Fabulous, professional & friendly company!

I cannot praise Motus Medical enough. Everyone I dealt with was helpful, professional & really friendly. They really made me feel like a valued customer & that my order massively mattered to them. Any questions I had & have since had, have been handled so well & promptly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to order any form of mobility aid.

Don’t touch with a barge pole

The study, built like a tank, can cope with anything power wheelchair was the complete opposite this Q700 M series has broken down on average once a month and it has taken nearly as long for motus medical to come a fix the problem as each time they did it ‘broke down’ the next day again and again this item is unreliable not fit for purpose due to the continual breakdowns and then before the warranty had ran out motus medical refused to fix the last breakdown unless I paid £250 for collection I think not 26/11/22 was the last breakdown of wheelchair

I found this company to be super…

I found this company to be super helpful, quick response, efficient and friendly. Took on board what I needed and did everything in their power to get a custom made wheelchair for my husband. I can’t rate them highly enough.

The team at Motus listened to what my needs were and we reached the best outcome, my new chair arrives in January, I found all the staff polite and easy to talk to. Everything was explained in a way I could understand.

Amazing company to deal with.

Amazing company to deal with. Great engineer that came out to the house and worked out that we could have the same seat on the three wheel chairs that I am getting from them.

Lack product knowledge

I was advised to contact Motus Medical by Sunrise to obtain parts for my Quickie wheelchair. Motus requested my serial number in order to supply the correct parts and eventually sent the parts, which were incorrect. They then offered me an engineers visit to identify the correct parts at a cost of £125, which wasn’t appealing and I declined. I sent Motus photographs of exactly what I needed. After waiting for an engineer to return from holiday and further contact between Motus and Sunrise they told me my parts were obsolete and no longer available. All of this took weeks and I then had to prompt them for my refund despite having been told it had been made. Needless to say, they did not refund my return postage, a mere £3.35 and that has prompted me to write this review, it seems so petty. All this has left me very frustrated. Sunrise won’t deal with the public but seemingly Motus have to refer back to them for information, which cannot be relied upon. My next wheelchair won’t be a quickie.

I ordered a Quickie 700M from Motus…

I ordered a Quickie 700M from Motus Medical as Sunlife Medical UK suggested that I contact them. Their salesman had excellent product knowledge about the Quickie range and he impressed me. The chair was delivered in February this year but within days I realised it had a significant fault being that it could not ascend inclines. It was almost 3 weeks before an engineer visited but he failed to identify the fault. A different engineer then came but he too could not identify the fault so took the chair back with him to Stafford. I was loaned a small basic powerchair that was so uncomfortable I used my old wheelchair that the 700M replaced. 5 weeks later the 700M was returned but, incredibly, still with the same fault. I contacted the salesman, having lost faith in the service provided by the service engineers. He identified the problem, obtained 2 replacement motors with lower gearing then he came and fitted them. My chair now climbs inclines, but I have lost the higher speed of 8 mph, being an attractive feature of the 700M. To my dismay another fault soon cropped up that again the engineer could not identify and resolve so he took the chair away with him. After a few days I was informed that the fault had been found. The cause was damage to a switch positioned at the lowest point of the foot plates. It was not pointed out to me at the handover of the chair and is not to be found in the manual, alongside a warning of its vulnerability. I was told that Sunrise Medical would take 10 days to supply another switch but that the chair was working normally. I decided to collect it myself immediately given my discomfort, being a full day away from home with the costs of rail travel and carer assistance at my expense. The new switch arrived but is not needed or fitted. A pal of mine looked at the switch then moved it into a safe position where it cannot be damaged. Motus Medical charged me £450 for this issue. I wrote 4 letters during this period to Nathan Bevan, the Operations Director of Motus Medical. In the letters I explained the impact on my life with the loss of use of my new wheelchair and the consequences on my health using an old knackered and unreliable wheelchair. Quite simply he has offered nothing in compensation for the loss of use of my new chair and for the distress that Motus Mobility has caused me. As Operations Director he clearly prioritises sales but leaves the staff on the repair and maintenance side under resourced and lacking product knowledge. To summarise – in my opinion Motus Medical are very sales orientated but unacceptably poor in terms of repairs and breakdown response.
