Review summary
Rightmove has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about communication and customer service.
Find the agents in your area and email them direct- much easier than Rightmove
Right move is set up to sell financial services (like mortgage products) and promote estate agencies that pay for additional promotion.
Registration is painful, taking 5 mins to wade through their security protocols
I would give minus stars if possible.
Our letting agent uses Rightmove referencing: So the Rightmove rep, Craig called my wife and within 30 seconds insisted on access to her bank account (?!). Then, when she declined and offered the usual payslips and statements, the rep said, "You want this property, get over it and swallow the pill".
I have never heard such unprofessional nonsense in my entire life. I am absolutely insensed and who in their right mind would give bank account access to a complete stranger in Ireland???
Who the hell do these people think they are? Does anyone trust 'Rightmove' with their personal financial data, you'd have to be insane.
Issues with opening up the maps in listings. IT person totally unhelpful and failed disproportionately to resolve the issue. The person asked for a review so this is what s/he gets. Competitor Zoopla works fine though.
Taking the cake with what can be defined as Studio or 1 Bed. A lot of properties listed on Rightmove that are referred to as a Studio or 1 Bed apartment are in fact bedsits.
Good things about Rightmove is the transport links information and a rough guide on area broadband speeds.
Rightmove should be investigated by the authorities for allowing bp auctions to scam people like myself due to the unfounded trust in Rightmove I thought I was dealing with a legitimate company,Davies auctions are advertising and they are taking deposits that are non refundable same as bp auctions beware
Technically functional but incredibly frustrating!
Technically functional but incredibly frustrating.
I'm a single person who doesn't want to live with other people. They have a filter to exclude house shares, but apparently don't validate it at all. About 75% of my results are still house shares.
Lacks mandatory floor plans that would really help make the space easier to understand. Obviously this is what viewings are for but I'm planning to move across the country, viewings are going to be difficult for me so I'd like to narrow down my options as much as possible.
A lot of the information simply says 'Ask Agent'. The agents are the ones writing the profiles, it should mandatory for them to provide this information!
Seems clear that they are only interested in forcing tenants into shitty rentals for the agency / landlords benefit.
Disorganization and lack of attention to emails sent
I am renting a place and the estate agency is using RightMove to complete referencing. My personal experience with them was very dissapointing. They were very disorganized and wouldn't pay attention to emails sent.
I provided all documents requested very detailed yet they kept chasing me to provide things I have already sent...
They also would say they didn't receive a response from my landlord when he had sent an email the day before... My landlord needed to call them to provide the time the email was sent for them to find it.
They also did a report declaring the wrong amount of savings, which was weird because I provided all bank statements from all accounts, but somehow they just considered 1 of them on the report... I needed to chase them to fix it.
They are quick to answer phone calls but seem to have issues in reading emails and interpreting documents.
Just hope their incompetence does not affect my chances to get this place and move within the expected moving in date.
Do not use Rightmove landlord Insurance. I paid them a premium for a year and when a small claim arose (about £1,000) they turned down my claim verbally with no explanation, I had an estate agent who did everything by the book. I sent a letter of complaint which they ignored and so now I am taking them to the small claims court.
