Avoid! Confusing, stressful and hidden costs
I've just had a really bad experience with the car rental through this company. I booked a rental and Damage excess refund insurance. When I picked up my car I was told by the car provider that my insurance policy was not valid, that I would still be liable for a large excess and advised to buy a replacement (and much more expensive) policy on the basis that the original policy would be refunded. 3 months later and still no refund. There were a few other customers in the rental desk queue in the same situation... really confused and ending up paying a lot of extra money for insurance. Customer service has been terrible and I would suspect that the wording of the booking voucher and policy is intentionally confusing so that people end up spending extra money. I've been in touch with Argus car hire and car trawler and gone through a PayPal dispute but still no sign of a refund even after being promised one over a month ago. The customer service is so abysmally bad I can only assume that their approach is to wear people down till they give up trying to get their money back. Avoid!
