Right move is set up to sell financial services (like mortgage products) and promote estate agencies that pay for additional promotion. Registration is painful, taking 5 mins to wade through their security protocols

I would give minus stars if possible. Our letting agent uses Rightmove referencing: So the Rightmove rep, Craig called my wife and within 30 seconds insisted on access to her bank account (?!). Then, when she declined and offered the usual payslips and statements, the rep said, "You want this property, get over it and swallow the pill". I have never heard such unprofessional nonsense in my entire life. I am absolutely insensed and who in their right mind would give bank account access to a complete stranger in Ireland??? Who the hell do these people think they are? Does anyone trust 'Rightmove' with their personal financial data, you'd have to be insane.

Thank you and well done!

We are in awe of the helpfulness and efficiency of the staff of Van Mildert with whom we have spoken this morning. We were dreading having to fill in endless forms online (not being very technical) and having to upload (or download) copies of the various pieces of evidence required to support our application. Having now spoken to several of their staff, we can confirm that they have been patient and clear in their explanations of what was required, and what alternative documentation was acceptable. I regret that we cannot thank them all by name, not having made a note of the conversations, but they know who they are, and we can recommend them without reservation.

Van Mildert were extremely efficient

Van Mildert were extremely efficient in getting our references, which is vital when trying to secure a property. I spoke to Danielle who was really great and helpful and I have since been email by Rachel with information in regards to setting up the TV & Fibre for us!

Why does anyone use van mildert??

The last time we rented with an estate agent who typically uses van mildert, the landlady waived the reference as she simply couldn't be bothered with it, sadly this time we were not so lucky. The referencing took 2 weeks, which took us straight to the middle of a payment period, costing us an extra 206 pounds to settle,which we really could do without. Van mildert have no sense of urgency, no consideration when calling should you happen to work nights, apparently cant be bothered to respond to mails, and generally appear to be a massive waste of time. My partner mentioned on his application that he used to have a credit card, they called to ask him about it, no actual credit check carried out. They called our employer but also wanted his payslips and contract but not mine, though we work at the same place. They called me to ask me for my address history as apparently it was incorrect on my application form, it wasn't. Basically they woke us up each time to ask us to confirm what we had written down in the first place. No apology for any of the above. Our referencing was eventually passed, our estate agent told us. 2 days later van mildert sent an email to say we've passed and quote us tenant insurance. We've just been woken up yet again by a call from them, I suspect to try and sell it to us. Overall a big inconvenience, lord only knows why they exist at all.

Consistently thorough, professional, effeicint and helpful.

We have been using Van Mildert as our referencing company for years now and have always been very happy with their service. Thoroughly professional, speedy and helpful. Always happy to take a call to explain anything and basically nothing is to much trouble. Excellent service and very happy to recommend them.
