Quickest completion we have ever had

We have moved house many times but this was by far the quickest conveyancing process we have experienced, with completion in less than 6 weeks. Calls and emails were answered promptly by a friendly and helpful team. One tip - make sure you know whether you have a fixed quote or estimate. I have no hesitation in recommending PLS.

Dan was outstanding

I normally use my local solicitor to buy a house but due to his work load this was not possible. PLS were recommended and Daniel was my assigned contact. The guy was brilliant, he was so responsive and on the ball. Nothing was to much trouble and although it wasn’t the easiest of purchases Dan got the deal done a week ahead of schedule. I will definitely be using PLS and Dan again in the future.

lack a bit of professionalism

Lack a bit of professionalism. Demanded documents sent were not acknowledged. I had to phone the office to make enquiries about the documents whether received or not, just to be told by one of the staffs, after checking the system that the documents had been received. Can PLS try to acknowledge receipt of documents sent to them. please

This was the first time I'd purchased a…

This was the first time I'd purchased a leasehold property and hadn't realised how many hurdles there were in the process compared to freehold. There were deadlines to meet, particularly the change in stamp duty on April 1st 25. So I was very pleased that completion was accomplished well within that timeframe. From start to finish it took about six weeks. So many thanks.

Worst service

Although initially, I put a good review for PLS Solicitors, however upon completion, it came to my attention that I was not informed of the most important issues. My case handler at no point made me aware that a tenant deposit not protected after 30 days. The Estate Agent , who is in charge of Managing my properties advise me of this upon speaking to my case handler Regarding this matter, she informed me I will not be liable and said she will email me. I did not receive any correspondence from her regarding this upon speaking to the managing agent. They advised me I will still be liable as I am the new landlord. I was expecting rent as the properties which took over had tenant in situ but my case handler never contacted or communicated with the seller Solicitor for them to transfer the proportion of the rent instead I am being told to go and speak to the tenant myself! I have now missed out My rent as well as having potential lawsuit against me due to this Solicitors incompetency. I would strongly suggest that that you read these reviews before going ahead with the Solicitor as they barely communicate with you and will cause you financial stress.

They do the job, but only that.

I recently used PLS Solicitors for a new-build property purchase. While the process was generally smooth and hands-off, I found it too hands-off for my liking - especially given the higher-than-average conveyancing fee I was ultimately charged. I chose them primarily because they were the preferred solicitors recommended by the developer. As a first-time buyer, I didn’t really know what to expect throughout the process, and there was very little proactive guidance from PLS. Their approach seemed to be: "If you have a question, ask." But as someone unfamiliar with the conveyancing process, how was I supposed to know what to ask in the first place? I would have appreciated a bit more hand-holding and direction, particularly given the premium I was paying. To their credit, whenever I did have a question, it was answered promptly - though usually by a conveyancing assistant rather than a solicitor - shout out to Lucy Hughes. Interestingly, I never had a single video call or phone conversation with the solicitor handling my case. In fact, I couldn’t tell you who they were or what they looked like. That felt strange, but again, I have no prior experience to compare it to. The online portal they provided was functional but frustrating. The interface felt outdated and unintuitive. It wasn’t always clear what documents I was opening, or whether my uploads had gone through successfully. The case tracker also lacked helpful detail. On the plus side, the ability to sign documents electronically was convenient. In the end, PLS got the job done - no more, no less. The experience wasn't terrible, but it also wasn’t particularly reassuring or memorable. For first-time buyers especially, I'd recommend looking for a firm that offers a bit more engagement and guidance throughout the process.
