We have used Setfords on a number of occasions for selling properties. Anna Nuttall and the team made the whole process very easy. We were updated frequently and any queries we had were swiftly answered. Just a very easy and pleasant process overall.

Was initially disappointed that the whole starter pack needed to be printed out, signed and posted back. I did everything in 2 hours, and posted a file an inch thick the same day. Paid £1000 just to open the file.
Rang at the end of the following day to check they had received it OK, but it turns out she doesn't work Thursdays. Never received any confirmation of receipt of all of the documents.
Rang to check in a week later, turns out she didn't work Tuesday either. Was told that my case was being dropped and they cannot divulge the reasons why. I wonder how long they would have left it if I didn't call up. Still I have no correspondence to say they will no longer act for me.
Disappointed that there was no online portal, no acknowledgements or updates and absolutely devastated that I have lost another week and wasted my time with a conveyancer who can't take the job on.
I have been told my deposit will be refunded minus their ID check fees, but it's not clear how much I have lost and right now I'm still out of pocket.
Again Alison and her team have completed the sale of my property without any issues. Alison is always on hand to answer any queries and the service has always been superb. I would not use anybody else to do my conveyancing. Thanks again Alison to you and your team

Professional Yet Room for Improvement in Communication and Consistency
The experience with the team was overall positive, particularly in terms of professionalism and commitment to managing what was a complex property sale. Special thanks to Aasima for her clear and consistent updates, her communication style provided much needed guidance during a demanding process. Karen and Dawn’s efforts in navigating the layered aspects of the transaction were also appreciated.
That said, there are some areas where improvements could make a meaningful difference. A more proactive approach in acknowledging receipt of important emails especially when information has been specifically requested would help reassure clients that things are progressing as they should. At times, it felt like there was a gap in responsiveness which added unnecessary anxiety.
It would also be helpful for the firm to adapt communications to suit clients who may not be familiar with legal jargon. A more simplified, layman-friendly tone could go a long way in building trust and understanding.
Finally, there were instances where documents that had already been submitted through the firm’s own portal were requested again. This kind of inconsistency can create frustration and signal internal miscommunication.
Overall, a good service, but with room to refine the client experience through better consistency and clearer, more responsive communication
