Travelled with RSD to Nepal in June

Travelled with RSD to Nepal in June. Very good holiday, saw lots of interesting places, guide was superb and hotels were of a good standard. I would recommend the RSD holiday to Nepal

Cultural trip to Sri Lanka

I have travelled with RSD a few times and have never had a bad experience. An excellent way of seeing a country at an affordable price.

Fantastically beautiful country with lovely people

Went to Sri Lanka with RSD - fantastic countryside, amazing friendly people, good hotels and an amazing journey around the country in all its guises - one of the best trips of my life (I travel 10 mths a year) - why so good - people, no hassles of any kind going out, low cost economy, wonderful weather - an absolute gem of a holiday full of variety with something for everyone.

An Absolutely Fantastic Trip To The Balkans!

We had a wonderful holiday seeing so many UNESCO sites in Kosova, North Macedonia, Montenegro & Albania. Except for the last one, which was a little bit "Soviet era", the hotels were lovely with excellent food, very comfortable indeed. Our Turkish guide Gdoikca went above & beyond to help all passengers on her coach, even rescuing a hearing aid, which had fallen out in Cafe Mozart in Budva, Montenegro & organising for someone to drive it to our hotel at least 2 hours away so we had it before the coach left next morning.

This two week holiday was excellent value for money. The first week we had very good guides who worked hard and had excellent knowledge of the places we visited ans talked most of the trip. All admission charges were included and the hotels in Turkey were great. We went to three factories - but these were not really a hard sell as others had said in past reviews and only stayed about an hour or less in each. Second week hotel was very comfortable apart from cold indoor pool - sea was warm though. We did not get the all inclusive as we preferred to eat out in Rhodes town a short bus ride away.

I Booked with RSD celebrate birthday celebration 🎉

I Booked with RSD, to celebrate 🎉 my birthday 🎂. The tour guides made my day especially special. The other travellers were friendly and made the holiday more enjoyable. RSD is excellent for all inclusive package holidays including the excursions which makes it more enjoyable and interesting. RSD prices are great, good value for money.

RSD trip to Croatia first of all the…

RSD trip to Croatia first of all the coach rep could barely talk English we were rushed from one hotel to the next, yes we understand to see all the planned visits would take time! Now we have been dumped for our second relaxing week in Hotel Otrant. This hotel is definitely not 4 star. The rooms are dirty, stained and prior to checking in , have just been treated for bed bugs!!! We have emailed RSD to be relocated with the rest of our party who are staying in Hotel Catrina Korbor, or to be flown back home to the UK. So far we are stuck exhausted and extremely upset and just want some HELP please!

RSD holiday to Rhodes & Turkey

We have been on several RSD holidays and are well aware that visits to various retailers is a prerequisite. Having said that we have not had a bad experience across holidays in Crete, India, Croatia, Turkey and Rhodes. Our latest trip to Rhodes in October included the free extra seven days. We were concerned what hotel we would get, but we need not have worried. The Rodos Palace was an excellent base for the week. It is a local 5 star hotel. Rooms were very spacious and well appointed with reasonable WiFi. Located a comfortable one hour walk from the old town or a short €9 taxi ride, it was a good location. The beach across the road was also very accessible. The extra week did not include for food and drink, but the all inclusive package sold by RSD was good value for money. Food in the hotel was plentiful and generally of a good standard. The drinks available under the package were a bit limited, but still good value.

RSD, Rhodes and Aegean tour

We have just returned home from this busy but enjoyable tour. After reading some of the negative reviews on here we were a little anxious about what our trip was going to be like despite having used RSD previously. However, while there were a few niggly bits overall, our holiday was very enjoyable and definitely value for money. We are well travelled, sometimes independently and sometimes on tours. Over the years we have stayed in some basic accommodation right through to luxurious cruises therefore feel we speak after lots of experience. We are classed as a regular customer with RSD therefore get information about offers for some of these tours. The price we paid for this tour was very reasonable, we paid extra for the half board for the first week and all inclusive for the second week. This still made the holiday a very good value trip. Positive point: Cost of holiday - feel it would be difficult to find an equivalent tour for the price we paid Good hotels (maybe not 5* but clean & comfortable) Good selection of food, agree it can be repetitive but always able to find something to eat. Informative guides Hassle free as transported to places of interest by coach Includes admission to some of the places of interest Things that were frustrating: Spending too much time at the jewellery, leather and carpet places. We had no intention of buying, so just walked through to the exit and waited outside. While our guide was very knowledgeable and informative, sometimes it was difficult to understand him which resulted in some misunderstandings with some people. Unfortunately he did lose his patience with people a few times. Other travellers moaning that they had not been informed that the all inclusive didn’t include all drinks. It includes soft drinks, tea, coffee, local wines, beer and ouzo. Some people expected it to include G&T for example. We felt our guide did give this information before people decided whether to buy the all inclusive package. We would have preferred more time at some of the places of interest such as Ephesus rather than long periods hanging around at the jewellery, leather & carpet places and some occasions long lunch breaks (although aware that the drivers need a reasonable break on long journeys) The hotels we stayed at during our trip were: Virginia family resort in Rhodes 3 nights - ok but long queues to get tea and coffee at breakfast. Can walk to the beach from this hotel but would need a taxi to get to old town Rhodes (€11 one way) Tripolis hotel in Pamukkale 1 night - we liked this hotel very much. It was smaller and more intimate with a lovely thermal indoor pool Sea lights hotel in Kusadasi 2 nights - very nice hotel with some fabulous coastal views (we spent 1 night at another hotel near Kusadasi but can’t remember the name) Our final hotel for 7 nights in Rhodes was the Rodos Palace hotel. It’s about 1 hour to walk to the old town but you can get a bus from outside the hotel. A taxi cost €9/€10 for up to 4 people. Our room was big, clean & comfortable albeit a little dated overlooking the coast. The hotel has a range of different rooms some better than others, it appears to be pot luck what you get allocated. We found the food plentiful and didn’t struggle to find something to eat. Please remember it’s buffet food, sometimes think it could be warmer than what was available. If you go all inclusive you can order a packed lunch if you go out for the day. The quality of the drinks for all inclusive was ok, I’ve definitely had worse tasting wine! The drinks are served in paper cups but it didn’t bother us, we just took our wine and put it in a wine glass in our room. For some reason this hotel charges a fee to enter some of the entertainment for example the bingo, karaoke and Greek night. There was a singer in the main bar but we didn’t really stay to listen. Would we recommend this trip? Yes if you can let some of the niggly things go and not get worked up about them Yes if you want a value for money holiday Yes if you don’t mind not knowing what hotels you will be staying at Yes if you prefer to travel out of season Yes if you like traveling with others Yes if you enjoy busy holidays seeing some amazing sites No if you are expecting a 5* holiday No if you expect loads of shops / restaurants / hotels to be open No if you can’t cope with the jewellery, leather and carpet visits No if you don’t want early starts and busy days during the 1st week

RSD ... DONT TOUCH THIS COMPANY

Unbelievable! This is repetitive but please keep reading. We went with RSD on a tour of Cappadocia and the Turkish Riviera from the 24/10/23 to the 7th of November. We stayed at the SIMENA Comfort Hotel for the second week from the 31st of October to the 7th of November. On our departure on the 7th of November from the hotel the luggage was left outside the hotel ready for the four coaches that would bring us to the airport. We had a blue suitcase, a silver suitcase and a white bag which was to go into the hold of the coach. The blue case and bag was taken from us and we were told we would get it at the airport. We put the silver case into the hold of the coach we were travelling in. We were advised to board the coach and things would be sorted out at the airport. When our coach arrived at Antalya airport after the other coaches, there was no sign of the other coaches or our luggage other than the large silver case. We rang the RSD REPRESENTATIVE from the airport and rang the hotel. We were told the coaches were too far away from the airport to return our luggage. We had to board the plane without our luggage.   We then contacted the RSD call centre on arrival back in England (something we would repeatedly do). The first time we were told that there was nothing they could do as we had already made contact with the Turkish rep in the hotel and it was not the responsibility of RSD travel. Penalised because we contacted the RSD REPRESENTATIVE!!! Told we should contact the representative in SIMENA Comfort HOTEL Çamyuva to get it sorted which we did and he sent us a photo of the Blue Case that had been left behind in the Simena Comfort Hotel at the same time as telling us the return of the case is the responsibility of RSD Travel. The white bag was missing which contained a new coat worth £150 and a jacket. We then tried repeatedly to contact the Hotel but they have not replied to our emails. We also tried calling RSD call centre again but we were told that as we had contacted the RSD hotel representative there was nothing they could do. Got back on to the hotel representative who said it was RSD responsibility to get the luggage returned to us. At this point I should add that repeatedly we stated that we would pay for the repatriation of the case though it was certainty not our fault our luggage was lost. We are still trying to get someone from RSD to help us. We still do not understand how as a tour operator can justify the handling of this situation. We are both very upset at the lack of help to recover our luggage. We have been advised it is RSD responsibility to organise the return of our luggage. We put our trust in RSD as a company and thought they could organise the safe return of our case and bag. The hotel has cameras and could easily see what happened to our luggage including the bag that has disappeared. The measure of a company is how they react when things go wrong, it’s easy when all is well. To take people’s money under the guise of a tour operator and then be unwilling to help when it is needed says everything about RSD. Shame on you! UPDATE: Since I wrote this review we have had no contact by email, text or call to help us. We were shocked to see the audacity of RSD UK To write a reply saying the situation was resolved to our satisfaction. It most definitely was not!!! We have heard nothing from RSD UK, no communication to help us. WHY??? I would dread to think if you were ill on holiday the kind of treatment you would receive when you needed them!

This was our 1st holiday with RSD

This was our 1st holiday with RSD. We did the Rhodes and Turkey trip and on the whole really enjoyed it. We had a great guide who organised us very well. The schedule in the first week was hectic especially in Turkey but then we covered a lot of miles and the sites we saw were amazing. The hotels in Turkey were excellent. The jewelry, carpet, leather stops, I agree were intense but then RSD are promoting local businesses and if you don't want to buy, go outside. The second week was fine. We had great rooms, we had the hard sale of paying for full board, which we did and regretted it. The drinks were served in paper cups and there were plenty of restaurants still open. We hired a car which was a good thing to do. As someone else said, you get sick of buffet food after 2 weeks. The hotel staff apart from the cleaners looked like they were fed with guests at the end of a long year. So I would agree with what someone else said, this is a cheap holiday and it does do what it says on the tin.

Croatia/Montenegro October to November

Having recently returned from the October 18 Croatia/Montenergro holiday which was the worst holiday I have ever had, I am posting this review to warn anyone who might be tempted to book a holiday with RSD Travel. My advice to you is – DON’T. I endured all the complaints listed by other reviewers including a surly and unhelpful tour guide, days wasted on unnecessary factory visits, dirty hotel, dogs and cats roaming around the dining room and food covered in flies and wasps. ! will NEVER travel with RSD Travel again. 15 day Croatia and Montenegro Trip...Do not book

Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Montenegro Tour and Free Luxury Week Not as described. Misled and miss sold. I do not recommend. I am just home from what I can only describe as the worst holiday experience I have ever had. The tour was exhausting but on the plus side I did get to see some wonderful sites. Every day involved an early start and unknown final destinations. I paid a single supplement for the privilege of staying in the worst rooms in the hotels. One hotel was unfinished, there were wires sticking out of my bedroom and bathroom walls, the lift had not been commissioned and was not working. We were told by the guide that this was not just a cultural tour but also a shopping tour. We were given a very hard sell in a diamond jewellery warehouse and in a very upmarket leather outlet. We were not allowed to stay in the coach and not go in. Not the cultural, traditional craftsman experience described in the RSD details. We were also told that unless we purchased in advance, not payable on arrival as stated in the details, the gourmet package (£215) for our ‘luxury week of relaxation’ there would be nowhere to buy food! Clearly not true as there were restaurants nearby and a bus to take you further afield! The ‘free week’ was at the Pearl Beach Resort, a tired, shabby hotel closing down at the end of season. Even the only working lift in our part of the resort was tired and made loud grinding noises as it moved. Described by RSD as a ‘dream hotel’ it was certainly not that and hardly free when you take into account the £215 charge for lunch and an evening meal…and the £229 seasonal charges. We paid an additional charge for Peak Season and an an Additional Seasonal Supplement for our out of season experience. The food was appalling, it was reheated and re offered. It was never hot and the choice became more limited as other groups left. There was no medical support (end of season), uneven trip hazard pavements with grass growing in the cracks and poor lighting. No spa, no massage, (we close in five days) and a broken jacuzzi. No heated indoor pool. Not my idea of 4 star luxury. Everything was either closed when we arrived or being packed up during the week ready for closing down when we left…tables were removed, loungers around the pool area were stacked for winter. There were no loungers on the beach and the bamboo parasols of the summer were stacked as if for a bonfire, leaving a bare dirty beach to the dogs and cats that wandered the resort and the restaurant. I wish I could post photos! All in all, a miserable experience.
