We have used Setfords on a number of occasions for selling properties. Anna Nuttall and the team made the whole process very easy. We were updated frequently and any queries we had were swiftly answered. Just a very easy and pleasant process overall.
Karen was excellent! She was super responsive and helped with any questions we had as first time buyers. The whole experience was so smooth and speedy, would highly recommend Karen and Setfords!
Been professional throughout and completely transparent. Also, the response times to reply to emails is excellent.
Was initially disappointed that the whole starter pack needed to be printed out, signed and posted back. I did everything in 2 hours, and posted a file an inch thick the same day. Paid £1000 just to open the file. Rang at the end of the following day to check they had received it OK, but it turns out she doesn't work Thursdays. Never received any confirmation of receipt of all of the documents. Rang to check in a week later, turns out she didn't work Tuesday either. Was told that my case was being dropped and they cannot divulge the reasons why. I wonder how long they would have left it if I didn't call up. Still I have no correspondence to say they will no longer act for me. Disappointed that there was no online portal, no acknowledgements or updates and absolutely devastated that I have lost another week and wasted my time with a conveyancer who can't take the job on. I have been told my deposit will be refunded minus their ID check fees, but it's not clear how much I have lost and right now I'm still out of pocket.

Rowena handled our sale and purchase and was very thorough and conscientious. We were kept informed of additional costs and there were no big surprises in the final bill. We would have preferred a smoother online portal and perhaps some progress marker on the portal as often your conveyancer is working away in the background and this would serve to provide some automated communication. We were also dismayed to find that Setfords uses Barclays bank which is the biggest funder of fossil fuels amongst high street banks. Unfortunately we had already chosen our individual conveyancer and were a way along the process before realising. We would not have worked with Setfords if we had known at the outset. We hope they will consider moving to a more ethical bank.

We paid less than 50% of what the local solicitors in Kingston were looking for but we never felt that we received second class service..far from it.
