Hatte für knapp 600 Euro über Check24 die Kategorie SUV Oberklasse gebucht. Leider war diese dann vor Ort in Hamburg bei Europcar/Buchbinder nicht verfügbar. Ein alternativ angebotener Kombi half uns nicht, weil 2 Personen um die 2m groß sind. Darum buchten wir gegen Aufpreis ja die Kategorie SUV. Ich telefonierte vor Ort erst mit Check24, dann wurde ich an Argus Car Hire weitergeleitet. Der Mitarbeiter (der sich weigerte seinen Nachnamen zu nennen, stattdessen nur den Vornamen) wollte, dass ich mein Telefon an die Europcar Mitarbeiter weitergebe. Beide telefonierten dann miteinander, am Ende war man sich einig, dass die Buchung kostenlos storniert wird und ich ging ohne Auto. Leider habe ich bis heute nach 2 Monaten das Geld nicht zurück. Die Reklamation lief über Check24. Zunächst fragte Argus noch nach meiner Bankverbindung zwecks Erstattung, aber dann wurde ca. alle drei Wochen nach anderen angeblich fehlenden Unterlagen gefragt (Screenshot, der den Anruf dokumentiert; Nachweis, dass ich pünktlich da war). Das alles ist dermaßen unseriös, dass ich jedem nur raten kann, nicht über Argus Car Hire zu buchen.

We used Argus car hire for our holiday to Crete, they then when though ZEZGO car hire, or what it should be called Apollo car hire, was a terrible experience; firstly, the day we arrived, there was no shuttle bus. We arrived at 1 pm and followed the instructions in the email. To wait for the shuttle bus, nothing ever came. About two hours later!!!, after calling the previous number in the email, which turned out to be wrong, I for a different company, who thankfully gave us their new number. At the same time, I got a text from them saying have you arrived??? and the driver then came and picked us up but said only drivers, so three out of 9 of us drove to this crappy little gravel parking lot called Apollo Parking, so it is not even ZEZGO, as all the branding including on the cars had the Apollo log. When we got there, we asked if they could go and get our friends, but they refused. We then processed the information and wanted to add an additional driver to the car, which was 40 pounds. At this point, I did not want to give these people any more money. I then asked if these 40 pounds could be forgotten, as they had not provided a shuttle or offered to pick up our friends. Still waiting at the airport. The lady I spoke it was so goddamn rude! I have no idea how or why she is in a customer-facing role—awful start to the hotel. Then we had to go and pick up our friends, in a super busy airport. We also had to fill out a blank form for the dents and scratches, which is suspicious. Then, they never pointed out the fuel part at the time. When returning the car in the morning, my friend's car didn't start, so we had to bump start it. When we arrived, they had jump-filled out the fuel part after the fact to full, which was not. Then they asked us to fill it up at the closed petrol station, and I did. My friend was then asked the same, and he initially refused as he didn't know if the car was going to start again. He then asked how much they charged for fuel per litre, more than the standard price, which is relatively common for car hire; this guy just said he didn't know and demanded that my friend go and fill up. It was the worst experience of any car hire and the whole holiday. I understand this is not you and only a third party, but the fact you didn't vet these people, it took me too seconds to google Zezgo, 1.6 stars, and Apollo which actually has 1 star with 54 out of 57 reviews as one star, doesn't take a genius to figure out they are terrible. I will never use Augur's car hire again, even after a good experience in Dublin.
Worthless company, booked and paid a car but when arriving there they didnt take our creditcard because we had no pincode with it (we rent already 9 years cars and never a rental company asked for this) We offered them the creditcard from my girlfriends sister but because she was not the renter they couldnt take it. Also we offered them the amount in cash as bail but it was also no option. This is a company who write a lot of demands in the small contract letters and they look how they can slip out of it just before passing the car over to the renter. EDIT: Not many people read loafs of pages with many unimportant notifications, its about honoust business making with customers. Let the truth come out and i hope people read this and rethink about renting a car this company.
Wegen Flugverspätung sei unser Vertrag abgelaufen, obwohl die Flugnummer bekannt war. Wir mussten einen neuen Vertrag schließen und 230,00 EUR mehr bezahlen. So etwas haben wir in vielen Jahren noch nie erlebt. Wenn man Bewertungen über Argus CarHire in anderen Portalen liest, so scheint das eine betrügerische Masche zu sein. Nie wieder!!!
Had an issue with the car hire company. Contacted Argus who we booked through and they ignored endless emails. Ended being charged with no reason from the car hire company and Argus should have helped but didn't. Plenty of better options out there. Argus have replied to this review (see below) asking me to contact them but I have sent them 7 emails over 4 weeks and never got a reply so this is an empty offer of help.

Considering we only booked the rental the day before, everything was brilliant from start to finish. Will definitely use this company again.
Scam company lied to me repeatedly, managed to scam me out of a decent amount of cash and proceeded to try and scam me even further. Do not trust these criminals. AVOID
