My friend and I booked a Festive Break for 3 nights over New Year. It looked really good in the brochure, evenings of celebrations, entertainment, dancing, games, prizes. The hotel, food and staff were good but I didn't travel for 8 hours to Bournemouth for that, we went for the entertainment. Disappointing was an understatment. Alfa had booked in 3 coaches with 147 guests but the entertainment suite only had room for half that amount. As we were last sitting for dinner we along with many others couldn't fit into the suite. The room was packed tight with rows of tables and guests like sardines. On the first night we went out of the hotel into the cold to a pub which defeated the reason for travelling to Bournemouth. The next day we complained about it as it was New Years Eve and wanted to know what was happening that night about the room being too small. We were assured it was all in hand and they were opening up the 2 rooms. We came from dinner that night and found the suite jam packed the same as the night before but they had the corridor doors to the other room jammed open with 2 chairs. There was no entertainment in the other room, we along with many others were in the corridor or in the other room. This was totally unacceptable as we had been sold a festive break with entertainment etc. People who did get into the room were also disappointed, they said that the singers were 2nd rate and there was no games and prizes as stated in the brochure. It was disgusting we complained to customer service who told us they know they didn't get it right and offered a 15% of one of their hotels out of season. We refused and escalated the complaint to the manager asking for a cash refund. She got back to us and refused our request and told us to take it up with ABTOT. Alfa told us there is a charge of £180 to make make a complaint to them, it's no wonder they are so flippant and don't care about the service. I have since reported them to Trade Descriptions. I hope everyone else who was there does the same. I have read your reply stating you were disappointed with a 1 star. It was not even half as disappointing as my so called festive break. As for the entertainment not being up to scratch for the guests who managed to get into the room, many of us got no entertainment at all !!!

Travel arrangements very god scenery excellent food at hotel very good no complaints

It’s been a while since I travelled with Alfa, but my stay in Bridlington was better than I expected, hotel very clean and comfortable, it appears that lots of refurbishment has taken place, hence my room was clean and comfortable and very new. One point the room never got very hot despite using the booster, but the weather was extremely cold (room 607)

Well organised,Clean coach,local pick ups,good hotel,lovely staff throughout the stay in Cromer ,pleasant and helpful office staff always happy to help,Met great folk enjoying the tour. Nothing not too like .

Food hotel coach driver staff was all very good excellent value for money.

The nice friendly staff Very homely . The coach driver Tony was brilliant. A really steady driver and very informative on days out.looking at your driver awards I could not believe anyone could be nicer or more helpful than Tony.

Excellent holiday and the hotel was very nice with a warm,friendly atmosphere and great prices for the drinks.. The varied menu choices were also great with very nice meals each day..I was happy with my hotel room and the view was fantastic overlooking the Clyde..we also had two lovely days out to Glasgow,Loch Lomond and Inveraray.. The staff were always friendly,polite and attentive..Well done Alfa on a great holiday..thankyou

Compliments to the chef. The food was excellent.also the journey there and back was great . Felt safe. All staff kind and courteous . Thankyou

Hotel and.staff and food excellent Driver Andy outstanding.Day trips need to be reviewed for winter months Saunders foot not good .St David's apart from the cathedral was closed Carmarthen fine West Haverstand passable suggest you discuss with Andy who knows the area well for advice on selecting different venues for future winter days out

Lovely trip up to north Wales. Mix up where I was picked up but that was manageable for me. Hotel was really lovely…good position over looking the sea. Food was outstanding, lovely staff in restaurant, especially Miyazaki. Only negative was bedroom was so hot and I couldn’t turn the radiator off.

Our trip to Melrose was good. Driver Kieran very helpful . Two good excursions . Great hotel all friendly and helpful staff. Good and waiter good . Have booked the next one to Porthcawl 24 of us . Only problem was the staff when booking she said it was half price bar it wasn’t . ( as it was this year) Also made mistakes on pricing. And spelling of names. A bit rushed . But another advisor rang to rectify and email new documents . I suppose they aren’t used to big bookings .

Terrible company only care about profits. Treat staff and guests very poorly.

The Hotel was fantastic..the manager and staff excellent..Food was very good...the Hotel room was superb..Drinks at bar great..Reception very helpful..Second time at this hotel and never let down.. Thanks to Creg the manager and Jade behind the bar...
