Review summary
Slater and Gordon Lawyers receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about communication and customer service.
Slater and Gordon handled my medical negligence claim, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. A big thank you to Megan Santangeli-Ball, who was my main contact throughout – always professional, helpful, and kept me updated every step of the way. I’m absolutely delighted with the settlement and really grateful for all the support. Highly recommend!
I was left stunned and saddened at the lack of basic compassion and professionalism at this firm. I had the misfortune of having to engage in conversation with someone call keran following an injury enquiry I made. After he got all my personal details that took forever he
cut our conversation put me on mute but I could hear him and asked another work colleague to call me after an hour asking for the same
details. I told her I already spoke to someone who had all my details and that I was busy arranging a funeral which was already mentioned in previous conversation relating to my injury. She laughed as she said how sorry she was. I called to tell them to cancel the enquiry I'd prefer a firm who didn't laugh at the misery of others.
My dealings with slater and Gordon, Shuiken Chan the solicitor representing the firm, has been extremely helpful. I would say I barely had to lift a finger and all steps were explained to me in a way it was easy to understand. Specialist appointments were made by Shuiken that I had to attend again something else that was absolutely problem free. I accepted an offer for my claim which was much more than I imagined I would get, with the reasons of the worth explained in details. I would instantly recommend this firm to anyone that required assistance in this field, I would not use anyone else
Everything was clearly explained, including potential costs and everyone I spoke to was very professional, courteous and helpful.
I didn’t feel pressured to proceed with instruction and have been left with time and space to decide.
What actually made my experience great was the high level of competence was really remarkable. Am very satisfied with the service I was provided.special thumbs up to my able lawyer Donna Rose for solicited advice am grateful.
I received the most terrible service from Slater Gordon (S&G) regarding them extending my property leasehold. Prior to engaging S&G, my landlord agreed in principle and gave permission for me to proceed. It should have been a relatively straight forward process, yet it took nearly 5 years – Yes almost 5 years! I engaged S&G to undertake the legal process in Sept 2019, and only received confirmation that all legal matters to extend my leasehold, were complete on 23 July 2024.
Throughout this time, I made numerous enquiries, telephone calls, wrote letters and made formal complaints, mostly unacknowledged or if acknowledged not acted upon. Out of frustration I requested a Freedom of Information (FOI) SAR to determine what was happening. I received a batch of over 100 pages of contacts.
S&G seemed to employ temporary staff who possessed little professionalism and customer service: time and time again solicitors/agents working on my case, came and went and departed S&G and abandoned my case, and did not pass the case on to colleagues to be completed. For years they did contact my landlord’s solicitors, then in December 2022 the Residential Conveyancing Team working on my case were closed. Another Legal Executive Consultant, picking up post business matters, realised my case had not been dealt with, and took matters forward.
I paid all my fees in a timely fashion, and waited patiently, and expected a professional service. Instead, I received poor communication, a poor professional service, and a long-drawn-out completion date, which caused me frustration and stress. I was never even given an apology or explanation of why it took so long to process my leasehold application. I am mindful of writing to the Legal Ombudsman and ask then to enquire with S&G why they took nearly 5 years to extend my property leasehold, far beyond acceptable and expected timescale undertaken by a legal firm.
My claim has been going on for 3 years and not made much progress until Megan Whitaker took over my claim, she always kept in contact with any update. I would highly recommend recommend her for legal help.
Never use this company they took nearly 4 years to complete my case which was a straightforward one, and charged me for treatment out of my own compensation money to say I’m disgusted is an understatement never again very very poor service
