I recently used the Tooting Bec branch of Marsh and Parson to sell my property and cannot speak highly enough of their Director, Angelo Mulholland. Angelo and Thomas Syms were reliable and honest in their dealings with me, they are both highly experienced agents who know the wider housing market and the local market well and understand the impact of the change in one on the other. Connor Marney, managed the on-the-ground marketing and sale of my property, an absolute star! Calm and reliable, unfailingly polite and hard working I felt really fortunate having Connor as part of my sales team. A big thank you to M&P, I have no hesitation in recommending you!

I worked with Marsh and Parsons to do a short-term lease. My agent rushed me to send over full funds (deposit and entirety of rent) immediately to secure the flat, warning me that I might not get the place otherwise, so I did. He wrote to confirm that I got the place. A month later, he said that I actually did not get the place as apparently the landlord was no longer renting it out, despite the contract and confirmation. He “generously” — that’s sarcasm — offered to refund the money. When he sent it back, it was short $1k. He refused to do anything else about it. Not only did he fail to fulfill contract obligations and screw me over that way, he also caused me financial loss for the privilege.

We’ve Been faultless tenants for over 2…

We’ve Been faultless tenants for over 2 years in our house in Battersea , various issues over the years with appliances, such is life. Until last week, our boiler packs up , same day - contractor visits , turns off the boiler and recommends new part , 5 days later (no heating or hot water - minus 3 outside ) no work has been actioned , our property manager (Ellie hodkinson) doesn’t answer the phone (10 attempts ) or messages for a call back. My partner is pregnant and I have MS , so we both classed as vulnerable people . How’s that’s for service ? We have got our own engineer out and the initial assessment is incorrect , and have organised our own fix for next week. Love our house , it’s a shame it’s underpinned by a shameful agent.

Alarming Incompetence: Urgent issues not dealt with

Unfortunately my experience is very similar to the reviews that are already posted here which is frustrating and alarming and should set off alarm bells for any respectable company who wants to remain viable. I’ve never seen so many negative comments levelled against a company. The pain point for me is reporting urgent issues that never get dealt with, the high turn over of remarkably incompetent agents (bar 1 or 2) who have no idea how to communicate or execute their role or assume any level of responsibility. A company that has such high turnover is a red flag in itself. There’s obviously no adequate training or retention strategy to encourage employees to develop in their role or stay. Senior management don’t seem to exist or just hide behind their front line colleagues. Anyone with that title working for Marsh and Parons needs to re-educate themselves on what management means. Specifically for us, how long should a family have to wait for a replacement fridge after the door falls off twice on the floor ?? We’re now waiting 5 days for a solution with me chasing daily as the agents in charge don’t seem to comprehend a sense of urgency and when I ask to escalate , there’s no-one from senior mngt available to speak with. A fridge is a vital appliance and this situation is getting stressful. We’re also waiting 7 months on a leak in a roof that’s causing rain water to pour onto the kitchen table, a gate pillar that’s wobbly and can fall onto a public footpath and dampness thats creeping through the property and needs to be managed. The response is we can’t reach your landlord or we’ll chase that so the onus is back to us to keep chasing …we pay our rent every month without fail, maintain the property to a very high standard. As a landlord myself I would never dream of using such an unprofessional and incompetent agency to have anything to do with my property.

Be warned, think twice about using this company. Do your research.

I honestly don't know how this company is still in business. I have rented my property with them for the last year. Their fees are extortionate. Their only interest is in making money. Never having rented before they conned me in to a three year contract. I was told that I would have a get out clause after a year but did not realise that this should have been stated in the contract. The tenants never pay the rent on time and Marsh and Parsons offer an appalling service with very poor communication. They do not do what they say they will. You pay the money upfront so there is no incentive for them to give you a good service. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Utterly appalling service

Utterly appalling service. We have reported countless urgent issues and chased them for months with no response. You cannot rely on Marsh and Parsons to resolve a single issue raised to their property management team, it is an absolute disgrace.

Poor communication, extortionate rates and overcharging on all services and repairs! As a landlord, please, please, please avoid being locked into a contract with Marsh & Parsons! Terrible!
