Kelly McDermott is the perfect host agent showing us round. All the communications beforehand very good too. Thank you Thornley Groves for providing an most efficient service so far.
Lois McGuinness was incredibly informative and helpful as we explored the house. She explained the entire process clearly and helped deepened my understanding of getting a mortgage as a first time buyer. I felt comfortable to ask any questions and was content with her informative answers! Looking forward to continue working with her :)
Very professional and responsive when arranging and managing our rental property. Really quick to sort out repairs too when we first moved in.

My daughter moved into her student house in withington rented through this company and we travelled up from Somerset to help her move in.. before we even got off the M6 my daughter had rang upset at the state of the house!! We said don’t touch it until we get there which they didn’t we got there and couldn’t believe the scum and dirt everywhere including old chairs in the garden like a trap house!! We rang to discuss this with a pompous patronising man called Harry who said he would live there!!! Clearly says something about his standards!! The girls spent hours cleaning the property and looked after the property impeccably for the 9 months they lived there and yet again we helped them move out so know how clean it was and this company still had the cheek to ask for £300 cleaning fees!! Absolute cheek!!! I absolute would not recommend this company to anybody

Jakob is absolutely brilliant, a fantastic asset to Thornley Groves..... Quick, experienced and his intuition means that he is always on the ball and seems to know exactly what is wanted or required. He acts with speed and is always receptive and positive in his approach. I do however hope that this review doesn't mean I shall lose my interaction with him should he be promoted!!!

My tenancy ended on 3rd September and we are now 12 days post move out and have not received my deposit back. According to the property manager Emily they have not received invoices. The whole move out situation has been nothing but stressful with Thornley Groves and would not recommend them to anyone.

Have always found Thornley Groves a great estate agent and the viewing I had today with Kelly McDermott confirms this

Had a viewing with Kelly today from the Monton branch at Thornley Groves, felt instantly welcome at the house, she was brilliant at showing me round the property and telling me all about the local area. She followed up very quickly to me on my query and was keen to know my thoughts on my viewing, would really recommend her to other people looking for property to buy in the area.

If I could rate Thornley Groves minus stars, I would. We rented our student house through them and from the beginning it was a disaster. When we moved in, the house was a state. It had not been cleaned and there were food wrappers around the house. Someone had also dumped a load of rubbish in the garden. When we contacted the agency to express that we were unhappy with the state the house was left in, our property manager Harry Chadwick was ridiculously rude to us and patronised us telling us he ‘would be happy with the state the house was given to us in’. To top it all off, they tried charging us almost £300 in cleaning once we moved out, despite the fact we had left the house spotless. Zero Deposit rejected the majority of this, evidential agreeing with us. NEVER rent through Thornley Groves, rebranding from Homes4U to Thornley Groves doesn’t change the fact they will try and rinse you of your money.

The WORST letting agency I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Utterly no communication yet expecting information from me at not even a moment's notice. Please, avoid at all costs. They clearly pay for false reviews in order to get their overall image looking better too.

Moved out of a property at the end of June. Took 2 months of trying just to get to our property manager to try to get my deposit. Then they took off £70 for an imaginary cleaning charge. 3 months later and still no money returned to us. DON'T trust this company, it's one big corporation that doesn't care at all about their tenants.

Literally the worst estate agents in Manchester, from personal experience they won’t answer any calls/emails, handover properties in terrible condition and charge extortionate fees. Avoid at all costs- have spoke to many people with the same experience.
