Our letting agent uses Rightmove referencing: So the Rightmove rep, Craig called my wife and within 30 seconds insisted on access to her bank account (?!). Then, when she declined and offered the usual payslips and statements, the rep said, "You want this property, get over it and swallow the pill".
I have never heard such unprofessional nonsense in my entire life. I am absolutely insensed and who in their right mind would give bank account access to a complete stranger in Ireland???
Who the hell do these people think they are? Does anyone trust 'Rightmove' with their personal financial data, you'd have to be insane.
Avoid them by all means.
They are unprofessional and make life frustrating with all their red tapes especially for immigrants.
They ask applicants for requirements their workers cannot provide.
Don't be fooled by the number of positive reviews you are seeing here.
Alot of them are being done by right move staff to fool the public into thinking they are the ideal agents to sort out your accommodation needs.
They are terrible to say the least especially their referencing.

It's very easy to see why Rightmove have so many awful reviews on Trustpilot. The referencing department has the most diabolical customer services I think I've ever come across. Absolutely none of them care about our personal needs and requirements and it doesn't seem that any of them have been trained in conflict resolution, which forms the basis of good customer services. None of the agents will ever take accountability for your personal issues, and the way they avoid doing so is by making sure a different agent answers the phone every single time, so that you have to repeat yourself over and over again to many different agents who really don't seem to care less about you as an individual. If any letting agents are reading this review and considering using Rightmove as a referencing body, I would seriously recommend you avoid them like the plague and instead seek out a professional and efficient company to work with. I dare say this review will get some kind of disingenuous and inauthentic apology from Rightmove, but I can assure you that if they were genuinely concerned about people, they wouldn't have so many terrible reviews as the one I've just given.
I don’t understand why filters such as number of bathrooms, size of properties, freehold or leasehold is not available.
It looks like the website is made to have the worst user experience.
You have to click on each property description to see if it fits your needs.

As a landlord I took out Rightmove rent guarantee and legal expenses insurance. I have been trying to sort a claim since August 2023. They use a claims company and several different solicitors. It has been a nightmare trying to speak with anyone, no one phones back. They cannot tell me if there is a problem with my claim nor why they haven’t paid the claim. I must have phoned about 20 times and emailed too. Don’t use the rent insurance policy! Absolute waste of money.

Should be space to detail if unemployed due to longterm sickness
Why isn't there an area where you can detail if you are unable to work due to illness, it only offers unemployed. And due to some Landlords insurance policies not accepting unemployed people, chronically ill people are being pushed out and seen as a risk. This is stopping sick people getting homes. If there needs to be a distinction so Landlords can make a more informed decision when looking at potential tenants. Im a professional who's genetics let me down and can't work. I cant believe the discrimination within the market, even agents saying 'how can we Police it?' When asked if discrimination happens against sick people on benefits.

For the love of God. Please include a box, so I don't have to see any auction houses. You have a box for retirement homes or gardens and driveways. I actually emailed Rightmove.co.uk a couple of years ago requesting this but obviously, this has fallen on deaf ears. Thank you.
