DON’T DO IT.
Rentalcars by booking.com sell their service as “no extra fees”, which was completely the opposite we were experince when we rent a car in Napoli form Thursday 7th - Fridag 8th June 2024.
We rent a car by Italycars, and when we arrived early in the morning Thursday to pick up our car as our appointment were, we definitely felt like they sc*m us.
On booking.com we chose to rent with FULL INSURANCE, which we paid extra for - that to be sure if anything happened, it wouldn’t cost us extra - we might not need it, but i would be a great security.
When we arrived, the lady showed us something about full insurance and without. It would cost 33 euros EACH day for the insurance. I told her we booked with and already paid for it, but she said it didn’t count. Like what the heck? We were pretty unsatisfied and told her, but ended up paying it anyway. Just for her to want a depositr on 500 EUROS AFTER?! Luckily out credit card fail a not because we couln’t effort it, because we could. But that much?! Our rent for the to days weren’t even 100 euros!
As we told her we would cancel the car, because all of this isn’t okay, she looked pretty shocked saying “there’s always a deposit”. We said we know, but it’s not right that it’s 4 times af much than our rent is - and that we have to pay insurance TWICE!
We got back out 66 euros. But we do expect rentalcars to give our rent back, because the do sell it as “no extra fee” - which isn’t true! Otherwise we will take et higher, so give us our money back!
