I wouldn’t recommend this centre in…

I wouldn’t recommend this centre in Stockley Park for families with children or for anyone considering buying a membership for family use. The soft play area has been broken for several months now, and unfortunately, there are no plans to repair it. There are also very few classes available for children, which is quite disappointing. Additionally, facilities like the sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi are not accessible to anyone under 16, which limits the experience for families. One of the toilet doors has been broken for a long time and still hasn’t been fixed. The cleanliness of the changing rooms is also not up to standard.

Extremely Disappointed

Extremely Disappointed – Unauthorised Payment After Cancellation I cancelled my membership at Nuffield Health Gym Chigwell and received an official confirmation email stating that my final payment would be on 1st July. Despite this, they still charged my account after the cancellation date. This is completely unacceptable and feels like unauthorised billing. I now have to go through the hassle of disputing the payment and trying to get my money back – even though I have clear written confirmation that my membership had ended. If this is how they handle cancellations, I would strongly advise others to think twice before joining. A gym should be professional and trustworthy, not take money from ex-members without permission. Extremely disappointed with how this has been handled.

Aaron Fowle is my PT and he’s fantastic - I had been coming to this gym for 3 years and love all the classes and the instructors. I switched to PT when zi decided to do hyrox and saw a lot of change in muscular mass and energy levels. Aaron is a real asset to Nuffield and fitness in general 💪

poor service

I intended to cancel my gym membership and followed the online process as suggested by the staff at the front desk. However, despite my timely cancellation, I received a call days later informing me that I will be charged for an additional month, resulting in two months of fees for a service I will not use. My decision to leave was concerns about the gym's unhygienic conditions and the closure of the hot tubs, this experience has left me dissatisfied with the overall service and billing practices. its not the procedure - i was told wrong or maybe the staff wasn't bothered to help or cancel - which has costed me extra month of fees which i wont be using!!! not happy

Absolutely Amazing!

Was admitted for HOLEP surgery a week before Christmas. I was amazed by the experience - I came out of hospital feeling like I had never been through any surgery! Right from being admitted, the whole experience was 5 star. The anaesthetist saw me in my room, was very thorough and professional and when I saw her again before surgery, was very calm and reassuring. I remember taking 3 breaths of oxygen then the next thing I was out of surgery in post op! My surgeon Mr. Kastner appears to have done an amazing job ( I say appear only due to the retraining of my bladder at the moment which is normal - but in every other respect, it’s been terrific). I never felt any pain or even discomfort at any stage after the operation. My wife was amazed as I walked out of hospital when she collected me as she was convinced I would be wheeled out by nurses. The three nurses who looked after me during my stay were absolutely terrific. I wish I could remember their names but they escape me which I feel very guilty about. They were extremely caring, attentive and professional and I couldn’t have had a better experience! The catering was also extremely good quality with multiple meal choices. I can wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Kastner for this operation and Nuffield Cambridge for the wonderful care I received.

Using the gym I realised the absence of equipment compared to other much cheaper gyms. For most the time I was there the steam room wasn’t working properly. I incorrectly cancelled my direct debit thinking it would cancelled my membership however not realising this was wrong there now saying I need to pay them £120 despite not using the gym and explaining myself. This is due to incorrect procedure.

Joint Pain Programme Stoke Nuffield Health

Just want to thank Lexi who took the Joint Pain class at Stoke-on-Trent (Nuffield) She was always very professional, very approachable and very friendly to everybody. Before taking part in this programme I always thought gyms were for super fit people. Now I have a different perception, I can exercise and keep fit at my own pace and as long as there is improvement to my fitness that’s all that matters.

Are your swimming pools for swimming or…

Are your swimming pools for swimming or for young men 18 19 years of age to play like if they were at a kindergarten hitting and play fighting with the long floats meant for swimming training, life guards need to start enforcing swimming etiquette. Thinking of redrawing my membership thought the complex was for fitness and wellbeing.

Initial Ankle Surgery and Referral

Initial Ankle Surgery and Referral: I began my journey with Nuffield Health due to persistent pain following an ankle surgery. After a referral, I was assigned to Mr. James Metcalfe, a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, for the removal of the implant. First Consultation with Mr. Metcalfe: My initial consultation with Mr. Metcalfe was disappointingly brief. He rushed through the appointment, leaving little room for me to ask important questions or discuss my concerns in depth. Online Assessment and Communication Breakdown: Following this, an online assessment was conducted. I expressed my need for a physical examination to assess my vitals, considering my health and recent diet changes. Despite emailing the secretary multiple times, my request was not adequately addressed. Pre-Surgery Process and Anesthesia Uncertainty: On the day of the surgery, I encountered a disorganized and hurried process. Crucial information regarding anesthesia types and choices was not provided, which was essential for my informed consent. Surgery Cancellation and Lack of Support: Surprisingly, Mr. Metcalfe decided to cancel the surgery abruptly, citing my perceived indecision. This decision came as a shock, especially since I had made significant preparations, including taking leave from work and university. Following my discussions with Shannon, a director at Nuffield Health, it was claimed that an appointment with a new surgeon had been arranged. However, I never received any email or phone call regarding this new appointment. This lack of accurate communication added to the confusion and frustration, exacerbating an already challenging situation. Health Deterioration and Additional Challenges: Amidst this chaos, my health deteriorated. An incident of food poisoning caused me to miss another appointment. Instead of understanding and support, I was referred back to my General Practitioner, leading to more delays. Personal Impact and Conclusion: This prolonged process severely impacted my personal life, with cancelled travel plans and academic setbacks. The overall experience with Nuffield Health was deeply disappointing, marked by a lack of empathy, poor communication, and organisational disarray.

EVIL CUSTOMER SERVICE…

Do not even want to give a single star if i could. I was lied to by several members of staff at Chigwell in relation to my membership. I've been a memeber at the site for four years and without missing a single payment, the service i have recieved in return has been attrocious. I was frequently hearing new members joining at only a fraction of what i was paying a month. I queried this and was constantly being fobbed off. I wouldn't even mind but nothing ever seems to work at the site, all you can hear is members complaing about the dreadful facilities, even the instructors were frustrated as nothing ever worked! The pools always closed, the bikes never work there are never any towels, hot water was always a problem and much much more to mention. They then have a cheek to charge you what they want! In light of this I've decided to cancel my membership and leave a review that is a true reflection of the service i have recieved and wanted to make other potential members that are thinking of joining Nuffield aware of how they operate. Its all about numbers for them, money grabbing liars is what they are !! TRUST ME AVOID!!!

My experience of Nuffield Gym Fulham is…

My experience of Nuffield Gym Fulham is extremely poor. I am taking my complaint to the top. The reason for my complaint is that despite asking several people in the gym on how to cancel my membership nobody could tell me until it was too late. I was one day late due to incompetence and poor customer service and have had to fork out another £75 for a gym I don't use. It took me days to find the 'secret page' that is nowhere visible on their website and then it took four days for them to attend to my cancellation. This lack of transparency is a disgrace. I likened my experience of swimming - I've been three times since I joined in October - to feeling like a toad. I came out wet. I am disappointed for that amount of money that a towel is not provided for swimmers! The condition of the gym is disgusting. I wouldn't be surprised if Legionnaire's disease was a possibility while using it. It is quite unacceptable and considering I was careful to be put on a month by month contract my inability to cancel when they I know I have only attended the gym three times in the last four months is frankly bordering the criminal. The worst part is Head Office were sympathetic and Fulham overrided their decision! Disgrace to the good Nuffield name. Lord Nuffield would be turning in his grave.
