Great in every department. Will do it again. Amazingly good organised.
All inclusive holiday very good. No hidden costs. The variety of tours was excellent and the quality too of a high standard. We have no hesitation in recommending Scenic.
We found the cruise disappointing. The staff were all lovely, polite and helpful, the room was kept clean and tidy and it was well organized. The food was good. The guides were all excellent. However pictures in the brochure were misleading. We only "cruised" for one afternoon where we could see the scenery we mostly travelled at night. Our cabin was also above the engine room and the bed actually shook at night. We thought we were booking an up market luxury cruise but it honestly felt more like a holiday camp. The photo in the brochure shows a couple at a table with space all around being served by a waiter. We were all crammed into the dining area with so little space you could hardly walk between the tables.

Great service on board, good food and choice of venues, inclusive excursions. Comfortable cabins with an all-weather balcony with a glass panel that can be closed in cold weather. The internet facility could be improved - we sometimes had to go to the reception area to get a reliable connection.

Fabulous from start to finish. All the staff were attentive, polite and. Nothing was too much trouble. The trips and enrichment events were fabulous and we have already booked another trip with Scenic since returning home.

Paying for everything up front is ideal. The staff always look after us very well. Having the electric bikes on board is an excellent addition. The food & wine at Table La Rive were outstanding. The lunchtime bar snacks were very good as were the breakfasts. Evening meals in the main dining room were a bit disappointing and the food in the small dining room was not good.

We never actually managed to board our river cruise in France because of illness and I had to cancel with insufficient notice. They refused to refund but offered to defer the cruise. Subsequently my wife had a major stroke and died a week later. This meant she would have died during the cruise. Even under these circumstances they considered again for three months but refused. What a nasty uncaring company. They will do all they can to not settle. Just to add a note to these Scenic reviews The vast majority of 5 star reviews are "Invited", how genuine are they?

Sadly, after great trips to Australia and New Zealand with Scenic, we have had to abandon plans to try their river cruises. They have finally worn us down on booking problems - always been a bit of a challenge - now unacceptable. Multiple emails with "offers" and impossible to understand pricing and "savings" online - so I abandoned my search. Then inundated with 7 email confirmations of a booking and 2 phone calls wanting my credit card number!!! We deal with lots of cruise companies - none have such poor systems and lack price transparency like Scenic. Only exception was Emerald, where the same thing happened - curiously now part of Scenic(?!?). Very little concern from Scenic means we will not be using them again - which we regret given a lot of positive reviews of river cruises below. I am sure they will add the usual message to this review promising help - but, as others have said, they really don't help and don't care - AVOID! RESPONSE BELOW - window dressing - they didn’t bother to contact me at all - awful attitude!

Scenic Cruises do not care about their customers. I booked a cruise around The Seychelles on 25 March 2024. The cruises was for 8 and half months later (December 2024) but they took 100% payment (£12,698) at the time of booking. I then independently booked travel insurance at £252.86. Two months later they cancelled the whole thing with dubious and contradictory reasons. We were given alternatives which did not appeal to us. We asked them to reimburse us in full, along with payment to cover our now redundant travel insurance; loss of interest on the payment we made and compensation for time spent by us dealing with the issue. The original payment was refunded but they refused to cover our loses, which were due because of their decision to cancel. They advised me to complain to ABTA. What a waste of time that was! Scenic Cruises still refused to compensate us and ABTA told us if we wanted to take it further - ie to arbitration - it would cost us £120. As we had already lost over £350 we thought it was too high a premium to try to get Scenic Cruises to show that they genuinely cared about their customers. I will never book with them again and make sure others are aware of my experience with them.

Sadly a similar story to other reviews! After two fantastic holidays with Scenic ( Arctic and South Pacific) they cancelled our third cruise ( Caribbean) just 3 weeks before departure, despite other reviews I have now seen which show that they knew about problems with the engines several months earlier. They then told me I could get a full refund ( this is their legal obligation) within 28 days. I questioned this as I know that they are legally bound to refund the full cost within 14 days of the notification of cancellation. After almost daily hassling we did finally get our money back before the 14 day deadline. But the whole experience was one of them not caring at all about their customers and a sense that I should be grateful that they were complying with the law !!! So it’s with genuine sadness that after two fantastic, memorable holidays with Scenic , we will never use them again - and my advice to anyone who will listen is to stay away from them and don’t trust them with your money !!
