Alfa Travel receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers, highlighting the excellent service provided by both drivers and hotel staff. Reviewers frequently commend the professionalism and politeness of drivers, with specific mentions of individuals like Bill and Nigel, who enhance the travel experience with their helpfulness and local knowledge. The hotels are also praised for their prime locations, cleanliness, and quality of food, contributing to enjoyable stays. However, some guests note issues such as noise disturbances in certain rooms and maintenance concerns, like broken lifts, which can affect comfort. Despite these minor complaints, the overall sentiment remains highly favorable, with many travelers expressing satisfaction and eagerness to book future trips. Great hotel and amazing staff
Croit Anna hotel was superbly situated on Loch Linhie. Room was clean and tidy and cleaned daily. Excursions included were well organised and worth the travel. Waiter service was a hit and miss at mealtimes but food choice was adequate. Our driver Mark was outstanding in his driving and knowledge of the Highlands and a very pleasant man and went out of his way to show us the best parts of it.
The hotel was really lovely the staff went above and beyond to help you we had a really wonderful driver called Russell who went above and beyond and trips organised were really good. Good value for money had lovely waitress called Miea she was really helpful and made our stay really memorable. Rooms cleaned thoroughly chamber maid service brilliant too Only negatives was lift was broken until the Wednesday of our stay at the Metropole Hotel and the carpets needed replacing as wearing out In places but no other issues at all.
The Queens Hotel in Blackpool was a lovely hotel, friendly staff and good food. The excursion to the Coronation street experience was excellent. What spoiled the holiday for me was the number of pickup stops at the beginning before we even arrived at the coach hub at Reading allowed us only a 10 minute break before continuing to Blackpool. By day two after arriving there were many complaints to the driver about the smell from the on board toilet. Nothing was done about it, it was worse by the evening of day four, and two people were physically sick. Thankfully it was emptied before our return journey on day five. I have done many 5 and 7 day holidays with Alfa. This has never happened before. I can only assume the tank was not emptied before the holiday started.
The pickup was perfect the transfer at Burton wood was perfect . Our coach driver captain Jack was brilliant and full of knowledge. Shanklin Hotel and all the staff could not be faulted . Fab few days away would definitely go with alfa again
Excellent company to travel with
staff and especially the waitress's were very good and also the room was always clean
We had a wonderful 5 day holiday in New Beach Hotel --Gt Yarmouth, everything was great at the hotel, room, beds, food, staff, our waitress Stacy was fantastic. Travel was good for our feeder going to Tamworth and again with Alan our driver to Gt Yarmouth, Alan was such a careful /clever driver. However our return to Tamworth home ward bound was totally different with a poor coach /driver. A journey of estimated 2 hour ended up 3 hours, driver seemed to not know what he was doing, music blasting out, air conditioning on full so all passengers were cold, he got lost 3 times trying to get to Hinkley !! He did turn off Air Con when I asked at Leicester. The coach [ Blands ] was old, rocky and drivers use of brakes was hard and almost constant at one stage I felt as though I was being garotted by my seat belt. Spoilt what was a great holiday weather also being perfect, written complaint put in to Alfa Travel. Our fifth time with Alfa so good until this one going wrong at the ending.
It was an absolutely wonderful Coronation Street experience 😊
As per normal everything was spot on the Queens Hotel in Eastbourne is a lovely building well looked after the staff were all very friendly and pandered to our every need Just a special thank you to our driver Nigel who went out of his way to find a chemist when I was taken.ill on the way home .again thank you all
A lovely holiday from start to finish. Coach driver excellent. The hotel couldn’t do enough for you. Good trips. Entertainment was very good. Only negative room was rather small and hot, one window wouldn’t stay open so kept it open with a cup. Shower brilliant, spotlessly clean changed towels as required. Breakfasts were great but evening meal not the best. Plenty of choice however. All in all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
Absolutely brilliant holiday, Steve was great , fantastic driver , coping with idiot car drivers! Wonderful time
We went on the Gillingham Monday to Friday break. Loved the trips out except Pantiles. One street filled with restaurants. Of no value to to use when you are going back to a 3 course meal. We want to see things of interest and restaurants are 10 a penny. I think it would be far better to have stayed longer at Chart well house or even to the Gillingham docks. The driver Christopher was great very informative and helpful. Disappointed no evening entertainment at the hotel so will have to check that out before we do another. Cannot fault the hotel The king Charles very organised although the bedrooms desperately need an upgrade but all the same we had everything we needed.
Hotel and staff excellent Excursions good A really good enjoyable experience. Two points not so good the entertainment at the hotel was disappointing with 2 quizzes and the same average artist appeared twice. The interchange waiting time in both directions is far too long and takes the edge off the holiday. It really is a major part of deciding which coach company we use.
Fantastic itinerary brilliant driver comfortable rooms but didn’t get much sleep as the hotel was on such a busy road and the food was only ever just warm our tour driver JED was so good ,unlike the very rude feeder coach driver who needs lessons in people skills , out of the six holidays we’ve only had issues with this and the very poor hotel at Bridlington
We have recently returned from an amazing Wild Atlantic Way tour with Alfa travel. The trip was perfect from start to finish. Our feeder coach picked us up on time but we had a longer wait than usual at Burtonwood. However, it was a lovely day and time passed quickly as past experiences were shared with fellow travellers. We departed Burtonwood at 11.15 and made our way to Holyhead with a 30 minute stop en route at Llanfair PG. We were given vouchers for 10% discount on duty free at the port (alcohol only) and one course meal with tea or coffee on board the Stenna line ferry. After a very smooth crossing we made our way to the Plaza Hotel, Tallaght for a one night stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the lovely buffet breakfast had plenty of choice. En route to Westport we visited Brigits Gardens where we had an interesting guided tour and Brigid cross making demonstration. An optional soup and sandwich lunch with hot drink was provided for €15. We had a 4 night stay at the Westport Woods Hotel. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style and had plenty of choice with juices, cereals, fruit and yogurt, breads and pastries as well as hot food for a full Irish breakfast. It was table service for the delicious, tasty 3 course evening meals. All staff were friendly and efficient. On day 3, after a morning cruise on Killary Fjord with interesting commentary, we journeyed through Connemara National Park to Kylemore Abbey. We could have spent a full day here as there is so much to see and do. After a quick snack in the cafe we walked to the beautiful abbey where we learned about the history of the building which was once home to the Henry family, Duke and Duchess of Manchester, and later the Benedictine nuns. We then followed the trail alongside the lake and past the boat house to the Gothic church which is currently undergoing some external renovation. As we returned to our starting point a shuttle bus was about to set off to the walled garden. Unfortunately our time was limited so the tour of the garden was very brief and we used the shuttle bus again to return to base and our awaiting coach. On our morning in Galway we hopped on the little land train for a 45 minute tour (€15pp). We had a walk around the area near Eyre Square then back to the cathedral to meet the coach. The afternoon visit to Connemara crystal was amazing, watching a demonstration by a skilled craftsman creating a work of art. Day 5 was our driver's day off but he accompanied us on the trip. The local driver was very knowledgeable and informative as we toured the spectacular Achill Island. On our return journey we were given the choice of being dropped off for free time in Westport or returning to the hotel. The walk back took about 15 minutes. There was entertainment each night but it only started at 9.3 so a bit late for us. Each evening we had a walk around the hotel gardens, down to the harbour or to Westwood House. There was free time in Dublin on day 6. The coach parked close to Trinity college and we took in some of the sights including the Mollie Molone statue and Ha'penny and Millennium bridges on the River Liffey. We had a lovely walk through St Stephen's Park, following an informative trail relating to the potato famine. Several artists displayed a diverse range of work on railings around the outside of the park. Of course a visit to Dublin is not complete without a pint of Guinness and after tasting my husband's pint I can confirm it really does taste better in Ireland. Our final night's stay was at the Pillo Hotel, Ashbourne. Once again the rooms were large and comfortable. The evening meal was tasty, plentiful and nicely presented but the vegetables were undercooked. We had an early start on our last morning leaving the hotel at 5.30 am. and had breakfast on board the ferry. We had a short stop in Llandudno on the way back to Burtonwood. A little church had an interesting VE Day exhibition which included a dress made with 5000 poppies which were knitted and crochet by residents of Criccieth during Covid lockdown. We had a little rain as we left Dublin on Day 2 but it had brightened up by the the time we had our first comfort stop and remained warm and sunny all week.
Although the scenery in Scotland was spectacular this particular tour involved long periods of sitting on the coach and early morning departures. The hotel was spoilt by the dining room experience where there was a lack of staff and organisation.
menu could have been better poor chioce
All very organised Ann nothing left untilll the last min out good journey good hotel good food will be booking again soon
Clean comfortable room. Friendly efficient staff.
