single person we have spoken to has been helpful, honest, remorseful, or even apologetic. This company is a complete scam and is likely selling our belongings on eBay.

Although moving can be rather stressful, Coastal Moving Services made the process easy. They were professional and communicative from the first quote to the last delivery. My things arrived undamaged and in good condition. Well worth the money.

Look them up on the better business bureau website. hundreds of complaints in two years.They are just a broker. They find the cheapest worst movers they can find to do the actual job in my opinion. They start you with a low bid based on vague questions. Then the inept movers showed up. three out of four movers left in the middle of the job (for hours) to go do another job. They just disappeared with the truck. When they got back we were so behind that they just started dumping my possessions into garment boxes. Not wrapped. Lots of scratches and dents. at 11pm I had nothing but a mattress in my new place. They tried to charge me an extra 1000 dollars. They were late again the next day to complete the move. This time only two people. Do not hire this company. Unethical if not criminal. That is for the law to decide.

I had to move to Florida immediately from New York. In a timely manner, Coastal Moving Services provided a competitive price. The movers were quick and considerate of my belongings. Everything came undamaged and on schedule. Extremely happy with their assistance

Was quoted what I was told to be a fairly solid estimate (meaning it might change a little) and when movers showed up they told me it would be 50% higher. I had no choice but to pay and will have to pay balance to deliver. I had discussed at length the items, sent pictures of every room and some closets and also packed many things on my own. For estimate to be that far off is absurd. I have attempted to contact agent as well as customer service multiple times without response.

At first, I had some problems with the service. Since the company's customer service contacted me and acted upon my feedback, I am now revising my evaluation. When a business pays attention to its customers, it's always fantastic.

I called to get a quote for a move. From the beginning of the call. The guy was rude and condescending. He asked if I was related to some famous person. Then he sounded like he did a line of coke on the phone. He went thru bedrooms and each room for inventory. I added a couple rooms to make sure the quote was accurate. I mentioned he quoted deals differently than other movers and he got angry and started getting defensive. then he spit out a 16000 price and call me a f$&@cking fa&$91 and I like this and that and just kept going. I would never trust this company to move a piece of paper let alone a house of valuables. reminded me of boiler rooms
