A scaming business. Watch out! The Vic government energy relief are supposed to help people with high cost of living. Alinta Energy has never made adjustment in my account. I have so far received 2 bills. None of them has indicated such adjustment/credit. As soon as I found out there was a $75 paid by Vic government. I emailed them Then they made adjustment but the credit still not shown on the bill. They only emailed me to advise the balance of the bill had been reduced by $75. But when I looked at the bill, nothing has been changed. Imagine if I didn't make an enquiry. I would have paid what was overcharged. Alinta is not very transparent in this matter. Which is against consumer law! As a consumer we have the right to be informed.

I provided the correct address and Alinta advised me via txt (4.37pm) near end of business day electricity to be connected the following day showing an incorrect address. I had to call immediately (inconveniently) as business hours almost over. I needed to prevent connection to incorrect address the following day. Firstly, I was not provided enough time from receiving txt to call about the incorrect address and although not my mistake I had no choice but to go through an immediate 30 min process to cancel the contract at this address and arrange a new contract for connection to be set up at correct address. Missed an appointment as I was too late to get this resolved immediately due to the timing of incorrect information provided to me.

Very easy to get info and set up by phone. I spoke to Dan, he was very nice and explained everything that we needed to do. I went ahead and changed to this company.

After being with Alinta from 2017 to July 2025, I thought I was pleased with everything until I moved from semi rural to the outer suburbs of Newcastle. I’ve been charged an extra 100c more than competitors. It honestly pays to shop around!!

There is no way to put lower stars. DO NOT use alinta energy, they have taken 2 1/2 months to install a gas meter. Zero comms, zero care factor. This has caused significant delays, and after ringing to find what the hold up is, refused to transfer me to complaints/escalations, as they 'think we have a solution so we will reject your complaint'! Go with AGL, save yourself months of worthless frustration!
